.... can tell us what the return of The Doctor was like? I heard on our news that it rated really well - any confirmation and reviews would be most welcomed from our Euripodean cousins .

Doctor...who?

Boy that was a bad joke...even by my high standards

Ilander 03-29-2005 10:49 AM

...I'm at UK! Oh, wait...you don't mean me, do you?

Ivelliis 03-29-2005 01:53 PM

LOL Sigmar! That joke is so bad it's actually funny.

I never watched it, but I heard it got 10 million viewers (I think), which beat "Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway", which is usually the highest rating show that time (again, I think).

Alas, no tv reception in my current university room :(

My girlfriend watched it and didn't like it - said that Billy can't act and Chris Ecclestone is wrong as the Doctor (well, no surprises there IMO).

Having said that, she's not exactly a Doctor Who fan. It seemed to get a positive reception from the public on the BBC website.

Yep, it was a massive hit. So many people watched it. I thought it was good, however I missed the first half.

Now if only you had misspelt that Brethern, I would have had myself a good gag! :D

I wonder if the BBC paid more than $25 per episode on special effects this time?

As I'm sure Davros knows, they are repeating every one of the old episodes on Australian tv and so I get to watch them now and again. I can't wait to see the new episodes :D

I managed to watch it, and have to say that I have seen better acting in primary school nativity plays.

Acting aside, it was quite enjoyable and I'll probably watch a few more episodes.

Not bad at all

Davros 03-30-2005 04:42 PM

Any of the usual baddies in the return episodes (Daleks, Cybermen, Master etc)?

shamrock_uk 03-30-2005 04:47 PM

The Daleks will be in it. The Master is dead, no?

Haha, nope, the explosions were as awful as the acting.

I've never been a fan of any sci-fi really, but it wasn't so bad. I'm too young to properly remember the old episodes though.

The character or the actor, the character being a time lord would be easy to renew :D

Brayf 03-31-2005 04:15 AM

Any Brits watched the news this morning? The lead actor is quitting after this series. Said he didn't want to be typecast, which is fair enough. I've already typecasted him as a s*** actor.
