Well it's that time of year again, and we always have at least one thread asking what our new year's resolutions are. Alex has already posted one for this year! But I want to know - what were your resolutions for 2004, and did you keep them?

I can't even remember if I made any, that's how serious my effort was to achieve them!

Sir Goulum 12-31-2004 05:28 PM

Didn't make any, and I never do! They're kinda pointless, really...

Kestrel Daystar 12-31-2004 05:28 PM

My new years resolution was to not get drunk as much....

... I failed miserably

Yes I made to be more succesfull in school. And I was pretty succesfull. So I rule I guess! :D

Illumina Drathiran'ar 12-31-2004 06:17 PM

I resolved to stop making jokes that were either sarcastic, puns, or at someone else's expense. I also resolved to be less cynical. Finally, I resolved to discover cold fusion.

I figured if I gave myself equally impossible goals, I had to achieve at least one of them. I guess I was wrong.

I made 3, less drinking, less slacking and break the first 2 before 3rd of february... I achieved one of them...

philip 12-31-2004 08:01 PM

I didn't make any for 2004. For 2005 I want to get my exams and high enough to get into medicine without trouble but I'll see. Think the second one is don't mind it if I don't get that marks. Those 2 together would make it doing the best I can :D

Gangrell 12-31-2004 08:05 PM

I'm curious, does anyone actually follow the resolutions they make?

I try to if I think it's generally a good idea. If I think it's stupid anyway I most likely won't even try. For example completely stopping with drinking. I know I won't do that anyway cause I just like the taste (i.e. not only drinking to get drunk) so I go for the balance not nothing at all and not too much.

For my amusement at least I hope you never achieve your goals Illumina, except of course the cold fusion aim. Is that some sort of 70's era disco dance?

Q'alooaith 12-31-2004 09:40 PM

I kinda keep mine, I alway's aim to be a little more outgoing, a little less resevered and enjoy myself more, and I tend to do it pretty well..

and one I keep the same each year is to aim beyond my reach in everything I do, so basicaly to do my best.. Which is what I do.. But somtimes I don't do my best all the time, but it was my best at the time..

Kakero 01-01-2005 12:58 AM

I don't make mine. I just follow the waves. been doing that for a long time, so far so good. why change? ;)

Zuvio 01-01-2005 06:55 AM

I'll settle with taking over the world...

This will be tough. You'll have to beat first.

Zuvio 01-01-2005 08:40 AM

I'll take over the world in a parallel dimension, should settle that.....

Attalus 01-01-2005 11:47 AM

I resolved to go back on Atkins and drop the weight I had picked up. I did that.

Hmm Illumina, I don't see why stopping sarcastic joking should be a resolution... :D

As I said in Alex's thread, I'm kinda like Aelia, except I don't need to try and remember whether I made any resolutions last year, cos I know I didn't. Although I do try and improve myself, it is an on-going process, no need to make resolutions at new year.

Atkins? I studied that once, had very mixed feelings about it. Did it really worked for you and did you experience any side-effects/weird symptoms? Nausea, sleeplessness?

I was on it for a year, lost 53 lbs, and felt just great the whole time. My cholesterol went from 243 to 188. Triglcerides, LDL, VHDL down, too. My mouth felt dry at times, but sips of water helped with that.

TheGodThatFailed 01-01-2005 07:21 PM

I said i would try better in school - that failed
i said i would get out more - that worked
I said i would...wait, that's it.

Intrepid 01-02-2005 08:52 PM

Wear shoes less

and perhaps do less stupid things

johnny 01-02-2005 09:28 PM

I promise i'll stop robbing old ladies.

Blunderbuss 01-03-2005 03:49 AM

My last year's resolution was 1024 x 768 hahaha *ahem* yerss...moving on.

I don't set resolutions as I find they're not as resolute as I like to think.

You know Aelia I can not remember if I had made any new year's resolutions. So I guess if I did then I did not keep them.

</font>
Sarcastic Vaskez yes, amusing Vaskez often, cranky Vaskez occasionally, but boring Vaskez? Is this a new persona for 2005 ???
