This is a modified reminder that I've posted before in reply to someone asking "can we spam the cafe". It still holds true, so I'm going to repeat it periodically for anyone who hasn't seen it. Read the first post of the thread, it's NOT a spam zone. If you want to discuss you grades, a problem with a teacher, the weather, your neighbor's new car etc.....etc.. (real life conversations) this is the place. I don't mind a SMALL amount of spam but when the Cafe gets to be 8 pages in one day and it's all one liner pure spam, I have to ask people not to do it because most of the members who would come to talk about their day or things that they want advice or sympathy or cheers on, will not post in that atmosphere. I want you to be comfy here, but not at the expense of other members. So the answer is NO, I don't want to see page after page of roleplay spam or one liner spamfests that could be done on msn or aim etc. because our goal is to TALK WITH one another , not fill up a cafe in five hours. ;) |
HELLO! Spring isn't here yet, I'm sure of that, groundhog or no groundhog and his shadows!
How is everyone today?! I'm off to take minutes of a meeting in a little while. Dull, but at least it's warmer in the conference room than here at my desk! :D And I've got a diet coke with lime to help keep me awake, so two hours should go...err..relatively quickly, then it's lunch time! whoohoo! High fiber garlic and herb tortilla wrap, light corned beef and fig newtons...mmmm.... oops, best save the drooling for after the meeting! LOL Muffins, cookies and hot chocolate for everyone! |
First none Cloudy post!
Now to add something worthwhile... Half way through the week, woo hoo. Two more days, then it's Friday, then the weekend, which is nice. Wasn't feeling very well this morning but my mum said I had missed too many days off school so I had to go. I feel better, which is good, 'cause if I stayed off I wouldn't be allowed to go to football tonight. My mate lent me the album by The Streets (A Grand Don't Come For Free). It's pretty good, not as good as Arctic Monkeys, but good none-the-less. Got to go get ready and have to dinner! [ 02-08-2006, 10:52 AM: Message edited by: Ivelliis ] |
Monkeys on arctic streets? Oh my.... :D Hope you feel better, Ivellis.
|
They are the next big band Cloudy. I don't know how to describe it, indie rock kind of thing.
Won in football (scored a hat-trick *beams*) and now I'm sat in a dressing gown with a warm cup of tea. Nice *beams* |
Cloudy, you seem to be drooling over everything these days... ;)
Congrats on the hat trick, Ivelliis! Although I have to confess I had to check where you're from to make it fit in my reality... On the road again... a couple of days in Detroit meeting with customers and prospects. Red Wings on the TV tonight... man, I'm gonna be living like a king :D |

Darnit...
Last night, that would have been all caps and profane, but this morning, it just seems to have withered away into something pathetic. It happened. What always happens. Some other guy, this time a guy I'm kind of friends with, but have little respect for...So, I had to spend an hour and a half pouring my heart out to her via the wrong communication medium, and recieved an ambiguous answer. This one's worth a bit of a struggle...I really do care about her...but I can't let this get to me the way it did last semester. Lonliness...that's something I need to get out of my life before it causes real damage. So, Lyle Goodwin is at bat, two balls, one strike, bases loaded and we're down by 3 at the bottom of the ninth. Blow this, and I'm gonna feel it. |
Look at me, I managed to get onto the front page of the Cafe...woo hoo.
Ok, spam part over...I can relate to Ivellis' being sick, as if everything else that's going on with me wasn't enough, I got that nasty flu bug last week, and man, was I hating life. *Shudder*x2. I've spent the last week or so revamping my website, trying to get it noticed. It's just about my only hope right now. |

Hey Ivellis! Share that tea? It's a cold morning over here in the frozen North! I've got to remember to take the box out of my car and into the house- I'm sorting old clothes out to take to the Salvation Army and snagged a few empty boxes from work after we got supplies in. Sorting the clothes out is a little tedious as I need to try on some of them...I'm dumping the too big stuff.. whoohooo! Boy does that ever feel great. Not tossing the stuff I really like (or seeing the money go out the door) but actually HAVING to get rid of stuff because it's ridiculously big is a big ol' ego booster, let me tell ya! :D |
Ilander...HUGS are in order so here are a few to help! I hope you can find some fun and joy in life even if there are some painful things going on...I could say 'there's always another fish in the sea' or some such trite thing but I really hope you connect with this one if she's the right one and if not- move on, live life and know that there's always tomorrow...and sometimes it's today!
Ok ok..sage wisdome mode disengaged... MamaCloud |
<H1>LADYZEKKE, your pm box is full! :D </h1>

