It can change anytime for me but this is it at the moment also in no particular order:

Oleg Gasmanov- Izbrannoe
Tatu- 200 Po Vstrechiy Metallica- Master Of Puppets Metallica- Metallica (black) Metallica- ...And Justice For All the previous albums kick butt :D ! |
None of those are in my top 5 dirty meg but they are great albums, though I have not heard Al Stewart - Past present and future.
just my opinion that any list of greatist albums should have any album newer than 5 years old banned, Albums should have to stand the test of time and fashion before being named a classic IMO. Barcley James Harvest....live tapes Joni mitchell .... Blue Beatles.... White Guns and roses ... appatite for destruction Genisis .... seconds out *note these are all true vynal albums not cd's or greatist hits collections and is subject to change at any moment as the mood strikes* :D |
Only 5 ? Sheesh thats hard.
Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dreams Bob Dylan - Highway 61 revisited Radiohead - Bends Tom Waits - Small Changes Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - The Boatman's Call I could mention so many others but these are the once I'm listening to mostly these days... |

Radiohead's The Bends is also an excellent CD, and if I ever feel inspired to write poetry, I dunno why, but having that CD playing in the background really helps me, puts me in the right frame of mind maybe. Either way, a very special CD for me as well. I hate Smashing Pumpkins though LOL. :D Whiney ass voice that guy has, irritates the hockey sticks out of me. |
Hmmm... in no particular order...
Rush: Moving Pictures KISS: Alive! Blackthorne: Tonight's the Night for Drinking Eve Selis: Eve Selis Billy Joel: Storm Front Moving Pictures is the first album I played drums to (and I've still got the vinyl, Wellard!). Blackthorne and Eve Selis are local bands (Detroit and San Diego, last I knew). |
another couple of decent albums by musical comedians.
Dirt by Tom Green and the Arrogant Worms and Superhero by Stephen Lynch |
ummm...Dirt was purely the Arrogant Worms...no Tom Green...just the Worms...whom I happen to love!
|
Himsa-courting tradegy and disaster
Sublime-40 oz to freedom Sublime-Bradley and friends martyr ad-on earth as in hell Project Pat-layin the smack down |

Boatman's Call came out in 1997, it's absolutly wonderful, especially two songs Into my arms ans And Are you the one I've been waiting for.
I also have the Best of cd and the new double album which is great. And yes, Billy Corgan is whiney... but when the music is that good, I don't really care... |
Pink Floyd - The Wall
Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here Pink Floyd - Dark Side Of The Moon Led Zeppellin - Led Zeppellin IV Mike Oldfield - Tubular Bells |
Listening to Nick Cave isn't that unique, though - he's actually rather well known just below the billboard radar. I listen to his music quite frequently, and so does for example Melusine IIRC.
As for my top 5 favourite albums, I suppose that's a thing that's a thing that's constantly changing. You can find a top 100 I did 6 months ago here, but it's not very up to date anymore. I suppose the top 5 is basically still the same, though. |
I notice you kicked David Bowie from your top 5 Dirty Meg, why? :(
|
This isn't really a top 5, I dont think I can rate music like that.. But these are some albums that come to mind:
The Smashing Pumpkins - Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness Radiohead - OK Computer The Smashing Pumpkins - Machina, the Machines of God Blur - Blur Pink Floyd - The Wall Yes, that is two Smashing Pumpkins albums.. but I just happen to be the biggest SP fan in the world ;) and ladyzekke.. alot of people feel that way about Billy Corgans voice, but it really doesnt bother me. And he writes superb songs! |
Strange you'd name Machina as one of your favourite albums, though - as far as SP-records go, Siamese Dream is a lot better than that one. As a (former?) SP-fan, I thought Machina would have been a lot better if Corgan just scrapped about half of the songs (I really could have done without Heavy Metal Machine and Glass and the Ghost Children, to name a few). But you're entitled to your opinion, of course.
Good thing you didn't mention that dreadful Zwan album, though. ;) [ 11-07-2004, 02:50 PM: Message edited by: Grojlach ] |

God bless you, Sir Exxon!! (Wipes a tear from his eye)
Anyways, sadly, I cannot partake. I refuse to rate Metallica over Metallica. To give an idea, though, my five favorite albums, fluctuate often, but right now, they are: Master of Puppets, Ride the Lightning, Reload, Metallica, Garage Inc. In no particular order. ;) |
