Whats the best game after baldur's gate/TOB that is the same style?. I havn't done TOB yet but I can't be bothered playing through SOA again. Want something new.
Thanks Warby |
Eh... if by game engine, wait for IWD2 to come out. If by gameplay, go for NWN.
|
not so much in the same style, but, Planescape Torment for me is No 2.
Icewind-I is very nice also |
IMHO, NWN is way too short, and definately too easy even on the hardest diffculty.

i just got torment and even though i just started i already love it. there aren't alot of npcs but the ones there are are awesome. morte is the funniest npc ever(followed closely by minsc) Annah is awesome(the only thief) and you get a gith fighter/mage with gith specific spells.

video spell casting is very impressive!
|
Yeah Planescape: Torment is definatly the best after Baldur's Gate 2.
|
Go for morrowind.
|
Morrowvind is WAY long and WAY difficult but quite good...
If U want something in style like BG2ToB get IWD2 or for a more 3d experience IŽd get NWN Like Spawkie says the world will never be the same when Bg is no more Som en gammel rotte kan jeg jo kun sige at Danmark styrer for VILDT |
I played Planescape:Torment before ever seeing the BG series. And I may say that it is a bit lamerish as compared to original BG. The rules are way simplified, and that feature of giving a new stat each level makes the game WAY too easy. So easy that a lvl 6 mage completed it solo!! But from the gameplay point of view it is very interesting, I also loved the world of Planescape and enjoed it. What a pity that they do not give an opportunity to wander around a bit after completing the game?? I had plenty of quests not completed yet...

PST Rules. It smites the BG series to pieces!
|
I recently played Planescape:Torment through for the first and only time. It is an amazing RPG with an amazing storyline, and BG should have definitely taken some pointeres from PST (in terms of in-depth dialogue and role-playing development.)
BUT...if your system/graphics card can handle it alright, Neverwinter Nights is where it's at. Too short??? I think the single-player game takes quite a while if you do all the side-quests and everything, and anyhow...it is geared toward multiplayer play......people always complain about how you can only have on hencman.....WELL, you are supposed to get on with friends and have a WHOLE party of people--that is, actual people that are playing. Mods are coming out constantly (my best friend is working on an excellent, huge one that he will put out very soon).......play Neverwinter Nights, PST is excellent but I'm sorry to say that it is a little outdated now. |
A good game is NEVER outdated.
BG2 and PST will be played in 22th century on PC emulators. [ 08-28-2002, 02:22 PM: Message edited by: Vedran ] |
