Here is a rather tame version of their concerts.

I've listened to them for years... great band.

FYI - there's a website out there somewhere that has a whole bunch of Rammstein bootlegs for download, authorized ones according to the site. Some were pretty good quality, some not so good, but worth the download.

Jorath Calar 04-21-2005 07:29 PM

Oh yes, I have listened to them since 1997... there is no better band to jam to when your only goal is to get really really drunk!! :D

By the way I went to their concert when they came here and it is awesome.

Thoran 04-21-2005 07:31 PM

Also... if you have not seen the movie XXX yet, there's a great scene in the beginning that's basically Rammstein in concert.

Hivetyrant 04-21-2005 07:35 PM

Oh Hells yes, been listening to them since I was about 11, dont know why, but I have loved them since the minute I heard them.

Was a bit freaked out when I saw some of their live acts, im sure some of you guys know what they do (just random weird stuff, one of them included a hose and some white liquid....)

Dragonshadow 04-22-2005 05:38 AM

Rammstein are great. First heard them on a matrix album.

Variol (Farseer) Elmwood 04-22-2005 06:53 AM

..never heard of them but I was born very close to there. I think I still have some family there too.

NeoA 04-22-2005 07:21 AM

I had a tape of them before they became popular even here in Germany. If you like their music, try to get the "live in Berlin" dvd. They have an amazing live Performance.

Jaradu 04-22-2005 11:41 AM

Rammstein are my favourite band. In fact I'm listening to them right now.

DENN.... DU BIST.... WAS.... DU IST.... UND.... IHR WISST.... WAS.... ES IST!!

But yeah, they're the perfect combo for me - industrial rock is great. The guitar riffs (although they sound somewhat similar) are catchy, the lyrics are memorable despite the fact they're in another language, and the keyboard is pure magic. My only gripe I have with Rammstien is that they do not use Oliver's Bass Guitar to its full potential - he basically plays the same riffs that Rich/Paul play on the guitars but on a lower octave... so you can barely tell its there. Of course, you can hear it well on 'Seemann' since is Bass-based (and a masterpiece, I might add).

I'm being a bit cautious not to let Gorillaz become my favourite band, because they rock too.

Till, Schneider, Oliver and Richard are gorgeous ;)

DAS IST MEIN TEIL!!! MEIN!!!

So cool :D

Jaradu 04-22-2005 12:39 PM

Hey, have you seen the Keine Lust video? It's funny as hell! :D

Jorath Calar 04-22-2005 04:18 PM

Were they are in the fat suits? yes it's hilarious.

antryg 04-22-2005 11:00 PM

The problem with Rammstein is that they just play Ministry songs and just put in different lyrics in German. I do admit that they do industrial well, just not as well as Ministry or Nine Inch Nails (early).

SomeGuy 04-22-2005 11:46 PM

I just watched the Keine Lust video. It was awesome. I really don't think there's anything funnier then watching fat guys headbang. That was AWESOME. Now I wonder how I can apply a song about laziness to my football season... How am I supposed to get pumped when I know the song is about laziness? So sad, so sad.

yeah what ever, but even if that was even remotely true, then you'd have to admit that the german language fits this kind of music 1000 times better than english

TheGodThatFailed 04-23-2005 07:33 AM

I'm not a Ramstein fan, but there is a german band I like called Panzerchrist. The death metal fans among you should deffinatly check them out ;)

NeoA 04-23-2005 08:03 AM

If yuo like Rammstein, you should check out the bands Richthofen, Megaherz, Totenmond and Stahlhammer.

johnny 04-23-2005 08:23 AM

No thanks. What's with all the sauerkraut metal lately ? :D

TheGodThatFailed 04-23-2005 09:54 AM

Hehe Johnny, I like a single German band, the rest of them are hairy nords :D

Melusine 04-23-2005 05:34 PM

I've been listening to Rammstein since, like, the seventeenth century, man. Yeah. And if you're a real fan you'd of course have the "Live in Wittenberg" Ur-demo that they did like before anyone had ever even heard of them, guest starring Johann Faustus and his Black Poodle Band. Supergeil.

Froberg 04-23-2005 07:34 PM

Do you actually understand hwat they sing?

I do, but a lot of rammstein fans don't..

Sir Degrader 04-23-2005 08:06 PM

I look up the lyrics usually, but not when they actually sing.

My friends dragged me to their show at Brixton this february. Even though I always stare in disbelief whenever anyone tries to tell me how great their music is, I can honestly say I enjoyed myself once I went with the flow of crazy jumping up and down.

I'd take Death From Above 1979 any day when I want music with that kind of riffage.

philip 04-25-2005 12:06 PM

Yeah I like them. First song I heard was around 4 years ago so I don't know them very long. Don't have any CDs but I like what I've heard so far, both the new and old songs (like from the start)

JrKASperov 04-25-2005 02:08 PM

You kids, go listen to some real music again. ;)

RoSs_bg2_rox 04-25-2005 02:48 PM

I think they're pretty good, good enough to merit me having all of their albums. The English cover of Amerika is particularly good, look out for it. :D
