Although most adults I know hate it, I like rap music. I've been getting into punk music lately too. (Although I can't stand heavy metal.) My favorite instrument is the guitar. What do you people like?

I like most music, but dislike anything that glorifies violence or direct evil to others (I do like rap, country, some heavy metal, though). I used to despise classical music when I was just starting on the piano, but now I like it more and more. Having played piano for several years, my brain's now attuned to the sound, and I prefer any music that has some piano in it. I won't at all brag about my playing, however (where's the soundproof room when you need it???).

trux 07-25-2001 07:03 PM

I like all types of music. I would have to say the genre I listen to least is rap, though I do like some (Wu tang, Afroman, etc.)

I dig alot of classic rock, blues, jazz, but hate most modern music. In fact, I could probably count less than 20 bands emerging within the past 15 years that I would say I really love. Most of what I listen to would come from the classic rock genre.

The only types of music I will not listen to are country and pop.

Is it just my critical nature, or does all the new American rock bands sound the same? These whining, brooding, "my life is so tragic" suburban wanna-be dark genero-pedestrian Creed-punks have little talent and even less creativity.

Wow...that turned into quite a maniacal rant. Oops.

Oh yeah, favorite instrument = guitar, of course. Followed closely by bass.

Well I do not play any kind of instument. Now on to the music I like. I am in to Tool right now with the new disc out. Rage Against the Machine to bad they are no longer around. Perfect cirlce are always good seen them play last summer great show. Deftones(did I spell that right). Red hot chilly peppers. Godsmack,Stain. All kinds of stuff. Not into rap a whole bunch(to much booty goin on there). And I wish country would die soon hehehe. Sorry country fans.

Moni 07-25-2001 11:35 PM

I listen to a wide variety of music, mostly alternative or new rock or classical.
Keep the country on mute LOL!
Instruments...depends on who is playing them http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif
Melt me with a sexy sax any day of the week, sooth me with violins, rock me with a guitar or make me miss home with some banjo and a dulcimer. http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif
I like music and used to play a variety of instruments by ear (with the exception of the piano) since I never knew how to read music until later but I haven't applied any of that knowledge to my everyday living for over a decade so its kinda moot now huh?

I love classical and opera. I like alternative and techno. I don't mind rock, heavy-metal. I cannot stand rap and country.

As for my favorite instrument, it would be the cello.

Lets see - I love classical music but am beginning to get into modern music like techno. I have played piano for 9 years and violin for 5 years but am not that good because im too lazy to practice http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif. My favorite instrument would, therefore, be violin or piano (you learn to appreciate it more when you play it)

Good choice.

I like and play the elec. guitar, accustics are cool too.

My favorit music would defiantly be metal.

Metal as in:Iron Maiden, Old Mettlica, Yngwie Malmsteen.Ozzy (Who cant love him?)

"Nu Metal" or "Chunk Chunk Metal" absoulty sucks in my opinon. As dose Rap and Country.

However I do like some of the old Country-Rock (Lynard Syknard type stuff) Some Classic Rock (Doors, Hendrix, ZZ Top).

CLassic Metal (Sabbath, Zeplin ect.) Rocks the hell outta everyhting else though.

Favourite instrument - difficult. Probably violin, or any woodwind. Drums.

I like music played out of doors too - steel bands, brass bands, anything loud and exciting. Drums. Gimme drums outside!

I love Floyd. I know I am probably in the minority here, but my favorite album of theirs is "The Final Cut"

As for instruments, wow, thats a tough one. I love the violin, it can be so mournful, the piano too (especially Moonlight Sonata). Oh yes, and the steel guitar in "Fire on the Mountain" (incredibly haunting)

As for music, I refuse to choose! I simply can't. (will I be banned forever if I say that I LOVE Neil Diamond?)

A cello, a lone cello does it for me. I've arranged strings on some independant records I've produced and literally cried when it's come to mixdown. (But don't tell anyone)

Bonnie Tyler (esp. Holding Out for a Hero!) and Mike Oldfield are cool too! Love the album with '5 miles out' on it!

And you never did think that it ever would happen again, in America did you? And you never did think that we'd ever get together again, but we damn sure fooled ya. We're walkin' real proud and we're talkin' real loud again, in America. And you never did think that it ever would happen again.... (Charlie Daniels)
