Yes yet *another* FF question! [img]smile.gif[/img] Who is your favorite FF character and why? Mine is probably Auron. He seems to know everything all the time. Wait until you get to hear his *full* story Starshadow. Oh and I love it when he says "Farewell..." as he kills something! ;)

Oh, sounds interesting, Redblueflare. I can't wait until I get my grubby little hands on a copy of the game (indeed, I have decided to get it, as soon as the necessary fundage becomes available).

I have a couple of favorites, depending on the game. Here's my list:

1. Shadow from FF6 (or 3). How can you not like him? Plus, he throws things with great power. And his random dreams when staying at the inn? Oh my, talk about mystery. Such a great character.
2. Quistis from FF8. Yes, I have a slight obsession. Healthy, my doctor tells me. ;)
3. Aeris from FF7. She's so cute! And her death scene really moved me.
4&5. Terra and Celes from FF6(3). Characters of pure awesomeness. Great magic, and can hand out some beatings with swords. Terra's beautiful innocence and Celes' bravery as a general (*swoon* a female general); great characters.

And from FF Tactics: Rafa. Maybe not some people's favorite, but she's cute and useful for finding secret items because of her love Brave. I like to make her a Chemist and have her use a gun.

EDIT: Hmm, most of my favorites are females. I guess I have a soft spot for them.

I liked Aeris, but wound up pursuing Tife. The childhood ties she had with Cloud made me feel for her, as I saw her as the friend who wants to be more but is afraid to risk it. Plus, she looks great when she poses at the end of a battle. [img]smile.gif[/img]

Lord StarShadow when you scrape up the cash to buy FFX I highly reccommend you watch Auron. He does *several* weird little things that make you wonder what he's all about. Watch him, but i'm not going to tell you *anything* else. FF fans like it that way. [img]smile.gif[/img]

Arnabas Tifa was my 3rd favorite character! [img]tongue.gif[/img] I dunno why but I just didn't like her as much as I did Aeris. Even though she stuck around a lot longer. :(

Cecil and Kain (FF2) + Shadow(FF6)

Kain (FF2/4) was actually one of my favorite characters for a long time. I always sympathized with him about the whole Rosa thing. Then again, I also sympathized with Lance (the blue guy from Voltron) for the basically the same reasons. I found Kain to be even cooler than Edge, even with the whole ninja thing. I totally wish I could've had him around longer, but I suppose someone has to drive the story.

BTW, was Kain the only left-handed character? I'm trying hard to remember, but I can't for the life of me think of another left-handed character.

In all FF games I have played , one person quickly come to mind. he is...

SEPHIROTH !!!

man he is cool ( to me ) ! He is invincible ( if you manage to get him into your party via cheats ) ! He got a really powerful summon, ie , Super Nova ( that damn summon just repeatedly destroy every planet in the solar system hehehe...).

Having only ever played FF.VII seriously I say Yuffie! (the rest belonged to an ex) Something just made me like her.

Cid from FFVII. He was very funny especially the scenes when you first meet him.

I think nearly all of the playable characters of the FF series have their own songs. So, that isn't so big of a thing. [img]smile.gif[/img] Terra's and Shadow's are the best, I think, with Freya (FF9) being up there as well.

I would never forget Aeris' theme! It's just not one of my super favorites like the ones I mentioned are. I still really like it, though; it's a great song.

I haven't played Kingdom Hearts, so I don't know if there are any other themes in there. Sephiroth was a good villian, but not a great villian, in my opinion. He did so cool villian stuff, but he as a character wasn't all that great. He's no Kefka, let me tell you.

Least favorite character? It has to be Gau from FF6. I could never stand to play with him. To make him bearable, I would imp him and put on all the imp stuff on him so he didn't have to Rage. He was decent, then.

I hate to break it to all you FF6 lovers but I haven't seen anything about Kefka to make accept the fact that he's supposedly the *greatest* FF villian. Of course i'm not out of the world of balance yet, so i'll keep my eyes open [img]tongue.gif[/img] . And I don't like Gau much either. ;)

I didn't realize that I spelled villain 'villian' in my previous post! Whoops, my bad!

