This is fascinating.. enough to where I decided to put it on here. While my brother was staying with the family for the holidays, he had bought a game and disposed of the box. I have always saved my boxes, but I don't really know why; and now that I think about it, there really was no reason for me to keep them. So what do you do with them?

i sometimes keep my boxes but then they get smashed by others

I keep them..

Yeah, game boxes are cool. I keep them.
I've been saving them since day 1, but it's becoming a bit of a problem right now. I'm gonna need a bigger house, maybe i'll build one with all the boxes i have piled up. :D
I keep mine. I just got the NWN collector's edition, and the box is pretty cool, so I'm definitely keeping this one. Besides, it can be a nice way to store your games if you have nothing else.
Where do you keep the games out of boxes? Now that most games come in the DVD cases. I make special sure to keep collectors boxes.
We keep them. I think they look nice all lined up on the shelf. They're only really decorative though, the CDs are kept in a CD holder. They still have the manuals in them I suppose. And the registration cards lol :D
I keep them so IF my game happens to be destroyed by some odd circumstances such as your 3 yo brother, you can look at the pretty pictures and feel bad that you cant play it anymore.
My wife cuts the cover picture and system requirements off then puts them in a file cabinet with the relevant literature. It is nice and convenient when you go back to an old game.

I keep them. A lot of games come with multiple cd's, manuals, & maps. It is a good way to keep it all together. Most boxes are of good quality too.
I keep them too. This means I have piles of game boxes in my wardrobe under the hanging spaces, piles of boxes on the shelf under my computer desk, piles of boxes in cupboards at my mums house... piles of boxes everywhere.
I really am running out of room and I've started thinking about what to do with them. Don't really wanna throw em out though. All my manuals that are any use actually refering to (ie Balders Gate ) are either on my desk if I'm currently playing that game or all shoved into the top 2 game boxes under my desk (BG2 and Empire Earth boxes) ps. how sad am I, those 2 name2 were a guess but I just checked and I was right lol |
A true gamer would never throw out the box... unless the game really sucks and then it's okay. But I tend to keep the boxes anyway. It's funny to look back at that Tomb Raider 2 box and remember how dumb I was for actually buying that game :D

I always keep then because if I get really bored with them I take them in and trade for other games. And I like to line them up on my self. ;)

I keep all video games boxes until...
1) My mom decides that the house to too small and my "useless boxes" are taking up space and throws them away while I am at school. 2) They become smashed until they look so bad they are asking me to put them out of their misery. I even have all my console boxes all the ay back to the golden age of the NES. Ah, the memories of my childhood. They remind me much of my teenage years... playing video games and watching cartoons ;) |
I keep them.

I always have kept them and always will. (even when I'm old like larry :D ) (joking larry don't kill me!!!)
I keep them, although I had to clear an entire bookshelf of books, because they look far more impressive than books (even if their content is worse than those of books). The downside of doing this is, that anyone who enters my room almost instantly notices how much money I spend on games. The DVD cases of newer games take far less space, but I don't like them them, because they are far less attractive and impressive.

Ive always kept them and know there getting smaller so its easyer and they look cool
I keep so I can look at them when something is loading slow.
I always keep them for a few months anyway, just in case something goes wrong.
