There have been a few strange things auctioned lately but this beats all...

I'm not sure. If the story is true, then at least there's a point to it. And It did only go for $78.

Whereas that nutri-grain piece went for over $1,000 AU.

Crazy world.

Iron Greasel 12-05-2004 09:06 AM

Ah. Eh. Umh.
People are scary.

On the other hand, one could get rich with this kind of stuff. How much would you pay for, lets say... the Spirit of New Age?

Bozos of Bones 12-05-2004 09:07 AM

So the ghost is evil, but the kindest soul in the world... Some people are simply desperate...

$1000 and an Epson 125 printer!

...and the entire A-Team too!

Good ol' Bubba.

Beaumanoir 12-06-2004 05:03 PM

Sigmar, Now I agree with you.

It was sold for $65,000.

I hate the world. And everyone in it.

dplax 12-06-2004 05:12 PM

Actually the seller added this info (which IMO means her objective is not to make money on it):

On Dec-05-04 at 05:26:10 PST, seller added the following information:

As you can see I have cancelled those outrageous bids for this. Please don't go overboard on this. I just want to make my son feel at ease here. I am trying to read everyones questions. I know there are copy-cats with the exact same auction going on. Although I am glad they took some of the attention away from here I don't like the few that are using my fathers photo.
I am a nervous wreck right now, I can't believe this went so far. Please keep the bidding at a minimum.. Thank you

Beaumanoir, I'm glad you can now see the truth!

Variol (Farseer) Elmwood 12-06-2004 08:10 PM

How do you ship something like that? "AIR" mail!?!?

:D :D

Intrepid 12-07-2004 07:57 AM

It looks like all you have to di is to come up with a unique item, that's seemingly priceless, and you can make a heap of money.
Well it could work, now to find something....

Spelca 12-07-2004 09:20 AM

Whatever happened to that guy who was selling his virginity? :D

RoSs_bg2_rox 12-07-2004 12:05 PM

Nah, the worst thing on sale on ebay righ now is gold for everquest, 5gold is a bargain at only £28, incl. VAT of course :D

Sir Kenyth 12-07-2004 04:36 PM

I doubt anyone actually paid for the item. The winning bidder account looks questionable at best. Running up a horrendous amount on the auction forces the seller to contact ebay to cancel the equally horrendous fee Ebay will charge on the sale.

EBay is just a madhouse these days, there is no way i'm giving up my gold from EQ 2, muahahahah.

But i really am going to try to find something with some spiritual value to sell there

Hivetyrant 12-07-2004 11:25 PM

Ow man, the bidding has ended... :(
I wanted the old ghost cane :D

Gangrell 12-07-2004 11:33 PM

Makes me want to put up some BS item just to see how much money I can get off of it.

armageddon272 12-08-2004 10:22 AM

geez, St.Mary in some peanut butter, ET in a cornflake, now someone's ghost. i might as well take a dump right now, and see how much i can get for it. then see how much more i can get for it if i carve the face of Jesus into it.

Sigmar 12-08-2004 12:29 PM

LOL Armageddon. :D

"Holy $h%£!" ...use your imagination.
