ok, the problem is this...everytime I use a shift key I get something strange that happens....the right shift brings up the search screen, while the left shift brings up the calculator. question is, how do I fix this [insert question mark here] I can use the caps key to make a capital letter, but anything requiringthe use of a shift key without opening the things above, and if I hold it down to use another key, it opens all kinds of strange things, where do I fix this [insert question mark]

<span style="color: lightblue">What brand of keyboard is it?

What kind of batteries does it take?

What brand of keyboard is it? micro innovations
How long have you had it?about 6-9 months
What kind of batteries does it take? AA batteries, and the lightis not one saying to change them
How long since you changed/recharged them? been about a month now....
it seems to have stopped now, not sure hwy it was doing that, did it a few nights ago too, right after some bad spyware, malware, and other nasty stuff got put on my comp from a link I clicked.

Moral of the story: Anything wireless sucks. I despise them all, it's just companies coming up with gimics... Wires to the end.

lol, the only "wireless" thing I use is my keyboard, just so I can sit further from my computer and still use it, but everything else is corded.

Variol (Farseer) Elmwood 10-31-2004 06:26 PM

Maybe you were getting signal from somewhere else messing you up?

Could be that keyboard mapper problem. Somewhere in Windows, you can set up hotkeys for various things. Somehow, one may have gotten set for your shift key. Does it happen for both shift keys?

If that's it, find the hotkey mapper and remove them. If I knew exactly where it was, I'd tell ya, but I don't :( Check Windows help for specifics.

well, I started having more problems with it, so I restored my computer, and strangely enough that fixed it. perhaps there was something wrong with the driver *shrugs*

I have a wireless mouse and it's great,
i love to get back to this computer, and use this mouse.
Why do wireless things suck? they remove the cables that tie you to a desk. personally i love wireless technologies.

I don't use anything wireless on my PC, but I'm not apposed to it in any way. I think the big thing might be interference issues with all the wireless stuff around. There's also the environmental issue since the batteries will eventually end up in the dump... so I guess I am somewhat apposed to it..
