Just about to go home and it's really started to belt down outside. I haven't got a car at the moment and even though it's only about half a mile to home, you should see this bloody blizzard at the moment!!

Ladyzekke 02-22-2005 12:01 PM

Stay warm getting home Skippy! Walking when it is snowing can be kinda fun. Of course that's if you don't get a lot of snow frequently. When you get a lot of it you get sick of it and it looses its allure LOL.

Hmmm, guess that must be my word for the day, allure, used it twice now LOL. :D

TheGodThatFailed 02-22-2005 12:15 PM

Snowing this morning, and i threw a snowball at my friend ben, and accidently hit my maths teacher in the head as he was walking into the mian building :D still snowing now too

Lox 02-22-2005 12:18 PM

Nothing but rain here in (sunny) Southern Cali. We had a 100ft-wide sink hole open up down the street from my office. Less than 1/2 mile away. Sadly, one of the workers trying to repair the street fell in Sunday night.

Vaskez 02-22-2005 12:19 PM

10 out of 10 for observation :D

Lox - what did the thinkin monkey tell you?

Also, did you name yourself after the LOX rap group? :D

Since I'm like 10 miles from Skippy, I know exactly what he means - I couldn't see the trees outside as there was just a continually falling wall of snow. :D

Too bad it melted straight away!! :(

Oh, by the way, Skippy, I came to Church Stretton to look at Cardingmill Valley for our Geography coursework. What a lovely place it was.

spydar 02-22-2005 09:17 PM

hmm...I wish it were snowing here, been living in Calgary for 3 years now and I'm still not used to seeing grass in february. that is just SICK and WRONG!

Dace De'Briago 02-22-2005 09:30 PM

Well, it's bloody cold here, but as yet no serious snow.

We've had a few flakes, but the floor is still dry.

This bloody wind is a killer though :(

Sir Goulum 02-22-2005 09:32 PM

The snows meltinf here, finally. I've gotten sick of it after some 4 or 5 months of it.

Sir Degrader 02-22-2005 09:33 PM

I love the winter! running up and down 6 ft. snow banks, doing the whole rocky thing (chopping wood, doing pullups by a roaring fire, running up mountains), man, I can't imagine why anyone WOULDN'T like it!

Tasslehoff Burrfoot 02-22-2005 09:39 PM

i like snow

Violet 02-22-2005 09:56 PM

We'll be getting a fresh coat of snow on Mt Lemmon tonight and tomorrow while the valley maintains temps in the mid to upper 60's. :D

wellard 02-23-2005 12:08 AM

Whats snow?

RoSs_bg2_rox 02-23-2005 04:26 AM

Just because you are indulging yourself in a whole lot of sun, sand and warmth, doesn't allow you to take the piss mate. :D

Everythings white around here, we've been having blizzards the last few days, but now it is all lying, and there is a few inches covering everything, maybe a foot or so.

philip 02-23-2005 04:45 AM

It has been snowing here tonight. Now it's melting away and it just started raining as well :(

Skippy1 02-23-2005 05:10 AM

Well it's stopped for the time being here now. Still plenty on the Stretton hills though which looks pretty nice.

Jaradu; You would have walked right past my house on your way to Cardingmill Valley. We live almost opposite tihe turn off to go up there. We're selling the house and moving back into Shrewsbury now though. As nice as it is out here, we can afford to buy a much bigger house in Shrewsbury as the houses are more expensive out here. My eldest son starts 6th form college in Shrewsbury at the start of the next school year(still haven't gotten used to the school year starting in the middle of the year. Weird!) so we figured it was a good time to move in.

Wellard; next winter get yourself down to Perisher and do some skiing mate. It's most excellent dude!! :)

Ladyzekke; Just as I finished posting, the wife turned up to give me a lift home. Maybe she does love me after all! :))
I love walking in the snow anyway. We don't get enough here for me though. I'd love to live somewhere where it was snowbound for half the year. It is always so refreshing and clean. And the best bit is that hangovers just seem to evaporate in sub-zero temps. :))

Dace De'Briago; Where abouts in Wales are you?

Sir Degrader; Running!! Your a sick person! :)

Cloudbringer 02-23-2005 10:30 AM

How's the snow look now? We've got a little dusting freshly laid on the old stuff, looks alot better than black or yellow snow drifts! LOL

Dace De'Briago 02-23-2005 10:38 AM

@ Skippy: Caerphilly

Ooooh jeh! Check out meh sexy new Avatar!!!

