Hmm... nice question... Do maces count? If yes, then that Sauron's big bad flanged mace. If only swords, then I guess I'd choose a scimitar, maybe even a falchion. Something about that curved blade and hilt just radiates coolness..

Katana, sans doubt! It's light and fast.

well any hand helled weapon. personly i would go for something light, inflicts heaps of damage and can cut through armour. i think a long sword or a katana.

Certainly a recurved sword. I really liked Arwen's sword in 'Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring' that was nice. Sleek and elegant and I concur with Bozos, the curves make is very nice to handle.

I would dual wield with the Dagger that Aragorn carries, the one Celeborn gave him in Fellowship ED. That also looks very nice.

Scythe: Weapons like the katana, wakizashi, and tantou were historically some of the finest crafted blades around.

Personally I'd go with a Jian (Chinese straight sword used in taiji-jian and many other traditional Chinese martial arts). Or maybe the Japanese horse cutting sword (would you know what this is called, Kakero?) just for sheer intimidation factor. Of course most people can't even lift one, but it would make an interesting conversation piece. ^__^

A naginata(Japanese halberd) would also be pretty fancy. ;)


The only melee weapons I have(besides the kitchen knives :D ) are kukri knives - Nepalese war knives. The blade is optimal for cutting throats. :eek: Here are some pictures.


However I have yet to collect swords so cool that they make you want to drool. :D

and my likeness for wakazashi comes from kenshin as well, Aoshi, the coolest swordsman ^^

Rurouni Kenshin was a fun anime. It had so many cool characters - Kenshin, Sanosuke, Shishou, Aoshi, Seijuro, Saitoh, Soujiro, Amakusa, that mean looking bulky fist-fighting priest guy(forgot the name :D ) and probably some more - My favourites of which were Amakusa, Soujiro and Aoshi.

I am discussing our disagreement. It (Zuvio's post) stereotypes to a huge extent. It also lumps all swords produced by the west as being "Stiff, Log, Heavy metal", in short, unweildy pieces of crap .This is simply not true. Zuvious also states blades from the east as requiring a "Skilled touch". This is true of any blade. The Katana, for example while overrated IS an excellent weapon, though it's not the "end all uber sword" that many make it appear to be. What I have a problem with, is the gross lumping of all western swords as brutal hacking tools. Yes, your right. We disagree. His statement simply isn't true.