Oh LADYZ...............! Your mailbox is STILL FULL!
|
Just got a message from our work server- they are taking us offline to do some 'unscheduled maintenance'. Hmm...that doesn't sound good!
Now, I guess I'll get some work done for the time it's offline. :D |
Bummer, Ilander... there's nothing quite so naked as the feeling you get when you open your heart and soul to another. If they respect and honor it, then your life is wondrous and complete. If not, it's cold, and empty, and lonely, and isolated, and...
Okay. I'll stop that now ;) Just remember that sometimes, it doesn't work out. And sometimes, it works out again later. In the meantime, rely on your friends... they like you anyway |
Thanks, Bungleau, Cloudy...Life's hard when you wear your heart on your sleeve...what with gusts of cold wind and cirulation issues...
Right now, the odds really are 50/50, but that's better than I've gotten in a while! |
Holy crow, Cloudy, 5 posts in a row? How come we can't do that?
|
Because we have rabies.
|
Because you're not the queen of <strike>spa</strike> ultra-useful posting ;)

I wish you luck Ilander. I was never good at all that stuff - explains why I can't get a relationship past 3 weeks.
I am starting to really get annoyed with my body. I finally come back from my back injury, and I go in on a breakaway when I get slashed in the hand, breaking my thumb. :( |
Wow T_M!
You must be tough as an old Viking by now, man... [ 02-10-2006, 07:49 AM: Message edited by: Ilander ] |

