...and I'm terribly excited, but that's to be expected from someone who's been a Steelers fan for the past four or five years...
So, anyone want to call me out, and claim the game for the Seahawks? |
I've already predicted Steelers/Seahawks for XL. I thought the Denver/Pitt game would be a little closer, but hey, I can't be right all the time.
|
Ugh. Means "Family Guy" and the Simpsons won't be on. Ah well, go Steelers, Pitt has Crosby, so they'll have me cheering.
|
Nope, no calls from me. The Colts were 'steeled', so all I care about now is a good game!
I will say, me tinks one resaon that Seattle teams plays well is due to uniform. Geez, talk about the ugliest thing since jelly was mixed with peanut butter in the same jar! I'd play like mad too! Also thought the Broncos would have played a little better. Next season is not that far away! |
Seahawks 28, Steelers 24
Steelers are good, but the Seahawks are just unbelievable offensively. Finally, all the receivers are catching passes, Hasselbeck's on fire, and Alexander is nigh-unstoppable. Pittsburgh is damn good, and I was very surprised they were only the sixth seed, but it's Seattle's time. ;) And I spent a lot of money on one of those jerseys I'll have you know. Looks like I called it in the Brady Bunch thread, only I figured both games would be closer. It's going to be hard to pick a winner for XL though, at least for me, as both teams are very dominant on both sides of the ball. Should be a good one.
|
I call the Seahawks based on geographical proximity to me.
In all seriousness, it will be pretty even. Call it the Battle of Fewest Turnovers Wins. Alexander was dominant today; it'll be fun to see how he stacks up against the Steelers' D. Funny how one Pittsburgh team is notorious for its D, and another is notorious for its lack of it. ;) |
The team that took the field Sunday against the Broncos seemed to be pretty balanced, and while I'll admit, they did seem to play harder the last couple of games, they have looked pretty good, most of the season. It should be a pretty good game though, not so onesided as some of them have been.

What is Super Bowl XL? Football for the obese?
|
I am Seahawks. Steelers beat my Broncos... :(
And well Carolina beat my Chicago. Argh. Hehe |
Quote:
Between Carolina and Seattle, the two teams I didn't want to see go got eliminated, Washington, and New York. If Dallas can't go, nobody from the NFC East needs to go either... I'll probably be a Pittsburg fan for the Super Bowl though, as I had been a fan when I was a kid. Dallas and Pittsburg were my two favorite teams until my early teens, when I settled for one or the other, Dallas. As for who will actually win, I'm still not sure. |
Pittsburg all the way, yo. I just like the fact that the Steelers beat my stepfather's fav. team (the Bengals), then my sister's fav. team (the Colts), then my brother-in-law's fav. team (the Broncos).
So, I can rub it in all their faces...though I certainly respect those three teams. |
Sorry Steeler fans, but the Hawks are goin all the way!

Go Hawks!
|
I didn't catch the spread, but the Steelers are favored to win. The debate was very persuasive, but I believe the odds makers are selling the 'Hawks a little short. Although, I must admit, that the Steelers beating the Broncos brought me some guilty pleasure as well, they are my step dad's favorite team, and the way he's been towards me throughout my illness, he needs to have nothing good happen.
