Why do they call it world champions when they didn't have matches against other team of other countries? hmm?

I think it should be set up that if you want to claim the title of world champion then you must play teams from other countries.

FOR EXAMPLE: The National champions from Cuba, Japan, Australia, USA and all other major baseball nations play off. The winner is the world champion(sorry if I left any countires out).
