I've been having my share of MTV music video's lately and the atrocity of Jessica Simpson's "These Boots Are Made For Walking" just baffles me. Nancy Sinatra surely wouldn't want anything to do with this travesty? Just as she managed to turn a nice song like "Angels" into something horrible, she's done it again with this particular song. I don't she has ANY talent of any sort. Not even looking pretty -- because I know I'll think about her being simplistic at the same time. It's not all about sex appeal it seems!

Oh, and not just the song sucks, the movie video is equally stupid. All the dances she does are out of key (watch the other dancers in the video), and I'm pretty positive the video director thought about her clumsiness beforehand and glued that beer bottle on the serving thingie (what's it called anyway?! [img]graemlins/1ponder.gif[/img] )

And please, don't get me started about the senseless carwashing scene.

Don't know why I'm so incredibly frustrated with this. After all, it's Nick who has to deal with her each day. I can just sit here in my chair and laugh at her.

Plus people say she's hot. I personally don't like the ditzy airhead look myself, but I can see why people would say that.

Link, if you watch tv at all, you'd know that sex appeal sells more than musical talent does. I mean, I think she looks fine, but I don't have to refrain myself from humping the television when she comes on like most guys do.

Most musical groups or 'single' artists sound about the same to me anymore, only ones who stand out are probably the Shinedown and Green Day.

She's simply doing what most of her generation of pop singers are doing to survive and stay competitive, turning into a whore. First Britney, then Christina Aguilera, now Jessica Simpson, the only one of that group I'm aware of that hasn't is Mandy Moore, and she's pretty much dropped off the music radar (and taken up acting apparently). (LeeAnn Rimes is a different sort of whore, she's a sellout who can't decide if she wants to sit on the country side of the fence or the pop music side, much like Shania Twain)

not at all, but if I want to watch a lap dance I can go to a place that specializes in that, and maybe get one for myself instead of just watching. She can't sing, she needs a sammich, and she dresses like common street trash, it's nothing at all about "christian anti-sexuality morales" and everything to do with self respect, or the lack there-of.

The social culture of America has been degenerating for years now. Have you even looked at most music artists? Or even the lyrics to most songs. It is all about sex sex sex. It just sickens me that this is how society is shaping out. However, if its there why not take a peak :D ?

A. it degrades us to view explicit material, ask almost any psychologist.
B. it continues degrading the one we are viewing, and do we really wanna support the down fall of humanity into sexual deviousness?

i agree it is healthy to express sexuality, but not in that way. a woman (or a man) can express sexuakity without losing most and/or all of their clothes. also is it really sexuality when all it's doing is crying for attention? it's begging for lust, not respect, and the human conscience begs for respect, but we get it screwed up somewhere between what we want and how to get it.

having been a person to show my cleavage at every oportunity, or give random ppl a lap dance for attention, i know how low my self esteem was, and i know why i was doing it. and i know now i did nothing but lose respect for myself and give others a reason not to respect me, or my sexuality.

This is one of the primary reasons I don't listen to R&B and Rap (that and extensive cursing and utter lack of respect for anything). And why I stick to oldies, primarily Country from 10-35 years ago. The modern music scene is one sellout trying to outdo the last one in order to gain a sliver of recognition.

Well, I've seen enough half-nekkid chicks on tv. Just watch a clip by 50 cent or some other anonymous rapper from the states and you'll see your share of 'babes'.

The fact that they're babes is debatable to say at the least. Most of the time they just have boobs the size of melons which doesn't even look attractive.

Why I am complaining? Because the women on tv are so easy these day! Where's the challenge! :D
