Are you gonna buy doom3??

I've played the Alpha and I'm now wondering 'Gosh, who in their right mind would play that!?' I mean, I had a f***ing heart attack when I first met Pinky, and the main thing was that I was standing on the wall he came out of. That game is scarry to the twelvth power!
But still, for cultiral reasons I answered YES OMG YES in the poll :D

No... the thing is, when games are delayed for the 3rd time for a made up reason to give the publisher more time to hype already overhyped product then I kind of loose interest...

The "OMG The code was stolen" was cute when it happened to Halflife 2, but really just lame with Doom... who actually believes that these companies store their work on an unprotected Internet server... ?

Who actually believes that that work can be even accessed online? They released a two-years-old obsolete code and said that was the thing to buy time.

Nope [img]smile.gif[/img] I have no interest in the game, I haven't got any spare money, and my computer won't be able to run it. That's a fair set of arguments if you'd ask me ;)

Well there wont be anymore delays, as Doom 3 and Half-life 2 have both gone Gold.
Which I think means that they are bieng produced right now.

First off, I loved DOOM I and II :D

I am worried about the hype, I think it will be a dog and rely on pre release sales to make money. I hope I am wrong though.

I am definately getting it, I will be ordering my copy soon so that I get it the day it comes out, its going to be great!

I see there are people like me that need to get a comp to run the game first.

Talking about halflife 2 i think i'll have to buy it, it is such a cool game i'll, and admire the effort that has gone into it, infact i'll prereserve a copy i think.
I don't know if i'd buy doom3, it looks ok... i don't know

Ok, i have doom, it has sufficently scared the "bejebus" out of me many times, and it makes me nervous to play, shearly spectacular game though. The graphics are amazing, and it is just great, although i can only run it on the "high" detail setting, in 1024 x 768 res with 2x antialiasing, i want the "ultra" detail setting!

so upgrade now... graphics card i guess... i have a radion 9600 with 256m ddr, i just want to get halflife and be able to play it with full detail settings, doom is just a system test for the "real" thing.

Also in doom i don't like how the bodies disappear, the environment isn't interactive enough, and bullet holes don't stay there.
I must compliment the AI, the ragdoll effects, the explosion effects, the storyline as it gradually builds, deffinatly graphics, and so on.

Did you see the movie "Full Metal Jacket"? anyway a quote from it "you've got guts, and guts is enough", it think that is like doom "you've got graphics, and graphics is enough".

OK! disappearing bodies is fixed!, I now have very few complaints, just wow!
