Lordy it is slow here tonight. What are yall staring at? The same threads, maybe give or take a few new ones, that have been here for days. Sad sad it is! Do none of you have anything to say? Just lurking and reading and sighing and bored eh?

Well (thinking heh), what are yall doing for Thanksgiving?? Visiting relatives? Cooking yourself for relatives? None of the above? Don't like turkey? Ever put a raw cleaned-out turkey on your head? Can you smoke a ciggarette and drink a beer at the same time? And would you want too? Do you despise sweet potatoes as much as I do?

Gah, give me something!

Spirits forever 11-20-2004 09:23 PM

ahh...Thanks giving, the long deserved time for me to complete the drawings that i've been umm...too busy to do, yeah that includes Dron's, Maj's and ivellis's and my stupid tablet which is supposed to be here today isn't ...

for thanks giving, drawings..and if i'm lucky a date with a special someone..but that's not likely at the moment, hopefully this week'l do better ^^

and...hmm yeah that's my plan, no relative, no turkey, and yes i have put a cleaned out turkey on my head..felt..so weird...but what you really have to do is put ur hand in there, and play as a puppet, it is SOO funny!! yup..how about you?

johnny 11-20-2004 09:24 PM

I'm sitting here wondering what the hell i'm still up for, and i really don't have a clue. So thanks for opening my eyes, i'm off to bed.

Ladyzekke 11-20-2004 09:43 PM

LOL Spirits Forever! That's the "spirit!" It's just not the same if nobody puts the turkey over their head, seriously....

Oh and good luck on your drawings.

Heee Johnny, you are most welcome. :D

Maj 11-20-2004 09:49 PM

Maybe I don’t have anything to say…

I’m having relatives over and cooking for them. Last year when I had someone over for Thanksgiving she didn't eat anything!

Turkey is okay. And no must say I’ve never put a raw cleaned-out turkey on my head, interesting concept. I don’t think I can smoke a cigarette and drink a beer at the same time, never tried though. ;) I kinda like sweet potatoes.

Your going to work on that drawling for me Spirits? Wondered if maybe you'd decided not to do it or something. That would be cool... my signature isn't at it's best right now.

Bungleau 11-20-2004 10:17 PM

We're driving half-way down the country to spend Thanksgiving at my in-laws. Works out well... my MIL loves to cook, and I love to eat :D

Got the plug-in TV, we'll get a stash of movies, and we'll plug one quiet-pill after another into the critter and have a nice peaceful trip down south.

Back up... that's a different matter ;)

SomeGuy 11-20-2004 10:29 PM

Thanksgiving... turkey... sweet potatoes... the sound of the youngun's running around Gram-gram's house... The Ancient One (Grandpa ) griping about something and speaking old people giberish... and the annual fight between me and my cousin! I'm hoping to beat him this year. And no, I can't smoke and drink a beer at the same time.

ROTFL! Uh, Hi Wendy! No, can't say's I've ever worn a turkey hat/mask... LOL Did you ever see the "Friends" episode where Monica did it and scared Joey? :D

We just took our frozen tom turkey out of the freezer to thaw in the fridge til Thursday. We're having dinner at home and will make mashed potatoes and gravy (stuffing too of course!), pumpkin pie, peas, green bean casserole, carrots and cranberry sauce. I can't stand sweet potatoes ...blech or the cranberry sauce, actually but other people like it.

We'll have pickles, cheese and other little snacks for nibbling before the big meal, late in the afternoon.

Hmm.. Have YOU been wearing turkeys lately? Ever? LOL!

Stormymystic 11-21-2004 01:03 AM

*drops her glass on the floor* is it that soon for Thanksgiving? umm, sheesh I do not even know where I am going to end up this year :/ I think we are going to hubby's family, but then again, this most likely being the last one with my grandmoter.....wow hard choice.

No, never had the turkey on my head... (akward silence) Anyways, I'm going home for Thanksgiving, and letting my mom cook, so that's very cool. Also, I dislike sweet potatos and cranberry sauce, as well. ;)

Well, you're not gonna gat any non-American's on this thread are you?
Except me because in my work I only deal with US customers. So it's a 4 day weekend for me, sans Turkey!

