I would've put this in the TOB forum, but there are a lot more monsters than those in TOB. Those dang things in FF8 which had access to every status in the game were one of the most annoying enemies ever!!! The minions of destructions in Diablo 2, and Demiliches take second place! What about you guys?

------------------
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, I just don't have to listen. http://train.missouri.org/~prestons/.../flamedrag.gif

catzenpewters 08-20-2001 04:41 PM

Gotta be the amazoni mantraps/jungle lilies in Wizards and Warriors. Those things are SCARY when you first meet them, and unbelievably annoying even when you're really tough yourself!

SSJ4Sephiroth 08-20-2001 05:04 PM

id hafta say those lil scissor zombie guys from the North Crater in ff7. they can kill your ppl in one hit no matter how many hps they have! of course, the Tonberries take second, because it takes soo long to kill them, and they can kill your ppl in 1 hit too! and the Illithids take 3rd place, seeing as how their psionic blast and domination spells are some of the most annoying pieces of crap to ever graze my computer screen!

------------------
With each kill, I grow wiser, and with added wisdom, I grow stronger. Does anybody have any idea what this means?

Sharpedge 08-20-2001 06:11 PM

Yeah, I really can't stand Illithids. They seem to be able to zero out the person with the lowest intelligence and start crowding round for instant brain-chow. Green slimes are a pet hate too. One failed save and your character turns green and splatters all over the place, plus they are worth virtually no exp.

Finally, Hojo from FFVII, beacuse when I first fought him I had sped thru the game and missed all the ribbons. That attack he does where he combos your party members and puts them to sleep with the last blow had me really grinding my teeth. Add that to the fact nobody could have cast spells even if they were awake as he had silenced them all.

I was very angry.

Then I got some ribbons and had my horrible revenge http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif

trux 08-20-2001 10:00 PM

The Tarrasque from D&D. If any party, no matter how powerful, came face to face with a Tarrasque, there would be NO chance they live to tell about it. Truly a dreaded beast.

I don't really hate it, though. Just never want a PnP character to run into one.

I hate gibberlings in BGII. It's like, enough already, my party is sick of stepping over these little bastards.

"Ultimate weapon" ala ff7. I could not do it. My girlfriend did though just last month, I watched. Of course she was lvl 95-99 with everything you could possibly get in the game with-out entering the last dungeon. She did all that while working on her masters degree and finished with a 3.8 gpa. Wow!

I really hate those little dorks in the 3rd chapter of DiabloII. They suck! They are no hard enemies, but when you save and leave, they´re all there again the next time you load the game. That really made my left eye twitch...

It's simple. Once the Planet is hurt, it gathers Spirit Energy to heal the injury. The amount of energy gathered depends on the size of the injury...What would happen if there was an injury that threatened the very life of the Planet? Think how much energy would be gathered! Ha, ha, ha. And at the center of that injury, wil be me. All that boundless energy will be mine. By merging with the energy of the Planet, I will be come a new life form, a new existence. Melding with the Planet, I will cease to exist as I am now. Only to be reborn as a 'God' to rule over every living soul.

If you've played Legacy of Kain:Soul Reaver..I'd say its those little things that keep running around in a circle so that you can never catch them. Irritated me to no end.

And possibly Ruby Weapon in FF7. I mimed Knights of Round so many times my computer crashed before I beat it http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/frown.gif
Malboros in FF8 were killers too, before I encountered Ribbon.
Beholders, Gauths, nearly impossible without using cheap items..

And maybe those computer controlled bastards in Heroes of Might and Magic 3
Whenever the computer is in a losing situation in a battle, it always leads its troops inbetween my dragons and power units (like Return of the Jedi) and forces my dragon's friendly fire to kill my own troops. Pisses me off to no end..

I hate the Chryssalis (sp?) from UFO - Enemy Unknown.
It's old, but I hate it all the same...

For those who don't remember, UFO was played in turn-based mode, and your agents had to stop the aliens (MR. C being one of them). You could walk around on a map, and with more time units you could walk farther. Now Mr. C, he had like four times as many TU's as the fastest agent, so he could suddenly appear from behind a corner, attack, and run away. To make things worse, if his attack hit then your agent would be controlled by the enemy from then on. Aaaaaarrrrrrrghhhhhhh!!!!!!! (by the way, it was very frustrating too...http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif)

Any monster from the Call of Cthulhu game. You're an ordinary human going up against enemies with natural (and often super-natural) powers.

It is almost completely impossible to survive in the game.
