Just a simple question, really. It's not about the music the band makes, but just their name. I, for one, think the name "Del Da Funky Homosapien" is just plain brilliance :D

If it were music, I gotta say Arctic Monkeys have it.

In fact, that's a damn cool name too. Arctic Monkeys FTW

Zodiac Mindwarp and the Love Reaction

And to think bands from Seattle thought they had invented grunge rock with killer riffs ppffffttt! the Tattooed Beat Messiah was (with many others) there many years before

A (dis)honourable mention should go to "gay bikers on acid"

The Beasts of Bourbon
Mr Meaner
This Is Serious Mum
Pop Will Eat Itself
The Yeah Yeah Yeahs

Once you start thinking of it, they usually make no sense at all. What to think of Limp Bizkit ( ) and Sum41.

What's a Seether? I don't think I'd have gone for that one myself. But I guess angst sells.
Is this a descriptive name: Rainbow.
Self Explanatory?: Black Sabbath
Can't decide if they want to love her, or kill her: Guns and Roses?
Note: They used to love her, but then had to kill her...
Most likely name I'd have never come up with: AC/DC
Strangest name origin: Led Zepplin; they were told that their music would go over like a lead balloon...
I had a lot more, but they escape me right now.

Actually, i now know the meaning behind the name Limp Bizkit. They boycotted the '00 (i think it was '00 ) Perth Big Day Out festival after croud control issues in Sydney. I saw one guy walking all over the place carrying a big sign. Obviously LB was his favourite band and he was mighty peeved that they pulled a no-show. So he decided to share with everyone, via the sign, the true meaning of Limp Bizket. Apparently it involves *snip* (a PM...) :D

AC/DC is a great name. Little bit of Trivia. Apparently they got the name off the back of a vacume cleaner.

Ivelliis 02-09-2006 05:18 PM

AC/DC is also on my mini fridge *beams*

Found three stories of origin for Limp Bizkit...

1. Fraternity game (not going to explain here... you can Google).

2. Contrary to popular belief, Limp Bizkit was not named for the fraternity game "limp biscuit". They were named after the way a friend of the band described his brain after getting high (wikipedia)

3. Fred Durst's dog -- The Bizkit part is named after Fred's Bulldog:Bizkit. Once Bizkit had a limp, so Fred took him to the vets, and the vet said 'It looks like you have a 'Limp Bizkit' here!'and thus came the name for the band! (Am I Right - Band name origins)

I'm guessing this is pretty close to what was on the sign. ;)

Liked them as well. Seen the band play few months back(well with Chris Cornell). I have seen a few hundred shows and Toms playing blew my mind away.