But, no Thanksgiving for you, right?

Lady Blue03 11-21-2004 07:41 AM

My Thanksgiving will be awesome...the night before will be spent at a Metallica concert, and straight from the concert two of my best friends and I are driving to Utah to Emily's (one of the best friends) grandma's house in Cedar City. Eating there, then Friday and Saturday is booked for snowboarding in Brianshead

LOL one night a few months ago there was a big ruckus outside in our barbeque area. When my brother went to investigate he found a possum had put its head inside a smallish watering can and was crashing around trying to get it off, with no success. My brother had to catch it and pull the watering can off its head so it wouldn't kill itself. It looked just like when Monica put the turkey on her head, or well when Mr Bean put the turkey on his head since he was the first to do that joke, or at least before Friends did it anyway ;)

Yes, well that's my only contribution to this thread, since I'm not American and don't practice Thanksgiving... ;)

Ladyzekke 11-21-2004 06:07 PM

We are going to my aunt's house this year for Thanksgiving. I wish instead I could cook. That's the only bad thing about visiting ol' auntie's, no leftovers! No turkey sammiches the next day!

Oh, looks like they've added some new "flavors" to this site this year.

Green Bean casserole soda, mmmmm! (NOT!)

Well, Nacht just heard me read the new 'flavors' and he said "I think I'm gonna hurl", among other things! HAHAHA! Those are so ...unappetizing!

Ladyzekke 11-21-2004 06:19 PM

I know! I don't see any prices on this website, but I heard on the radio they go for $60 per bottle!

T/-/alali 11-21-2004 07:20 PM

I have no less than 21 people at my house, it's big, but My brother and I have to give up our rooms... and sleep on the floor. I hate the floor...

Ladyzekke 11-21-2004 07:48 PM

Wow that's a lot of people T/-/alali! Sorry bout the floor sleeping deal you will get stuck with. I remember those days from when we used to go to my Grandparents when I was younger, although I guess I fared better than you, somewhat, as in I got the couch, but had to share it with a Golden Retriever (was his sleeping spot overnight apparently LOL). :D

Never thought of cooking myself for relatives or anyone else, though I have taken some really hot showers.

I'm going to work, then maybe cook up some beans and weanies. Open invitation to all IW members Hmmm have I ever started a fart thread?

Ladyzekke 11-21-2004 09:40 PM

LOL Arvon. When I re-read my post, before I hit the reply button, I thought that phrase may be taken two ways, but I decided to keep it as it was, and see if anyone noticed LOL.

LofA, I'd almost rather eat beanie weenies with you than go to aunties (actually it's not "my" auntie, but my hubby's, even though I call her aunt). Sometimes we are there for sooo long! Just...sitting...at...a...table... Last Christmas Eve we were there for SEVEN HOURS!!! And all the women (3) had dripping nose colds, and they were just all around the snack tray AND the food! I got sick a week later with it and it stuffed up my ears and I couldn't hear for crap for about 2 months. Fun!

I swear I'm bringing a crossword puzzle book with me this time. And I told my hubby that if we end up there for frikken 7 hours again? That's it, I'm not going there again for at least 5 years! LOL I mean it, just ridiculous. He doesn't notice that I sit there and everyone is babbling amongst themselves, and I end up just sitting there. He's blabbing his ass off in another room to his uncles, as they watch football on TV (bleh) and does not take me into consideration sitting there inspecting my nails and every iota of the dining room and kitchen LOL. I mean I'm not that unsociable, I'm not wanting to "hit and run" during family holiday visits, but I feel 7 hours is just too much for me to sit there drinking glass after glass of iced tea. Again, crossword puzzle book and a BIG one LOL. Gotta do something.

it is the same for me, I get bored setting there trying to figure out what everyone is talking about....things Check out my new bra.....*shivers at the memory of actually seeing it....

And Stormy... I just really don't want to know what goes on down in that part of the country, I really don't :D
