Would you rather be a mage, archer or a knight?

Illumina Drathiran'ar 09-28-2005 11:11 AM

So, uh, when is this going to stop?

burnzey boi 09-28-2005 08:54 PM

i dont know.. seriously i do not know..

armageddon272 09-29-2005 07:27 PM

I always find Magicians most powerful if they're ecperienced enough.

Sir Goulum 09-29-2005 09:32 PM

I like magic.

Brayf 10-03-2005 04:29 PM

I'd be a knight, without a doubt!

Jaradu 10-03-2005 05:51 PM

I'd be an archer. I could pick off people before they got too close to me, and if the battle becomes hopeless, my light equipment helps me to easily abandon my comrades! :D

Plus I won't see any awful blood-spattering and eye-gouging. I mean, long range (Bows, guns, snipers, etc.) I could probably handle. But getting up close and personal? I don't think I could bring myself to stab a man. But shoot him? Hell yeah.

burnzey boi 10-03-2005 11:44 PM

Stabbing is better, great for revenge and kills them quicker! Mage is merely tortuing the victim.. Plus all that shiny armour gets you lucky on saturday knight ;)

Mack_Attack 10-04-2005 04:03 PM

What edition are we talking. ;) But for real magic all the way.

Brayf 10-04-2005 08:01 PM

Ideally, I'd be a dex-based fighter. Preferably dual wielding. Maybe I'd be a ranger... God, who am I kidding, I just want to be Drizzt Do'Urden!

I was seriously considering getting my hair died white this evening. I really hope I wasn't subconsciously thinking of Drizzt, that would be just too much.

Balintherlas 10-05-2005 02:25 AM

Damn dude, who wouldn't wanna be a knight?

Illumina Drathiran'ar 10-06-2005 02:12 AM

The opposite of a knight, apparently.

Stratos 10-06-2005 05:08 AM

A magician. I would just cast a curse on my opponent and wouldn't even NEED to face him/her in battle.

burnzey boi 10-06-2005 09:31 AM

Yeah but mages can't wear much protective clothing as to a knight, however the magic that they cast on the armour would vibrate dramaticly hurting hte knight badly. Range wouldn't be good against a knight because the arrows need to be precise to penetrate full steel armour. Besides, Knights get to use the same weapon over and over again whereas the archer and mage need to restock on supplies before fighting.

Balintherlas 10-07-2005 12:43 AM

Plus you know your goin to heaven when u die.

Sounds an awful lot like you've been playing Runescape, cause I don't know too many other games where armour causes you to be more affected by damaging magic or where bows take any more of a penalty against heavy armour than any other weapon. In any case, the fighter can only use those advatanges if he can get close enough to the offending archer/mage. An archer would use his keen senses to hear the fighter with his loud armour coming and take him out with, if not normal, magic lighting arrows. The mage (we must assume he's high level, since a low level mage is almost worthless in battle)would see him coming with his intelligence, or would see into the future weeks ahead of time and be ready for the fighter.

Balintherlas 10-08-2005 05:22 PM

yea, but u get 70 virgins right after u get through the gate.

Felix The Assassin 10-08-2005 11:36 PM

An Archer of course, equiped with a cloak of confussion, no doubt.

Ah, but that is the trick. They make you THINK it's heaven by giving you 70 virgins. Once the virgins run out though, what's left?

But i do know that arrows would have a hard time getting through the armour. Knights can also throw their weapons too making them an archer and a knight Then after the clock hits 3, we all shake hands and go in the nearest pub to watch England getting thwarted by Australia.

Also, since I don't follow football (American or European), I say we go Rammstein concert and rock out.

Brayf 10-17-2005 02:36 PM

He was talking about cricket.

armageddon272 10-17-2005 06:20 PM

Look, I don't watch any sport whatsoever. SO the Rammstein offer stands.
