the previous thread is here:

Cloudy's Cafe

Come in, be welcome, be comfortable, be yourself

Welcome to Cloudy's Cafe, a place to have a cup of coffee or a good
darjeeling and the finest in conversation and camaraderie.

The proprietor asks that you follow a few simple guidelines:

this is a real conversation zone, not a role-play zone

* no flaming; if you disagree with a viewpoint expressed by any patron, please do so in a civil manner

* any topic is fair game, but keep posts to the standards that Ziroc has set for the entire forum, please (ie: foul language is not appropriate and things should be suitable for all audiences)
-a side note from Cloudy: I see this as a place for those short
conversations about a new baby or the latest soccer fiasco, not for things that are big enough to warrant their own threads, by all means give those things the space they need and post separately!

* Please, no one word or smiley posts (Ziroc has declared them 'real spam' and the proprietor doesn't want the reputuation of "good spam" to suffer!)

* do feel free to be serious or silly and enjoy the company of others while you are here. By all means POST if you have something to say, even to start another topic , we can handle multiple chats, we're a CAFE!!! But be courteous and don't disrupt a conversation just to disrupt it.

Come on in! The bar is stocked with coffees, teas, juices and waters from around the world. And purple napkins, of course!

The lighting is low, the golden oak counters and tables glow with inviting warmth. Near the window, the lighting is brighter, as comfy, plush leather armchairs wait for those who'd like to read a book while relaxing to music or just lazily watch the world go by.

Cloudbringer 05-10-2005 10:03 AM

 PLEASE NOTE

This is a modified reminder that I've posted before in reply to someone asking "can we spam the cafe". It still holds true, so I'm going to repeat it periodically for anyone who hasn't seen it.

Read the first post of the thread, it's NOT a spam zone. If you want to discuss you grades, a problem with a teacher, the weather, your neighbor's new car etc.....etc.. (real life conversations) this is the place. I don't mind a SMALL amount of spam but when the Cafe gets to be 8 pages in one day and it's all one liner pure spam, I have to ask people not to do it because most of the members who would come to talk about their day or things that they want advice or sympathy or cheers on, will not post in that atmosphere. I want you to be comfy here, but not at the expense of other members.

So the answer is NO, I don't want to see page after page of roleplay spam or one liner spamfests that could be done on msn or aim etc. because our goal is to TALK WITH one another , not fill up a cafe in five hours. ;)

Cloudbringer 05-10-2005 10:04 AM

Good day everyone!

Rented the Pierce Brosnan, Woody Harrelson flick, After Sunset, last night. Not bad! Of course any time I get to see Brosnan in pj's isn't bad. ;)

Sigmar 05-10-2005 10:10 AM

I just developed Hayfever today, and I have been sneezing more in the last 4 hours than all the sneezes I've ever done in the rest of my life put together.

My eyes also resemble red ping-pong balls, and I'm itchy all over.

Pollen is my new arch-nemesis. "Flower-power" is nothing to luagh at!

johnny 05-10-2005 10:24 AM

My brother has the same thing, every year when spring arrives it gets to him, red eyes, sneezing, the whole package. But it's not just pollen, he also gets it when there's hamsters, cats, and horses around. What a life. :D

Bungleau 05-10-2005 10:25 AM

'Morning, all. I'm waiting until lunchtime to go see the dentist, and my tooth is starting to throb... not a good sign, believe me. I'll bring the motrin with me

On the plus side, my customers are suddenly getting active, wanting to buy stuff and send me . This, I like :D

Hope your hay fever calms down, Sigmar. My wife is waiting anxiously for rain to get the pollen and stuff out of the air... hope it gets here soon. And where you are, too...

philip 05-10-2005 10:40 AM

Why can't people on bikes just sign they're going to the left or at least look so they see I'm overtaking them :/ And then she said she was sorry and started laughing really hard after she crashed into me. 'You know what ... ;) ' idiot :(

Johnny I didn't know you had a bro :D

Must be annoying being allergic to all that stuff!

Bungleau, considering it hardly rains during winter here, I think rain isn't gonna be falling any time soon :D

johnny 05-10-2005 10:45 AM

Ah...didn't you know ? Cyclists rule the universe, they're king of the road. The behaviour of most cyclists is simply disturbing, no stopping for red lights, riding on the sidewalks, or even against traffic. and if you're not getting out of the way fast enough, you'll get angry looks. And then some people are still wondering why there's so much agression in traffic these days.

Cloudbringer 05-10-2005 11:09 AM

Hey Sigmar I know the allergy thing well, had 'em since I was a kid. I've used a few of the new antihistamines they have out that don't make you drowsy, talk with your doctor about those or one, Claritin, is sold over the clunter in the US.

RevRuby 05-10-2005 11:42 AM

wow, cloudy's has been really slow lately :( well instead of making a new thread about it i'll leave a baby update here.

she's still on the inside. i'm quite upset about it. the kids are stressed out by my lack of lap, i'm stressed out because i feel like life is on hold til she gets here. i can't start recovery until after labor and delivery. needless to say nothing in the house is getting done, i'm just sitting and waiting, which is prolly the worse thing to be doing but i can't sleep anymore, i can hardly eat (stress) i'm sore and in pain no matter what i do. if i draw my hands go numb, digital or trditional art, everytime i try to type something on the computer i have to get up and take erilyn potty (no kidding, i just got back before typing that part of the sentence) bathing the girls is a joke cause i can't bend over the tub anymore, taking a shower or bathing myself is pretty funny too, since i'm having problems with my sciatc nerve down both of my legs i shouldn't be getting in and out of the tub without nathan at least in the house, just in case.

ugh...i'm so ready to be done.

sorry this is kind of a selfish whiney post. live with it, i'm hormonal.

