Home brew is best...
Micro Brews ar very good...
When I'm too lazy for either of those any Panther 'sweat' will do.

robertthebard 02-17-2006 12:40 PM

Bud Light rules...

GUINESS!!!

Ivelliis 02-17-2006 01:15 PM

Not that I drink or anything...but if I did...I would like a nice can of Fosters. *wink*

My dad drinks Guiness, and once a can exploded in our fridge, and we complained and they sent us free gifts, including, but not limited to:
A harmonica
A comb-over wig
A chef hat
A magic wand

Guiness rock!

RoSs_bg2_rox 02-17-2006 01:22 PM

Fosters is pish.

Guiness please thanks. Stella comes a close second, and Miller is usually around to.

My local!

Ivelliis 02-17-2006 02:43 PM

I'm guessing Stella would be nice (( Again, *wink* )), but when it is a few months out of date it is not *shudders*

Stuie 02-17-2006 02:47 PM

Lord Chesterfield Ale is my current beverage of choice at home.

Going out opens up all sorts of possibilities...

Chris of the Dale 02-17-2006 06:42 PM

My favourite beer right now is Alexander Keith's Indian Pale Ale. Other than that I usually drink Labatt Blue. I would like to try Guiness again, I have only gotten it once, but I accidently bought extra stout and I wasn't very fond of it.

Erm...excuse me, but i don't even consider that beer, a warm bucket of hamster vomit sounds more appealing to me than anything that ends with "light".

You want a real beer ? Try this one...

That'll put some colour on your cheeks.

Eh, beer is beer really. If someone wants to drink bud light or whatever and get drunk and piss all night more power to them. If you wanna pour a bottle of sludge into a glass and walk around with your pinky stuck out like you are in a wine tasting then go for it. I usually stick somewhere in the middle. Killians for personal consumption, although lately I have been drinking alot of amber boch too. I don't have a problem buying a case of bud/miller/coors light if I am going to have a bunch of people over drinking my stash either. Although on my first trip to new york I tried Stella and was pretty surprised. It wasn't too bad even with the aftertaste. Oh well, quah.

Someone gave me a Grolsh once and if ever there's a beer i want to try again, that'd be it. The bottles are great for homebrewing too.

Never had a Fosters.

If i'm feeling rich and snooty, i'll have a Crown lager. I used to drink 'em all the time so i could save enough bottles for homebrew. The labels are glued on pretty good though.

Apart from that, i'll just drink Swan lager.

Callum 02-18-2006 05:07 AM

I hate the stuff...

I can't drink anything fizzy anyway...

No, not really. A Bud light is at most a pilsner. Beer is reserved for those special examples which have the 'special beer' name. Triples, dubbles, trappist, blondes, all come to mind.

That said, I usually abhor most pilsners, they are total ripoffs in taste and cash value against my favourite belgian beers like Leffe triple(8%) and La Trappe Quadrupel(10%). Only when I'm in the mood will I drink a couple of those, and I restrict myself to Hertog Jan or Jupiler, brands like Heineken and Grolsch are total toxic waste, but I do hear Heineken is brewed differently out of Holland.

P.S. and Guinnes makes your feces black and turns you fat.

Yah, I guess I shoulda said that to me, beer is beer. I know there are tons of different types but I really don't drink enough to be a beer snob. If I just wanna get a good buzz I will usually drink 5 or 6 and just cruise for the rest of the night. If I wanna get shitfaced liquor is the only thing that tears me up. We made a vat of long island iced teas that had me passed out, although I prefer Crown Royal, on the rocks or mixed with coke depending on the situation.

johnny 02-18-2006 09:25 AM

I'm no snob either, but i drink beer to get drunk, and i'm sorry, but Bud Light isn't going to cut it. It'll take a truckload of that stuff to get a bit a weird light feeling in the head. The beer in the pic i posted is a special brew from Grolsch, and it contains somewhat 13% alcohol and it has a strong bitter taste, exactly the way i like it.

Madman-Rogovich 02-18-2006 09:55 AM

Depends on my budget, If I'm flush and out on the lash then I'll usually go for some Leffe blonde, or Chiti blonde or Asahi, Harp, foreign export guinness (the nigerian stuff) or even an icey glass of Heineken, or Kronenbourg.

