I've seen so many threads lately on cats and all about the clean felines, but where are the people that have the canines? Seriously, I have seen absolutely zero dog people since I came here, so where are you hiding? Do people fear Choc so that they dare not mention it? I shall be the first then

Choc, meet your upstarter :D

Meet the general of the canine army :D

Come on out dog people, let's hear some input.

Felix The Assassin 09-07-2004 12:16 AM

Dog people? Where are they from? What do they do? Is there really such a thing? Dog people, hmm. J/K LOL.

Dron_Cah 09-07-2004 12:26 AM

Well, though I am fully human, one might consider me a "dog person." I have only one, right now, being a fat Cocker Spaniel known as "Isabella." She's about as worthless a dog as you could want! Still like dogs, though.

T-D-C 09-07-2004 12:28 AM

I love my dog but I don't have a photo of him here at work.

He is a Bull Mastiff cross Ridgeback.

VERY big dog!

Ilander 09-07-2004 12:42 AM

I like dogs...but not as much as cats. ;)

Dron_Cah 09-07-2004 12:50 AM

So says the man with neither of the animals!

Maj 09-07-2004 12:54 AM

I love dogs AND cats!

Here are my two dogs Lily (Black Lab/Golden Retriever) and Lucky (Korelian Bear Dog).

And my cat Merlin.

I will get a pic of my dog soon for you her name is cherokee, and she is wolf/shepard mix, she lives with my mom now, because she is very old and I do not want my kids annoying her :D

SecretMaster 09-07-2004 01:50 AM

I watch my neighboors dog when they go away on vacation, if that counts. But then again, they also have two cats that I also watch

Dron_Cah 09-07-2004 02:41 AM

Very cool dogs, Maj.

Maj 09-07-2004 02:47 AM

Thanks! I think so too.

I'm not into dogs, myself. They stink, piss, and shed everywhere. They also leap up onto you the second you come near and bark the place down on top of it all. Give me a cat any day of the week. ;)

Dron_Cah 09-07-2004 02:57 AM

The first three complaints are the reason I dislike cats, Arledrian! And Some dogs don't bark much. My first dog (wonderful animal) almost never barked. Only if he was in immediate pain, or something of the like. Very cool animal, wish he was still around.

That really depends on the dog Arledrian. My first dog (Moose) never had any of those atributes, he was a nice, shy, people pleasing dog. Lucky just barks too much, but Lily is a crazy dog and does leap on you the second you come near.

Plus my cat sheds everywhere! Especially on my bed.

I got 2 dogs. I a tiny version of German Sepherd ( okay I don't know the breed ) named Elly. The other is a golden silver fox ( don't know why they call it that ) named Goldie. Elly is quite fierce and will bite at strangers. That a nice guard dog. Goldie however is the total opposite, she just like to play and play and even want to play with strangers. Imagine that.

Aelia Jusa 09-07-2004 04:44 AM

I love dogs. A picture of our poodle, Bubbles is in the pet album on stealthy's. She's a dear little thing; will be 12 ( ) next week.

Memnoch 09-07-2004 05:34 AM

I'm a huge dog person - until I moved to OZ I always owned a dog. I had a Siberian Husky named Chiri for a while, as well as a Saluki named Blaze (when I was still about 11 or 12). Unfortunately when we moved here to OZ the quarantine laws required them to be quarantined for 6 months or something we couldn't bear to have them cooped up for so long :( so we gave them to my aunt to look after in San Diego. Both of them have passed on now but they lived long, full lives.

Are you people complete INSANE?

You've ruined it ALL!

There has always been an underground movement here at IW for those who love man's best friend, but this type of blatant 'Spot' flaunting can only bring down vengence!

Oh you poor, simple, unsuspecting fools who have chanced all by openly expressing your love of man's best friend(please, in the name of all that is canine, don't say the actual name of the beast again), you just don't realize what forces you have set in motion.

Your foolishness may be forgotten in time, but your bravery and sacrifice will be long remembered. I can only hope that is some small comfort to those left behind who will miss you...

Nice to know there are actually people around here who own dogsd, I thought I was surrounded completely by felines. And wow Aelia, 12 is a big number in dog years, my pup (in the picture) is turning 8 this upcoming febuary.