I was cycling myself too ;) I stopped doing most of the things you mentioned a few years ago but I just can't stand people that don't know what's going on around them like today or people that are undecisive.

Sorry to hear that Sigmar. It’s weird when something like that just starts. If you had it as a small boy and it just got worse I could understand. Are you 100% sure that it is hay fever and not something else

Iron Greasel 05-10-2005 02:16 PM

I'm allergic only to tomatoes. And I have to eat about ten of them. I would laugh at you hayfeverists, but that would be mean.

I remember the good ol' days when I too used to laugh at hayverists... :(

Sneezing is believing!

hohoho, I slay me! :D

Attalus 05-10-2005 02:51 PM

Hmmm, hay fever ... office visits, cortisone shots... I may get to go on vacation this year. :D

IMHO you have the every right in the world to whine. I was looking for a post about you to see if you have had the baby or not. And I can not believe you have not had it yet. I feel for ya. SO when are they going to induce or is going to be all natural. How far over is the due date?

RevRuby 05-11-2005 08:21 AM

i am officially 1 day over due!!!! blah. i see a midwife today. midwives usually don't like to intervene and do something unnatural, but she is really nice, and when i made the appt i just asked for someone with small hands. tmi, huh? sorry bout that.

anyway i have some important things to tell her which may make her want to intervene or get a dr to intervene. the baby's movements are still happening, and of course not as intense as before since, well, she can't have much room in there by now, but the frequency and duration of movements has really gone down. she still rolls around nad stuff, still moves her limbs, but it'll only happen for about 5-10 min every couple of hours (about 3-6 hours between groups of movement) that and somethings she does are really painful (REALLY PAINFUL) so i think she may be out of room, and maybe, if she's still not dropped, maybe too big to fit through at this point.

gee no one here asked for a novel. can you tell i have no one IRL listening to me?

Attalus 05-11-2005 10:11 AM

'Salright, I have visions of Galadria talking just like you did when Will (now 6) was overdue.

RevRuby 05-11-2005 12:14 PM

no induction but i got some good news. and without revealing TMI i'll just say i'm closer than i was to having her. still having a hormonal emotional breakdown tho.

Cloudbringer 05-11-2005 02:37 PM

Hope the little one decides to come out soon, RR!

Whew, halfway through the work week and I am soooo looking forward to the weekend. My husband and I are getting away for a 1st year Anniversary celebration. Nothing too fancy just a nice hotel suite with a 'romance' package- nice dinner, champagne and such. Still, I can use a little 'us time' away from housework and laundry and my job! :D

Elif Godson 05-11-2005 03:15 PM

Happy Hump day all been a while since I dropped in here. Rev I hope it happens tonight for you, how cent are you? Has it been a year already, Cloudy? My, how time flies

Congratulations to you both. May the next 50 years be even more enjoyable than the last.

Cloudbringer 05-11-2005 09:52 PM

Yes, Bungleau, a year! I know, it seems to have flown by, but this weekend is our first anniversary. [img]graemlins/ladyhearts.gif[/img] Thanks for the good wishes!

ty elif. i'm only 1 centimeter, and even tho she isn't engaged, the midwife finally showed some inteligence over my dr's and admitted she prolly won't engage til i'm in labor. but as it goes things are more prepared down there this week than they were last week.

oh wow cloudy, it's been a year? really? congrats on the get away! sounds like a nice break.

Cloudbringer 05-12-2005 09:27 AM

Thanks everyone, I'm kind of shocked it's been a year already, too! Time just kind of slips by sometimes... well except when you really want it to, like in your case, Revruby! LOL

Hehe.. well Callum, you've got some catching up to do, then! MacK... ROTFL, well, I don't think I'm dumping him for his money... doesn't have much... LOL but I think I'll keep him anyway, he's kind of special to me. [img]graemlins/ladyhearts.gif[/img] :D

Ladyzekke 05-12-2005 11:36 AM

Hi everyone! Am having a pretty decent day at work today. Not too busy, weather nice and warm, and smelling like perfume. Not sure what it is, must be these trees I see with white blooms on them. Rarely does the air smell so strong of flowers, it's pretty cool

Yep that year went buy pretty quickly Cloudy! I still have your wedding paraphernalia sitting out on a shelf LOL!

Morgeruat 05-12-2005 12:30 PM

Aww! That's so sweet! Glad your day is going smoothly and so nicely! Mine is almost over at the office, YAY, so I'll get to run a few errands and make some dinner, or help Nacht make it, in a few hours. Looking forward to a little nicer weather, although it's only 60 F out at the moment.

Ilander 05-12-2005 05:26 PM

...WAAAAAZZZZZUUUUUUPPPPPP?

Okay, now that I have that out of my system...man I love summer vacation. Once I'm actually employed, I fully plan to actually take a vacation midsummer...oh how nice it shall be.

...My parents don't do that...they work through their vacation days, and get pay bonuses for it, but never any rest.

I'm a lazy bum, incidentally. Slept until 2 PM today, though I guess after my sparring last night, my body really wouldn't have settled for much less. Man, I suck. The scrawniest, weakest of you all could beat me up, I'm sure!

Oh, and I'm in trouble with my dad again...but at least he hasn't kicked me out. I really thought I was going to be held responsible for that electrical fire I put out... :(

TaTa for now!