Anyway, RBF you really haven't seen much Kefka vileness, then, have you? The poisoning of Doma even though he was ordered not to do something like that wasn't very nice, though I suppose that isn't villainous enough for most of you. I see what you're saying yeah that was evil yes. :D But Sephiroth also burned down an entire village. On the other hand, Sephiroth attempted to mess up the world, while Kefka actually succeeded. Saw my friend playing before. And who can forget that laugh? [img]graemlins/laugh3.gif[/img]

My favorite FF character is the Thing. I love his Clancy St. sayings and who doesn't love "It's Clobberin' Time"? The dynamic tension between a sensitive nature trapped in an ugly shell is a classic of the comic book genre.

And he was supposed to have been executed already! Whatever happened to that??? BTW Lord Starshadow I found Relm and I like her. A 10 year old who's matured way before her time, lmao! :D

Oh, it would've been sweet to have General Leo in your party, but don't you think it'd make it a bit too easy? That Shock attack would just be killer.

I don't have nothing against Relm as a character, but in my party... well, I'd rather take anyone else (but Gau, never Gau). She's funny and witty, just not part of my fighting style: brute force. So you'll probably like her in your party as well.

BTW, did you find the Atma Weapon?

No but since someone ruined the fact that Atma weapon was a boss (not you btw) [img]tongue.gif[/img] I can take an educated guess where to get it. :D Yeah I like Relm in battle because like i've said before Magic is a particular fave of mine in FF. Even in FFVII, when I could just do quad cut for about 36,0000, I usually attacked with quad magic freeze for *much* less damage. Than i used quad cut ;) I've changed my mind now Kefka is pretty evil. You never get to see much of Sephiroth in FFVII, and when you do he's usually running away. [img]smile.gif[/img] *edit* Oh and Shock would've stolen the fun out of the game.

Hate to break it to you, but you do not get the Atma Weapon from, uh, Atma Weapon. It was in the cave that leads to the Esper Gate. I don't know if you can go back there and look for it or not. But as a magic user, you probably don't need it. It is required for me, on the other hand. I put it on Terra, and she goes nuts with it. Ah, my darling Terra: so cute, so deadly. [img]smile.gif[/img]

I think for the most part in FFs, you can potentially do more damage physically attacking (with quad-slashes, offerings, etc.) than with spells (except Eden; that is some serious magic). Magic is still important though, with the bosses and the one place in FF6 where you can only use magic. That should be fun for you!

Well i'll see if I can still get it, but I could've sworn you were able to steal one from Atma weapon. [img]tongue.gif[/img] That would've made sense. I use physical attacks too, it just depends on the situation really. Still magic looks *so* much cooler most of the time. ;)

Magic does look far cooler. I really enjoy throwing a couple of nukes... er, I mean Ultimas... at a group of enemies. It's just so cool to see. My favorite. [img]smile.gif[/img]

Nuke that would be Flare in FFIV right? [img]tongue.gif[/img] If you think the magic looks nice right now, wait until you play FFX. Eye candy galore! ;) Not to mention the aeon attacks, and overdrives. Sheesh. Oh and when you play FFX i'm sure you'll love Rikku. Being able to mix any two items together for effects really makes her interesting. And there are *alot* of combinations. :D

I'm sure there'll be a lot of eye-candy in FFX. Magic seems to get more and more detailed the further the series goes, which is cool.

Rikku, eh? She has to be really cute in addition to being cool to be one of my favorites. ;)

Flare is not a nuke. Flare is cool, but... hmm, I don't know how I'd describe it. Not as a nuke, though. Speaking of cool spells, Pearl is kinda neat.

Are there WEAPONS in FFX? (not swords etc [img]tongue.gif[/img] I know that!)

You're right In FF III Flare is definitely *not* a nuke. [img]tongue.gif[/img] Pearl/holy is so much stronger. In FFX though, Ultima was just a *little* stronger than Flare, but hit all enemies. Both Flare and Pearl look surprisingly cool though. For an Snes game I mean. ;) And no I have not quite finished FF III yet.
Yup. You get to fight Ultimate and Omega weapon. Both somewhat weak. Now the Nemesis, the created monster that looks like Omega weapon, was scary. You're going to have to be poweful to beat him. He's the last original monster btw, and I actually had to *train* to beat him. :D After you win you get the Mark of conquest. It does nothing. *sigh* :D

WOW! We have the Exact same opinion on all these characters, except for the fact that I'm not obsessing on Quistis.
