Yes, work sucks! My boss keeps messing with my hours so that I can't even have a social life! I have tried to compromise with him, but all he does is give me this "Me boss, you worker" crap, and then complements that with more hours. ARGLE!!!

Edit: No Need for the swearing :D

Yeah work can get pretty sucky some times. Its been hard for me at the moment with super high sales targets for my team when we are working at 50% of staff.

I don't recall ever blindly doing anything i didn't want to do. An employer is your boss, yes...but that doesn't mean he literally owns you. If what he tells you to do seems absurd to you, don't be afraid to tell him to kiss your ass. So what if you lose your job ? A job that feels like slavery isn't much of a job to begin with, right ? You'll feel good about yourself afterwards.

My job is great,
it's flexable, i get to smash things, drive a forklift, and use powertools.
I get paied at the end of every day in cash (thus no tax) and it's a lot of fun, although hard, but i'm learning a lot.
I work (temporarily that is before i go to uni) at a mechanic/truck wrecker, long story how i got that job, but it's a lot of fun there.

Anyway, you could try to bear with it, you are getting paid, (i don't know how old you are, so i don't know what situation you are in), money being good stuff and hours are good, but your boss sounds a bit opressive, so deffinatly consider looking for a new job.

What is your current job/situation may i ask?

I'm at the point in my work were if I manage to avoid my boss mostly over the day it is a pretty good day... he can get so annoying and mad... literally, I think some of his fits would qualify as a symptom for insanity... other than that I kind of like my job, although it is time for a change

I get paid $20 an hour to backup a banks databases and run daily programs overnight. The hours are shit, but the perks are thus:

- Good pay
- Lots of free time (typically I only work about 2 hours I am actually there, the rest of the time is spent waiting for backups to happen)
- No dress code
- Being paid to play on the Internet and sleep for upto 2 hours at a time while backups are going...

So, not too bad

You are a better person than me. I couldn't stand working my Mc-Job. I hadda leave due to the fact that the pay wasn't enuff and more importantly the ppl come up there and expect to get thier butts kissed over a 99 cent cheeseburger. The customers ARE right. PERIOD (unless the manager says so). But the reactions to mistakes is WAY overdone. Ppl should have the "punishment fit the crime" attitude. I've seen ppl try running money scams (pay for a 99 cent cheeseburger with a 50; then try to run some game that gets them change for a 50; plus a free cheeseburger) and then get screaming pissed off becuz they screwed up the scam (these ppl aren't THAT stupid), I've seen ppl try to get free food when the order was correct; and I've seen sandwiches thrown in a persons face when they didn't even make the durned thing. If someone had thrown a sammich at me I'd be in jail; cuz I'd put someones face in the frier (and on security camera; too). Addmittedly; most of the ppl I worked with were ding-bats (to put it nicely); and I never had a problem with ANY food I made and/or handed out. I just think more ppl should try to see things from more than just thier side... but thats asking a lot.

I have been a FOR REAL cook, and I don't believe you can deliver quality food in under a minute; but I DO believe in giving a person quality food. I just think that for myself; I need to stay outta fast food (so I quit and got a better job).

So, again; you are stronger than me.

I love my job. High pay, lots of overtime (60+ hours/ week is typical), and best of all the foreman only comes by 1 to 2 times in a 12 hour shift so no one bothers me most of the night.
