What Music do YOU listen to when you workout? I'm sick and tired and listening to "clang, clang" followed by "mother&(*&ing pice of &(*&", so I've decided to buy an MP3 player and stick some of my MP3's on it. I've currently got:
Eye of the Tiger
Burning Heart
Rocky IV traing montage.
Various techno.

Anything else anyone recommends?

When I'm doing cardio I alternate between ZZ Top Greatest Hits, the soundtrack to the Heavy Metal cartoon, a '70s hits disk, and a couple of others. Pretty much anything with a good strong beat that *you* like to hear...

Whatever gets you moving! I've heard of folks even using dance beats for this.
I understand a good internet connection to a good internet station with house music or whatever gets you moving, and a portable device attached could give you all that you would ever need.

I like to use songs that bring up unpleasant memories, or remind me of things I hate, and I use that anger to my advantage during my workout.

Anything speed metal! :D Especially Metallica! :D :D :D

During my infrequent gym sessions there's usually loads of Evernescence and Linkin Park playing over the PA system, and that works for me

As Vulcanrider said, anything with a beat...

Gangrell 02-18-2005 01:29 AM

Whatever I normally listen to.

Like SomeGuy, i use music that gets me angry, and worked up. I suppose it's not so much angry, but it makes me want to fight, hot stuff/people, and scream as loud as i can. I use this to an advantage, and the band that does that for me, is Amon Amarth.

Well, at the gynm I go to, they always play the MAX channel on Austrar, so whatever is on there is what I listen too.
Its generally the "Latest hits" or something ;)

Motown. Its Up, it has a Beat, and there's no negativity involved. Do a set to the Temptations or the Four Tops. Hell, do one set to that old Stevie Wonder Hit 'Uptight' and you'll end like Superman.

Either I pop in one of my favorite CDs, or I actually use a dance mix. And when I say "dance" I don't mean techno/club-type dance music, but songs that I choreograph to. Anything loud, fun, and with a good beat goes. Also, the Kill Bill soundtrack actually works wonders here.

Anything from the Prodigy will do.

The only workouts I do are in the dojo, so a good loud "kiai" does the trick. ;)