Cool - That means that in his first year, he'll be with my sister. Then in his second year, he'll be with me.

Ivelliis 02-23-2005 12:02 PM

It's been snowing here for days, sometimes really light, sometimes very heavy. Not enough to close the school though :( Damn heaters not breaking.

Jani 02-23-2005 12:14 PM

Wellard you are truly blessed. The weather forecast says weŽll have a -20 celsius and windy tomorrow morning=(

I wish I could sleep throught whole season like bears do.

Dace De'Briago 02-23-2005 07:00 PM

Here we go...

----------------------
http://www.guardian.co.uk/weather/St...423735,00.html

Weather forecasters warned today that the cold snap in Britain could get more severe, with heavier snow expected to arrive from Europe.
A spokesman for the PA WeatherCentre, Tony Conlan, said: "We've been tracking a depression coming in from Europe, which is expected to arrive on Thursday. It will bring much heavier snow to the UK. This is likely to hit eastern and central England but it could also spread to northern England, Wales and south-west Scotland. Some areas could get several inches of snow."

Brr!!!

Sir Goulum 02-23-2005 07:07 PM

Yikes, -20C? Glad I don't live in Finland. ;)

Megabot 02-24-2005 04:00 AM

Only -11C and no snow here and that is fine with me, i am tired of the snow anyway

Skippy1 02-24-2005 05:27 AM

Oh, the weather outside is frightful,
But the fire is so delightful
And since we've no place to go,
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

It's bloody cold, but I'm luvin' it at the moment. One of the biuggest attraction for me when we moved to England was the chance of a white christmas. Well we don't get much at christmas, but we did this year. Excellent!! :)

Rainbabe; The place is covered! It must have snowed a fair bit last night, as it is white over this morning.

Jaradu; Nice one! You'll have to meet up with him. One thing though, are you a Chav? He's a Skaterboy and I heard they don't mix apparently. But what do I know being an old geezer. :)

Dace De'Briago; Nice one mate, only just down the road then. Mind you, I tend to think thatv about most of the UK as I come from OZ. This place is tiny geographically compared to OZ.

Ivelliis; Well you will live up norf! :)

Callum 02-24-2005 08:13 AM

We are having the hottest period in SEVEN years! And I hate it...

And I hate you... yes YOU!

Skippy1 02-24-2005 08:23 AM

Sorry Callum, but that's what you get living in the tropics mate. :)

Ah..........exactly how much do you hate me mate?? :)

Jaradu 02-24-2005 11:04 AM

Skippy, I am most certainly anti-Chav :D

Skippy1 02-24-2005 11:38 AM

Sounds like you'd get on then. :)

He's into rugby as well, although I don't s'pose you want to talk about that at the moment. I think Ireland are going to give your boys another kicking this weekend.

Skippy1 02-25-2005 09:02 AM

UPDATE!

Snow has abated a bit now. Still lots on the ground around here though. Hoping it doesn't snow anymore. A mate has booked us in for golf tomorrow morning, and I don't have any red balls! :)

Bungleau 02-25-2005 09:06 AM

Hear that sound, Skippy? That's the sound of dozens of IW members deciding whether or not to utilize that great straight line you just offered up... :D

I, for one, won't touch it ;)

johnny 02-25-2005 09:33 AM

A good nutkick could take away that problem. :D

Or just stay in and play Tiger Woods PGG Tour 2005, like me.

You'd be lucky to touch anything again if you did mate. :D

Callum 02-25-2005 11:48 AM

YOu can't tell us you didn't do that one on purpose

I hate you to the moon and back! :D

Skippy1 02-28-2005 09:08 AM

To the moon and back? That's not hate. In fact I'd say that was bordering on infatuation mate! :) Now if you'd said alpha centauri and back I'd say that I might perhaps annoy you a little, but hate? Nah. :)

SecretMaster 02-28-2005 09:29 AM

Actually the funny thing is we are about to get whopped by a big blizzard (10-14 inches)

I'm in school right now, being dismissed early in 20 min. Hopefully no school tomorrow.

Cloudbringer 02-28-2005 09:36 AM

Oh my, is Skippy talking about his balls again? ;)

Well, your snow is contagious because we're expecting a storm tonight. Of course the weathermen can't decide if it's going to be 3 or 12 inches of the white stuff but we'll see in the morning, I guess!

Bungleau 02-28-2005 11:16 AM

Sorry, Skippy.... missed your eloquent reply. Aside from the fact that you're half a world away, and that you have the wrong *ahem* equipment to keep me interested, you're safe... :D