Unfortunately Im rarely flush, so have to stick to Tennants super or carlsberg special. :D

Dont think I could pick a favourite, it'd be like a father choosing his favourite child

Marathon 02-18-2006 11:18 AM

Sammy Smith Oatmeal Stout, or Bell Stout for me.

Sir Degrader 02-18-2006 11:27 AM

STELLA! or Sleeman Porter. I'm 16 though, and don't drink while in the city/during the academic year, so I'm not sure if thats such a good answer lol.

16 is the perfect age to start young padawan. :D

Sir Krustin 02-18-2006 08:08 PM

Keiths
Moosehead
Coopers
Stella
Leffe Blonde
Mardesous 10
Guiness/Strongbow (snakebite)

Bud Lite? American beer is like making love in the bottom of a canoe - f'ing close to water!

...And Fosters is never drank by true australians (nor smart foreigners, either)

Almost forgot, I'm usually found at the best little pub in southern ontario, known as McThirsty's Pint

Hmm, I finally am interested enough to post a reply in the gd forum, and its about beer.

Anyway, ever since I visited Australia a few years ago I can't drink enough Coopers, the sparkling ale is my favorite. Although I do like local breweries here in the US too. Anyone ever drink Magic Hat or Harpoon?

My favorite Beer is no longer made. It's an
American beer that was called Bud Malt Dark'
it was 18.5% and won The world beer taste at
Octoberfest in Germany in 1969 under a false
name so that nobody new it was made in america.
It was a very stout and bitter Malt that they
only mqade at 4 of the 22 Budwiser brewers.
Budwiser quit makeing it in 1974 because it cost
50% more to make than what they sold it.They also
stopped brewing it due to the retarted Liquor laws
in the U.S.A. saying Beer couldn't contain more than 8%

When I was in the military I was able to tour
alot of Europe,Aisa & even made it to sidney
once. The closest Beer I ever had to it was at
a couple little pubs in Ireland. One was in
Ballycastle northern Irland and the other was
farther to the west in the Irish Freestate at
Port Noo. I cant remember the name of it but
it was brewed in Killybega and I believe was
a limited Dark Brew and they normally don't
sell to outsiders like me But, I was there
with my cousins that live in Fintona Northern
Ireland. All I can say is 6 pints of that beer
and you find yourself out in a field chasing
little wild animals (I guess it was a fox)
slurring out the words "Here Kitty Kittyyy gooood
Lllittle Kitty" while everbody from the Pub
laughed their ass off at me. I really don't
remember that part but I still get teased by my
uncle in my Christmas greeting cards every year
from my family in Ireland. I do remember that
Was what I considered the best Beer on earth.
I can say that I have had beer and ale in over
40 different countries and Dark stout Malt Liquor is
by far the best IMHO no mater where it's brewed.
:D Bottoms up

that is definitely my favorite beer i drink most of the time. i love stouts, Rogue Brewery's, Shakespeare Stout is probably the best stout I have ever tried. I definitely suggest you check it out if you are a stout fan, its hard to find where i live though, so I dont get to drink it too often.

AzRaeL StoRmBlaDe 02-21-2006 02:20 AM

I live in cleveland and until i turned 21 I thought nothing good came out of cleveland( obviously no Lebron James at that point), but then i tried some beers from the great lakes brewery and they changed my life. their christmas ale approx 8.5% is simply amazing and almost makes it worth getting through a cold cleveland winter for. Nosferatu their red ale (9%) is pretty good too but sold only in 4 pack and for a high price. their blackout stout (% unknown by me off hand) is a stout with a hint of blackberry but its very very very good and a high % is pretty good. their most known beer Dortmunder Gold is the only american lager i will drink other than sam adams, and their burning river ale is simply amazing and I am sipping on one right now. supposedly they have other beers they do not bottle at their brewery but it is hard to find and i worry about driving home from it, so I have never been there, but soon i shall revel in it, with a sorry sap of a DD. cheers

Bithron 02-22-2006 10:36 AM

Don't drink beer that makes you *urinate*!