Humpf! :D More like...um...meatloaf, yah... good wholesome meatloaf with low fat beef and low salt, yah! *indignant stamp of foot* No spam here... *blink blink* *giggle* Ilander, 50/50's not so bad. But either way, like Bungleau said, you've got friends and that's terrific! True Moose..ouch, I guess hockey's not for the weak of stomach...all those cuts, bruises, breaks and contusions ...eef! Hmmm... maybe the gods are telling you that you shouldn't play hockey, T_M. Perhaps you should switch to that other Canadian national pastime... drinking beer
In any case, bummer to hear about your thumb! I hope it heals quickly... |
Ooops hehe. Errr, PM box not fully anymore. :D
|
LadyZ- hehe! Good! :D
Well, gang, I'm off to lunch! See you later! |
Anybody been watching the opening of the Olympic Games in Torino?
|
Can't from work, but I may catch some highlights on the news tonight!
|
Got snow on its way for tomorrow, and it supposed to hit yall too Cloudy!
I left work early to get some grocery shopping done, and to buy a new microwave. The old microwave, which is only TWO years old, died. A month ago the 2 button went out LOL, then the 5 button went out. Got to the point we had to do some math to get the right time we wanted LOL. Funny though, found out you can just put in 1.60 for two mintues, didn't think it'd let you do that! Anyway it's dead now. So I go to Target and find one, a guy helped me get it into the cart, he offerred to help me take it to my car and like an idiot I said no, thinking I could just roll the cart to my car and transfer no problem. LOL took me 10 minutes to lift that sucker out of the cart, thing must way as much as I do! I could hear a car running somewhere too in the parking lot the entire time I struggled with the damn thing LOL, so I'm sure I gave somebody some entertainment! [ 02-10-2006, 04:13 PM: Message edited by: ladyzekke ] |
LOL! At least you managed to get get it home! Happy New Microwave, LZ! I am using a tiny one I had bought to use at work several years ago (no place to put it now in the new offices). Our big one just went 'POP' one day and everything went blank on the screen. Methinks it blew it's power source or something. It had been drawing power unevenly for a few days before it croaked on us.
Snow...yuk! We may only get a few inches where I am, but south and east of us (down your way and out to Boston) they are expecting a Nor'easter, with up to a foot of snow in the NYC and Boston areas! |
Have fun with the snow you two. I can picture you two making snowman... wait wait wait that was a dream I had never mind.
What brand of micro-wave you get? Man o man so slow at work for the next two months. Lord help me. Go go Edmonton oilers tonight. Sir G get that rabbit foot out. |
Wow, ok question.
When you reopen a scar,is it supposed to bleed for a long time? |
Oh well cool then Cloudy, glad yall won't get a lot of snow from this system. I'm hoping we don't get that much either, but no tellin, the newspeople, as usual, are all puffed up about it LOL.
You have odd dreams Mack Attack LOL. I won't be making any snowmen tomorrow, but I will have to shovel our walkway and around my car, will be home alone all day, wah. Oh and I got an Emerson microwave. Just cause we've had an Emerson mic at my work for 15 years and it still works just fine. The one that died was a Sharp btw. So hopefully this new one will last more than two measily years LOL. Funny, it has all these extra buttons, they always crack me up. Like "chicken". Ok what kind of chicken, cooked leftovers or raw chicken? How does it know LOL? Then there is one I see called "dinner plate" rotfl. How do they know what's on the dinner plate, I'm assuming it's another leftover thing. Then there is one that says Milk. Milk? I dunno I'm guessing baby bottle milk? Cause I don't know many who actually heat up milk to drink LOL. Barf. Then of course you got yer Popcorn button, many have that one, but each popcorn box you buy has different times, so I'd never rely on this suspicious Popcorn button LOL. Let's see, we got a Potato and Pizza button, again how does it know if its a raw potato or a frozen one, and each frozen pizza is different re times. Oh and last, but not least, is the button that says Beverage. Hmmmm... beverage eh? Talk about vague LOL. I'm not even going to guess at that one LOL. Either way I'm just going to use the time/number buttons and ignore those other silly ones as I always do with microwaves. I just found it amusing the new extra feature buttons with this new nuker. Oh and it's 1000 watts and was $69.99, so not bad price-wise really. The cheaper ones were really small and some had no turnplate. DrowArchMage - You should never reopen a scar or a scab, let it heal! Your body knows what to do on its own, just give it time. Is it still bleeding? [ 02-10-2006, 09:30 PM: Message edited by: ladyzekke ] |
It was an accident.
I was working on a project, ya know, a little something for my girlfriend, a rose, made from wood, it has taken me almost two weeks and i'm almost done. It looks wonderful!(been working with wood most my life)Then i get bumped and slice my finger, over an old scar, with the tool i was using. No, its not bleeding anymore, i wrapped it and whatnot so it should be fine. |
Well how long have you had that scar? Sometimes scars can be thinner skinwise, depends on the scar really. I mean some people get scars that are depressions, and some scars are the raised skin kind.
Either way glad it's not bleeding anymore. Put some Peroxide on it or Neosporin so it doesn't get infected! Your gift for your girlfriend sounds lovely, and so romantic, that you would work so hard on something like that. Awwww, you are a sweetie DrowArchMage, I hope your gal appreciates all the effort, and injury LOL, you have put into it. |
DrowArchmage, it sounds like a really thoughtful gift! Take care of that cut, though.
LOL, LZ, I use our 'popcorn' button on my microwave all the time, but we usually hit the 'add 30 seconds' button on it a few times for the bigger bags of popcorn. but 'milk'? Uh, not really sure about that one! We have 'plate' or something like it for a plate of leftovers but no 'beverage' button. Hmm, my microwave is beverage and milk deficient! :D |
So, uh, what happens if you have chicken on the dinner plate? Do you have to push both buttons? As for the beverage button, I'll turn my coffee pot off after a couple of hours, and may decide later to have a cup, and throw it in the microwave to warm up...
|
Drow Archmage loves her so much, he's putting his own sweat and blood into it... oh, waitaminnit. That was for a different ritual ;)
I'm impressed, amigo. Just don't let my wife hear about that, or I'm going to be stuck. Even more than usual. I use our popcorn button all the time, but I routinely give it another 1:30. Why? Because you're supposed to let it go until the popping slows to two seconds or more between pops... and ours stops right in the middle of an extended drumroll. Way too quick... Just got to make sure to catch it, or else it will burn... and that *is* one of the nastiest smells out there |
