So, I was thinking the other day:

-What happened to tan M&Ms?
-What happened to those other two Twix flavors?

Anybody got some answers?

They fell down a hole and died...No, they probably just weren't successful in the trial runs. That happens a lot with food companies...they try limited releases with new products, and if they aren't successful, then they are nixxed.

When they changed the caliber of the plain M&M's, they found that tan just wasn't as efficient a casing. [img]tongue.gif[/img]

Actually, they did away with tan and one other color and added the colors chosen by consumers in a contest of some sort a few years ago, didn't they? Seems like that is how the blue M&M's came about.

My guess on the other flavors of Twix is that they just didn't sell enough. If they do still make them, they must not be popular enough to make it into your market, or mine for that matter.

Remember Zero bars? The outside on the inside, and the inside on the outside candy bar? I always loved those, but I haven't seen one in years.

That's true! There used to be dark and light brown m&ms, now only dark... how curious! I have to say I don't love the black and white m&ms they have now. The white ones just look like when you suck a normal one and all the colour comes off. Yick!

I could look into it for ya. One of my close friends is into the candy buisness. She work for Nestle. I love it when she lets me try all the new candy bars coming out. :D

Zero's have made a big comeback here in Arkansas :D I love them, yummy....

Someone bought the whole lot and ate it all.

They went the same place as Crystal Pepsi. Whatchamacallit bars went there too, but they managed to escape for a little while.

Precisely, SomeGuy. It was such a roaring success that it has completely disappeared.

Somewhere in the mid-1990s or so, Pepsi came out with Crystal. I don't even remember what was supposed to be different; perhaps it was clear, like 7-Up.

Anyway, it died. Big time. Horribly.

I have seen people mention it quite frequently.

Ahh... Jolt... All the sugar and twice the caffeine :D I remember it from my university days, when someone in the dorms was building a wall of empty Jolt cans. It was quite large, and quite impressive...

Jolt is still on the web, from a quick Google search... and they now offer Jolt Espresso, too [img]smile.gif[/img] They've got a locator to help you find the Jolt distributor near you, so you can find a place to get some :D

You know, I dont think I ever saw any other flavors of Twix bars.

Most of these chocolate bars I've never heard hide nor hair of them, maybe they are tested in USA, if they are a success move them overseas, UK etc.

They had a huge international on-line vote and they decided purple should be the new M&M color. In my entire life (since 1986) I have NEVER seen a tan M&M... Only dark brown... Blue was added in 1992 with the "I got the blues'" advertising campaign. And now they cover the entire rainbow spectrum. I'm glad they went with purple, they could have actually gone with a permanent pink or sky blue M&M @_@... that would've been terrible lol... Nobody wants lighter colors we want all the pigments covered [img]tongue.gif[/img] It's logical...

Red Orange Yellow Green Blue Purple and Brown as a mixture of all of the above...

The only two M&Ms I havent seen made into characters in commercials are purple and Brown... I've seen Jazzy Blue, Manic Orange, Classic Red, Somewhat slow Yellow, and the sexy green? What is it about the green ones anyway? [img]tongue.gif[/img]

I liked the pink one, DK! I even voted for it! Or actually I think I went to vote but it was a whole procedure and I got tired of all the crap so didn't vote after all. But I remember the pink (and aqua) ones being nice and bright!

But in any case, I have had a lot of m&ms since that vote and they aren't putting purple ones in! What was the point of the vote then?

It is my sad duty to inform you that the Tan M&Ms were killed in a spree killing. Evidently some college student experimenting with drugs went on a wild rampage one night and ate them whole as they were walking home from work. Sadly, the police chalked it up as just another "drug related death..."
