Cmon speak it out! There is no such thing as someone truly fearless! Are you afraid of the dark? Dogs? Buttons like that woman on Maury.
|
...that one day I will lose my temper and seek out the starter of a stupid thread and clobber them around the head with their keyboard and then their monitor :D
|
I guess losing loved ones, public humiliation, becoming a burden to anyone...
Oh and IW closing down... |

Better watch that temper. It may land you in more trouble than you can handle. *cracks his knuckles out of habit* :D |
Pretty much only heights. Not small heights, extreme heights. Like 70 stories up heights.
|
I fear getting my gf pregnant. The thought of nursery rats chewing my mouse lead scares me beyond belief.
|
What do I fear? Helplessness. Random circumstances.
|
airplanes, tall buildings, bridges....the list goes on and on ;)

I have a really bizarre fear. I went on a hike with scouts once; we had to build our own shelter in the forest and sleep there. Then, in the middle of the night, in the middle of the forest, I woke up with something fluffy, soft, and moist on top of my head, making a weird sound (it sounded weird anyway). It was a cat sleeping on my head... and enjoying it apparently (it was purring). And I freaked out! Mainly because I didn't know it was a cat (until it went away - I was too scared to move for a while ). And since then I've been afraid of waking up with a cat sleeping on my head... :( I really like cats, and I catsit for my friends a lot, but I never let them sleep on the bed. I know it's a really stupid and irrational fear, but I can't fall asleep if I think that's a possibility.
Then I'm also afraid of the usual stuff. Pain, really high places, ... |
Well, spiders. I hate them...Ew. And heights aswell, there are more, but i'm lazy so i'm not going to say
[EDIT] Oh, vaskez, does the same apply to stuupid posts that don't help anyone when their supposed to? *hides my Bg2 posts and puts on a big helmet* [ 02-17-2005, 05:29 AM: Message edited by: TheGodThatFailed ] |
Nothing, and I mean nothing freaks me out more than spiders. Arachnophobia I guess, but when I see a meaty little eight-legger with the little hairs an the butt and when it's coming towards me, slowly, not fast, I somehow just freeze. I know that if I squish it, it will no longer come at me, be no threat(altho it isn't) but I just can't bring myself to do it. Dogs, wolves, snakes and all the other stuff I feel completely fine when around, not jittery, scared or anything, but spiders turn my blood cold.

Erm... mild arachnophobia I guess... I don't freak out or anything... And I could touch or hold them if necessary I think... Just if I see one on the desk or wall or somewhere... I have to watch it... until I either kill it (though I don't really like doing that...) or I or it move far enough away...

Double post, callum

Knowledge is power they say, so just why would I want to let potential adversaries know my weaknesses?
But seriously, I have this weird fear of heights where I'm compelled to stand/sit/lie down really close to the edge of a really high, sheer drop and look down at the bottom. A nudge or even a change in wind could send me plunging to my death, that's how close a look I take at it. Just begs the question, am I facing my fears, or do I have some kind of death wish? |
I have a fear of not being there to protect my children and my wife. Its probably a form of paranoia...but for example I'll worry that if I move too far away from my toddler and he's too close to the curb in the front yard, that he might run into the street and be hit by a car.
Everytime I hear of an accident on the radio traffic reports that's on the highway my wife takes home from work, I worry that its her and the boys. Every time the cats run around like horses downstairs in the middle of the night, I worry whether it really is the cats or is someone breaking in...which usually drives me to get up and check the whole house. |
Heights , places with water ( rivers, sea etc ) , Death of two people...

I'm scared of hurting people, I guess. I'd rather not, anyways.
This reminds me of a good joke, though. Girlfriend asks this guy what he's afraid of: B/F: I dunno, what are you most afraid of? G/F: That you'll find someone better, and leave me alone...! What are you most afraid of? B/F: (Instantaneously) Bears... LMAO!! |
Fears? Wasps... Nightmares. I hate nightmares, even the ones you have a vague control over. Because... They ruin the day for you. I have a fear of asteroids crashing into earth and volcanoes, due to a nightmare... And 'Life Support Machines'. Another nightmare caused phobia. Drowning... Dying helplessly, being under too much pressure - physically or mentally. Needles... Confusion, frustration and not being able to do anything about it (Helplessness again). Being autistic, I hate being 'in the dark' in important social situations.
Oh, and whenever I am close to an edge high from the ground... I get this overwhelming urge to... JUMP! JUMP LASS JUMP!!!! *Shivers* [ 02-17-2005, 03:39 PM: Message edited by: Dariana ] |

I'm not really scared of anything. I mean, if someone pointed a gun at me, i'd be scared, but I don't go around worrying about people pointing guns at me. Therefore, I would not say that I was scared of guns. Does that make sense?
What I am trying to say is that everyone would feel fear in cerain situations. But until those situations arose, why would you feel fear. In my normal day to day life, I do not fear anything. |
Height and depth.
Boat and Planes are two example of that. I was born on the ground, that's my element, and that's where I stay. |
I fear, in no particular order:
Ann Coulter Poly-cotton blends Head cheese Public bathrooms Needles Doctors [ 02-17-2005, 04:40 PM: Message edited by: Illumina Drathiran'ar ] |
Lesbians... whenever they look at me I always get the feeling they are thinking, "There, thats the reason I'm not heterosexual"...

I am a man without fear. :D
On more serious note tough, I fear ... no wait ... I hate needles. [ 02-17-2005, 04:44 PM: Message edited by: Xen ] |
I'm scared of spiders. And also any small creature that might jump on me, like grasshoppers or toads. Seriously, toads jump AT you when you go near them, rather than away. That's it I think. There are things I don't like or avoid but I wouldn't say I'm frightened of them. And things that I would be frightened of, like sharks or something, were I in a situation where they were, but otherwise I'm not.
I'm not scared of heights, but while we were in Europe climbing up all sorts of monuments (at HIS insistence!) I discovered my brother is really afraid of heights. It was sort of funny :D |

Huh, what do I fear...
Well, as far as fears go, I'm on the same boat as Dace at the moment. Other than that, I don't know, probably tornadoes, always had a fear of those things. Not sure why, guess because I nearly had one land on top of me before, scary stuff. [ 02-18-2005, 01:46 AM: Message edited by: Gangrell ] |
Well big spiders, that heart beating noise, veins and used teabags. Oh and being bludgeoned to death with a hammer and sickle by a fat Russian.

Something that doesn't scare me, but makes me nervous and shakey, is insects in genral. Eew.
|
I tend towards fear of the elements...
In Order: Meteors/Asteroids/Comets Volcanoes (Volcano traumatized me O.o) Tornadoes Tsunamis Earthquakes Nuclear Holocaust |
That I'll not be able to keep the people I love safe.
about the only other thing I truly fear is myself, somtimes I just can't look in the mirror. Though it might be self loathing more than fear. |
Not having a job would scare the crap out of me. Don't like flying much either.
