Well soon these teams will play against each other. Who do you think will win? I wonder if the poll result will match the actual result.

Zarr 02-07-2005 08:22 AM

I voted for Barcelona. Chelsea are a good team although IMO Barcelona are slightly better(Although Barca didn't play very well last night: 2-0 defeat against Atletico Madrid)

It will be interesting though...

Kakero 02-08-2005 11:07 AM

Both gives no ball. So very hard to place bets. But I'm hoping for Barcelona to win. Just to stop Chelsea from winning everything.

Ivelliis 02-08-2005 01:31 PM

After drawing with Man City at the weekend, I think Chelski are missing Robben big style, I'm voting Barca

Chelski....good one. :D

RoSs_bg2_rox 02-08-2005 06:07 PM

Come on the Chelsea. I think they have been on good form lately actually, and I'm sure they'l win it.

Ivelliis 02-09-2005 01:02 PM

Do you mean win against Barca or win the Champions League altogether?

and thanks Johnny, I think it's off Football365.com

Orbost 02-21-2005 04:53 PM

Well, I think I am the only one to vote for Chelski. No doubt they are going to be fantastic games - the Spanish champs-to-be against the English champs-to-be.

Barca have the outrageously skilled Ronaldinho, and E'to is on fire at the moment. But, Chelsea just do not concede goals - how long has it been since Cech let one past him. Sure, they are missing Robben, but their defence is rock solid, and with Drogba, Duff, Lampard and Gudjonsen, they've plenty going forward.

Can't wait for the game, but I tip Chelsea to go through.

(And in the other games, I reckon ManUre will also go through, but Arsenal and, sadly, Liverpool won't make it through to the semis).

Kakero 02-23-2005 06:43 PM

Well, after the first leg, ManU lost 0 - 1. Arsenal lost 1 - 3. Chelsea lost 1 - 2. Liverpool win 3 - 1. Can we safely say which and which is now through to the next round?

johnny 02-23-2005 07:07 PM

Chelsea....what a load of crap. They spent 150.000.000€ on players, and what do they do.... they come to Barcelona and play counterfootball !!! All that money and they don't even have the balls to seek the offensive.

With such an attitude, they deserve to get their ass kicked on Stamford Bridge as well. Hats off for Barca, who played some great football, and deserved much more than the two goals they scored. But i guess it's never easy playing against an opponent who refuses to play, but rather builds a wall around their own goalie.

Well, Liverpool should go through, although we are so inconsistent this season that Leverkeusen could easily beat us 2-0 and so go through. I'll follow my heart, and tip L'pool to draw in Germany, but go through on aggregate.

Arsenal are out of it - bye bye!

ManU need to beat Milan at the San Siro - can't see it happening, so Milan to go through.

Chelsea? Well, they've got an away goal, and a fantastic defense. I reckon they might just sneak through at Stamford Bridge.

What do you reckon, Kakero?

Kakero 02-24-2005 06:04 PM

According to my not so reliable psychic vibration.
ManU is out.
Arsenal got 50 - 50% chance of going thru
Chelsea got 70% chance of going thru
Liverpool got 90% chance of going thru

Your vibration sucks, Chelsea has 00,00% chance of making the next round, since you actually have to be in possession of the ball during a match quite a few times, and most of all.... you need to score goals everey now and then, otherwise you can't win.

Kakero 02-24-2005 07:23 PM

They are in home ground now. Not away. So I reckon Chelsea will ditch the defensive tactic and do the offensive one.

Geez, why am I vying for Chelsea? I want them to lose!

Orbost 02-25-2005 12:59 AM

I want Chelsea to lose too! But they are not 9 pointe clear in the EPL for nothing. Their game is built on a rock-solid defence, and they do score goals Johnny. How many games have they one 1-0 this year? That's all they need against Barca.

Xen 02-25-2005 06:32 AM

I was expecting offensive football from Chelsea. In the first half, Chelsea had only two counter attacks and one was goal becuase Belletti got unlucky. I had a feeling that I am watching Juventus not Chelsea.
Barcelona had so many chanches it should have been 4-1 and 2-1.

I should have gone with my dad, but unfortunately I couldn't go becuase I was ill and had a high fever for six days. (39-40 degrees)
So I was chained to teas, pills and rest. I was home, sitting in my "football chair" and enjoyed the game. ;)

Kakero 02-27-2005 10:05 PM

That's too bad Xen, you could have gotten an autograph from Ronaldinho himself or even had a picture taken with him.

Orbost 02-28-2005 01:50 AM

although if you have your picture taken with Ronaldinho make sure you turn the flash off - the glare from those teeth of his!!! Sheesh!

I guess you're feeling a bit stupid now, huh Johnny? If there's been a more exciting game this year, I haven't seen it.

So, Chelsea and Liverpool (hurray!!!!) in the next round.

Kakero 03-09-2005 05:38 PM

Bah! Chelsea and Liverpool went through. Arsenal and ManU went out. Almost like my vibration says.

Did Juventus went through?

johnny 03-09-2005 08:50 PM

Nah, not feeling stupid, i've been wrong more than once when it comes to predictions in football. Besides, there's no logic in football either, the clearly better team got knocked out of the CL, because of a few personal mistakes in the first 20 minutes of the game. I stick to my earlier statement, Chelsea didn't deserve this win, their tactics come awfully close to Italian teams, and i can't think of anything more boring to watch than that. I hope that whoever meets them next kicks their asses thoroughly.

Imagine a finals between AC Milan and Chelsea.... the horror...two teams who have absolutely no intention of crossing midfield out of their own initiative. I love watching football, but if it's a match between two teams with an approach like that, i'd rather watch the grass grow.

wellard 03-10-2005 07:07 PM

Youre a bit harsh there Johnny, though I did not watch all the match it was entertaining enough. Barcelona's goal was pure fun, everyone watching his feet and footwork but not watching the ball

Imagine a Juventus vs AC Milan final. That would be really a bore match. Much like the match a few years back at Old Trafford. What a waste of time to watch it. >_>

Sure this game was entertaining, but it was Barcelona that looked after the entertainment, Chelsea sat back in the trenches and waited for what was coming their way. If that's the only way a team can play, i can have peace with it, but look at Chelsea's potential, what they SHOULD be capable of doing to an opponent, and compare that with their attitude over these two games against barcelona, the neutral footballfans can only be dissapointed with such a performance.

Harsh ? I don't think so. I would tell you how i truly feel about Chelsea and, most of all, their arrogant bastard coach, but that would most likely get me banned from these forums.
