Living in the land of beer, kraut and oktoberfest, i simply had to post this one day. My one and only is "Smithwickīs" or "Killkenny", as itīs called in Germany. Itīs an irish brand, maybe some europeans happen to know it. IMHO, "Karamalz" malt beer is the best among non-alcoholics.

When I did drink, an ice cold Miller High Life or Budweiser would work just fine.

Other than that, for everyday use, my wife and I drink Zeigenbock.

At the moment, Labatt's Genuine Draft, though I love a Guiness now and then. Always happy to try a new beer though! http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

G'kar 08-20-2001 06:16 PM

Guiness Stout, no doubt.

debiler 08-20-2001 06:35 PM

To all you guiness lovers out there: Have you ever tried a "snakebite"? That is a 3/5 pint of guiness, 3/10 apple cider and 1/10 cassis. Itīs a big party for your palate. *sigh* Itīs so hot in here...

I love a cold Killian's. However, the best beer I've ever tasted was a dark brew I bought at a store near my apartment at school and for the life of me I can't remember the name of it. Been trying to think of it for two years now, and I never saw it there again. The elusive mystical beer!

Killians or Amberbock. I use to drink light beer, but I've gone back to regular. Much better taste, and I'm getting to old to worry about my figure anyway!

I have two : "la Blanche de Chambly" and "La fin du monde" both, as far as I know, are only available in Quebec.

Diogenes Of Pumpkintown 08-22-2001 11:28 AM

St. Teresa's Pale Ale by the Highland Brewing Co. out of Asheville, NC.

Of course, I will likely have a new favorite by the end of the year. Sampling new beers is always a pleasure http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif

Really? Hm, I like the taste, but itīs so very thin. Maybe if itīs ice cold and if I donīt drink it right out of the bottle...yep, could be good. But I really do like HEAVY beers.

You won't get an argument for me on that Yorick. On a hot day a pint of Dry Blackthorn, Copperhead or Red Rock really hits the spot.

Wow that's so cool! I love Smithwick's! I believe it may have been the first beer I ever drank....I was ten and on holidays in Ireland when I got to take a little sip from my father's glass...the next time I visited Ireland I demanded my own pint! http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif
But I'm not really much of a beer drinker (only on a hot summer day in a pub http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif)...I prefer water (gasp...blasphemy?? http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...les/tongue.gif) and when I drink alcohol it's usually wine or single malt whisky. Though I must say I've gotten a taste for ouzo as well recently...mmmm!

Well, how was your trip to greece? It seems that you took at least one impression with youhttp://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif. So you are a whiskey drinker, right? We have a wonderful irish pub in the city next to where I live. Just arrived from there*hic*. Weīve been meeting there every thursday eve in the last 5 years(since my age allowed me to drink alcohol). At the beginning I was rather nuts on whiskey, but now itīs mostly beer(Smithwickīs, Snakebite, Harp[one Lager I like]) or - I forgot about that - Martini bianco. What a drink!http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/smile.gifhttp://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/smile.gifhttp://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

My trip to ouz.... ah Greece? It was great!! I really hate alcohol abuse and have never drunk too much in my life (which in my case means never over 6 glasses), but I have to admit I had such great fun one night when me and my sister decided to go out and have cocktails...heh http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif

Damn the yuppy beer!!!!!!! Good ole utilitarian Budweiser works for me! An affordable yet delightful beer with a wonderful bouquet and aged several weeks in the finest cans and bottles that America can mass produce! It doesnt require a bottle opener, although you can sniff the caps to determine vintage.

My votes with you! I think the frogs said it best! Louis was good, but he just lost sight of the dream. Too much time with the ferret I think. Doesn't one of you have a sig. about this?
