1)If Sarevok is totally impervious to magic, how can Gorion damage him?
2)According to Aloundro, Bhaal had one child from each race. Well, im human and Sarevoks human so..... 3)And who is the guy Sarevok kills in the intro movie? |
1.- I dont think Sarevok is inmune to magic
2.- Bhaal had more than one child from each race. In the final movie, each statue is a child of Bhaal, and there are LOTS of statues http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...s/biglaugh.gif 3.- Just another child of Bhaal, the first one Sarevok kills i think, cause when hes gonna kill him Sarevok says: "i will be the last... and you will be the first" ------------------ http://www.angelfire.com/anime2/memnoch/ertai2.gif "I wish my Angel was here... Hmm, strange. I thought that Sarevok was immune to all froms of magic because I've often wondered why Gorion was able to damage him. Mind you I haven't finished yet so it could be just a spell that he casts at the end.
|
Well, there are lots of ways to think of it. For one, when Sarevok attacked you and Gorion, he wasn't as powerful as he is in the end, like he said "The new Lord of Murder".. That could possibly mean he has gained powers that he didn't have before, like magic resistance.
|
True, our main characters have been gaining special abilities through out the game so I suppose Sarevok could have been as well.
|
1) - Sarevok PROBABLY gained magic resistance later, my guess.
2) - Also, it never specifically says that Sarevok's human does it? I mean, if you're a human couldn't he be an elf or half-elf? Or if you're an elf, that could mean that he's human or half-elf or I could go on and on. 3) - That guy is one of the descendants of Bhaal, I'm pretty sure. Another thing though... Why are you the only descendant of Bhaal opposing Sarevok, I mean, where are the others? -Jafin [This message has been edited by Jafin (edited 07-21-2001).] |

Having finally defeated Sarevok just the other night I have discovered one thing that will answer questions about Sarevok's imperviousness (is that a word?) to magic: He's not. I blasted him with about 3 sets of 4 magic missles and everyone of them hurt him and I blasted him with a Fireball (he saved vs. spell for half damage though) and he got hurt from that. SO I guess that's solved http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif.
-Jafin ------------------ http://members.aol.com/wolviejon/myh...gnature156.jpg I am Jafin, arch-mage of the HADB clan! |
Weird, are you sure Jafin? Maybe his imperviousness (I think that's a word) to magic was a spell that sometimes wears off depending on how long the fight lasts.
|
It may be that he has resistance to certain kinds of magic. I fought him and died several times before I went and bought some different items. I shot him with Ice Arrows, Acid Arrows, And Fire Arrows. If my memory serves me correctly the Ice and Acid arrows didnt have much effect but the fire arrows really hit him hard.
SPOILER: : : : : : : : : : : : :knight: : : : : : : Try this before you talk to Sarevok buy the Wand of Fire and lots of fire arrows one bundle of detonation arrows. use two archers. equip one of them with one detonation arrow the rest with fire arrows. equip the other archer with a full compliment of fire arrows. have your mage or cleric cast animate dead spell place the skeletons between your party and where Sarevok is. equip the mage/cleric with the Wand of Fire. use the archer that has the detonation arrow and slowly walk towards Sarevok when you hear him start talking PAUSE shoot the detonation arrow then UNPAUSE answer the questions as you see fit then PAUSE return the first archer to where the rest of the party is and shot Sarevok with the Wand of Fire repeatedly. and the other archers fire arrows. the skeletons will attack and keep him and the ogre busy while the archers continue to fire at him. If you do it right you will beat him before your warriors get into the action. I beat him and didnt get hit once doing it this way. |
Gorion didn't die in vain.
I think that his last act was show you that Sarevok could be defeated by magic, specifically Magic Missiles. At least, is a nice thought. -Deco |
Well Sarevok certainly wasn't immune to magic missiles. I pounded him with them for hours but he finally died.
Wolfgang and Jafin are right, he is definetly not immune to fire either, highly resistant, but not immune. |

- - - - - - - - - - - - - Sarevok IS a human for sure. In ToB, you get to play with him as an NPC. Imoen is, as well, a Bhaal-spawn... so Aloundo may have changed his mind between BG1 and 2http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif ------------------ We call him Bobby Corwen http://www.finalfantasy.nu/forum/minichoco.gif |
Your History Spoiler:
You were raised by your mother: A high priestess of Bhaal. When the priestesses all planned to sacrifice all Bhaal-spawn in one go to resurrect Bhaal, Gorion and his white wizards attacked and saved you, Imoen and Sarevok himself whilst other spawn fled. He had to abandone on of you because the priestesses where so powerful and was catching up. He dropped Sarevok. And hence Sarevok's hatred....blah |
Sarevok IS magic resistant, but Magic Missile always works.

Krunchy man, this post is 4 years old.
Ya not meant to post on old threads. |
Lav, I didn't bump this thread up. Somebody must have posted before I did, I was just responding. Looks like I fell for a similar joke that Illumina did about a week or two ago.
Somebody's having fun! |
Yeah... It happened again shortly after mine, too. It felt a little immature to go "See? Not just me."
I'd love to find out who's doing it. |

It was probably linked too! |

What I'm saying is that I think someone recently responded to this thread, I responded to their post, and then the "bumpee" deleted his own post. But, maybe you're right. It's possible this thread was linked to in another and I just responded. I can't be positive. [ 06-15-2005, 07:22 AM: Message edited by: krunchyfrogg ] |
Lol, will everyone leave my grammar alone.
I've told you, this is MSN talk! |
::shakes head:: Someone's been bumping threads and then deleting their posts... It looks like people have been bumping threads. Happened to me, too... Krunchy and I both know better than to bump ancient threads... But enough of that. I suggest we move on and let the thread die.
