Gangrell 07-26-2005 09:57 PM

Big Daddy Gangrell :D

I've found out enough now that I think it's time to let everybody in on the good news. For a long time leading up to June, my fiance has been really ill and we couldn't figure out why. Doctors ran all of these tests, colon, stomach, you name it. The first of July, I recieved a call from her telling me it's urgent, so I run over to her house and honestly, I can't really remember what she told me, just remember saying "you're pregnant" and sure enough, she said yes.

Went to her ultrasound today, she's along 5 1/2 months, it's a boy at about a pound and two ounces. The due date is November 23rd.

So, don't be surprised if I disappear near the end of the year

johnny 07-26-2005 10:08 PM

Why would you dissapear ? Running away from your duties as a father ? :D

Gangrell 07-26-2005 10:11 PM

No smartass

With a fulltime job, college, and a baby, I'm hardly going to be around johnny.

Felix The Assassin 07-26-2005 10:13 PM

Well congratulations!
Ah, Johnny, always full of it.

Larry_OHF 07-26-2005 10:16 PM

Hey, mine is the 13th of November! Congratulations old fella!

robertthebard 07-26-2005 11:03 PM

Larry, you never told us you were pregnant...

Bungleau 07-26-2005 11:06 PM

Congrats to you both! May the future be bright and glorious

I do find it curious that no one thought to run a pregnancy test... didn't the symptoms match up properly? In any case, he's been found out now... ;)

Jorath Calar 07-26-2005 11:26 PM

Congrats...

Anyway, here in my hometown a girl was pregnant for 9 months, and didn't know it, just one day she got really sick, thought her back was going out, was taken to a hospital and delivered a baby...

I'm still wondering how that can happen...

Larry_OHF 07-26-2005 11:28 PM

Oh crap! I just realized what my thread looks like I said! I meant to say "My birthday" is in November...not that we're expecting another. Gods no!

Kakero 07-26-2005 11:44 PM

oooooo...Gangrell congrats.

Aelia Jusa 07-27-2005 12:38 AM

Wow, I didn't even know you were engaged!! Congratulations, Gangrell!

Ivelliis 07-27-2005 04:38 AM

Congrats Gangrell!

Perhaps the lucky kid will be born 4 days early on the 19th Only fabulous people are born on that day!

Bozos of Bones 07-27-2005 05:54 AM

Congrats Big Daddy Gangrell!!
You are, ofcourse, going to enlist this new child to the ranks of IW?

Grojlach 07-27-2005 10:21 AM

But Gangrell, aren't you a bit... young to become a father? I mean, you're barely 18. Over here in my country people are usually around thirty before they even start to think about children. I really hope you'll be able to cope with all that, it's quite a responsibility.

Congrats either way, though.

Cloudbringer 07-27-2005 10:27 AM

Like Aelia said, I didn't even know you were engaged, but CONGRATS on the impending addition to the family! As Groj said, it's alot to handle and I hope you are up to the challenge! Best Wishes!

johnny 07-27-2005 10:40 AM

Oh i think he'll be spending more time on IW than he possibly can imagine. Just think about it.....toddler crying his little buns off all night long, and while misses Gangrell changes another diaper at 3.30 AM, Gangrell can think of nothing else but checking out IW to see what's new, becoming grumpier by the day, and starting threads with titles such as "what the hell was i thinking ?" :D

Coming soon in a theater near you.

Ladyzekke 07-27-2005 10:51 AM

Congratulations Gangrell I think you are too young, but I wish you all the best, and I know you will make a great Dad.

Things are kind of different over here in the states. It's common for others my age to have children (younger normally), doesn't make it alright, but point being.

Yeah, I guess you do have a point johnny, but there are a few good things on my side. Have plenty of friends and family helping, plus I have hypomania, sleeping disorder which pretty much makes me an insomniac so sleep won't be a problem

Thanks for the support guys :D

quietman1920 07-27-2005 02:47 PM

Congratulations! Personally, I've never been able to find out what I was getting for Christmas earlier than November... ;)

The Collective 07-27-2005 07:13 PM

Camarilla scum ;)

Not only that, pretty soon he'll start sounding like MagiK...

It's common in the States to have children at an age of 18? Never heard that one before!

Cloudbringer 07-28-2005 03:00 PM

I'm not sure it's common, but it happens. It's very hard to make school/job/family work at that young an age, though.

Again, I wish you luck and all the best, Gangrell! I hope your families are able to help you out alot!

Well, of course it happens. I reckon it happens anywhere in the world - even here in the Netherlands. That doens't mean it's common, however.

What I'm saying Link is that normally girls in high school over here normally have children, at least where I am anyway.

Mack_Attack 07-29-2005 11:30 AM

Well with a good family base. I can not see any problems with the age. I say enjoy and savor every momment. Having two kids my self. They mean every thing to me. It really is amazing how they change your out look on things.

Vaskez 07-31-2005 01:09 PM

yeah I was just thinking our lil Gangy's only 18, and already getting married and having kids! Like woah! I don't wanna be doing that till I'm like 30! To each his own, good luck anyway Gangrene :D

Watch out Vask, I'll teach my boy to go for your ankles :D

Vaskez 07-31-2005 02:15 PM

Bah kids love me, they could never harm me :D Hmm don't envy you man, your life's about to get a whole lot tougher...

Gangrell 07-31-2005 03:59 PM

A lot tougher? Heh, my life's always been tough bud, just another challenge I have to step up and face is all. I've already helped raise two little girls who are my baby cousins, I think I'm prepared to an extent of what comes this way.

We're talking about kids without a visual disability here, Vask. I bet you could only make kids happy if you would put that Teletubbie mask of yours on

Stratos 07-31-2005 04:59 PM

Congratulations, Gangrell! And Larry, and whomever else might have children on the way.

Attalus 07-31-2005 07:45 PM

Congrats, Gangrell. It'll make a man of you. A sleepy, grumpy man, but a man, nonetheless. :D

Why has your life always been tough?
Also, aren't you a bit resentful about missing out on the (relatively) carefree late teens/early twenties (study doesn't count as a worry :D )?

RoSs_bg2_rox 07-31-2005 09:29 PM

Congratulations Gangrell. I'm sure missing those college parties will be worth it!

Link 08-01-2005 10:39 AM

You know, Ross, sometimes you just bring out the best in yourself ;) :D

Stormymystic 08-01-2005 03:43 PM

congrats again, I know I have not called recently, but you know how things are here right now. when I was preg with my second, I did not know for 3 months, and when I went in labor, did not even know it, just thought my back hurt is all ;) so you can be preg and not know it.

Bungleau 08-01-2005 05:27 PM

Resentment, anger, frustration, and such are choices you make in how to deal with what life offers you. My marriage came later (25), and my kids came later yet (31). Now my daughter is 8, and a buddy of mine who's just a couple years older already has a grandchild by his oldest married daughter.

I can't always choose what life throws at me, but I can choose how to respond to it. Yeah, Gangrell might be skipping the college parties. But he's also opening the possibility of being able to send kids out the door into the real world before he's 40, and recreate his own life then. And that ain't all bad... believe me.