Good looong life for them

Stormymystic 09-07-2004 09:02 AM

my dog is a little over 10 years old, I am not sure of her real age, she was just a pup when I got her, and that was in 94 :D she is a quiet type, very seldom barks, and very loving. but she did have a mutant pup one time :/ my brothers dog that is bull mastiff/rott/ and something else mix bred with her...she only had one puppy, and the thing was the size of a six week old pup when she was born by the time she was 6 months old, she was bigger than her daddy, and was able to pull a ford tractor sideways! she would lunge at the car, and you could see the marks where the wheels were moving a little at a time :D sadly someone poisoned her because they were to scared of her :( but I still have her mother

LordKathen 09-07-2004 11:06 AM

I will have a dog, when I have my own yard/house. I want a Rott. His name will be Orion.
Unfortunately it's hard to own a dog if you spend many hours away from home as my sis and I do - we work long hours and tend to go away on the weekend. Dogs are so much more social than cats are and we didn't think it was fair on the poor dog to be alone all the time. :( Plus it's a bit hard if you're in an apartment.

Cats are great for us at the moment because they can please themselves when they're alone but can still be social, and our kitty is almost doglike in how social she is - I'm teaching her to sit up and fetch at the moment. :D

A puppy named kitty.... Strange.

Also, everyone, please remember me, after the wrath of felines comes down on me! :D

Attalus 09-07-2004 01:58 PM

I have three dogs, a registered Black Labrador Retriever named Scipio Africanis, Skippy for short; a Golden Retriever, Rhett; and a black Lab mix, Libby. We have a small grey cat named Zachary, too.

Jonas Strider 09-07-2004 04:11 PM

i love dogs. my fav is the lovable mutt or th straight breed ridgeback.

Xen 09-07-2004 04:16 PM

I am a dog lover myself. (Sorry ) :D
I am getting a Belgian Shepard or Malinuas in near future.

Ivelliis 09-07-2004 04:28 PM

I didn't used to like dogs, now I've got a siberian huskey they're not bad. His name is Zovyn (Zov-in), not sure why my parents named him that.
He sheds all over, constantly, everything has dog hair all over, its so annoying.
And he pulls when walking him, he is a dog made to pull sledges, but when he sees another dog or cat he just refuses to stop pulling.
Plus he is really stupid, running into a closed patio door, damn that was funny.
Still, wouldn't trade him for the world :D

Arvon 09-07-2004 05:14 PM

I have an older Keeshond. Her name is Gidget and we got her from rescue. I'm currently looking to get another Kees from rescue.

Sythe 09-07-2004 05:40 PM

I wish I had a dog. *sigh* Instead of a lazy, cat that doesn't appreciate you unless you let him outside or give him food!

Vaskez 09-07-2004 05:43 PM

Who needs a dog? They just crap everywhere :D this thread reminds me of a nice hungarian saying... when someone says that something nearly happened and in your opinion that's crap because it was nowhere near happening then you say (translated) "yeah right, and even the dog nearly doesn't take a shit" :D

anyways, any opne have DOGs AND cats?

just curious!

Desuma Malevois 09-07-2004 11:50 PM

I've had both cats and dogs before - at one time I had two cats and one dog living with my family of three in a little crackerbox of a house.

Simon was our first cat. He was a black and white that we had raised from a kitten. He was very feisty and outgoing, always coming out to demand attention whenever we had guests over. He died last year at the ripe old age of 18.

Modesty was a pure white longhair cat. We took her in as a stray, and we think she must have been mistreated by her former owner because she was painfully shy - you would almost never see her, but if you left the bathroom door open while you were in the tub, she'd come and perch on the side for a visit. She died a couple of years ago at 15.

My dog Max was named after an old TV sitcom spy named Maxwell Smart, because when we first tried to paper train him he would "miss it by that much". He was a basset hound/beagle crossbreed, with a beagle body atop short little basset legs, jowls, and floppy ears that were midway between a beagle's and a basset's. He eventually went blind and also contracted cancer, he stunk, and had occasional accidents, but there was nothing like the feeling of seeing something that happy to see me when I'd come home from work!

We had to have Max put to sleep today - he had just gotten too sick with no chance of getting any better. I really miss him. Rest in peace, buddy.

I own one dog - a german shephard we've had for about 9 years - and I'm shared between two cats. We used to be so privaledged as to know more cats, but we've had to have 3 put to sleep over the past 18 months for various reasons :(

Lady Blue03 09-08-2004 06:15 AM

We have...five registered boxers, one of them an AKC (american kennel club) show champion (and she just happens to be mine :D ).
Besides them, we have another mutt dog that I don't like at all and a siamese cat of mine named Binx that I've had for about 10 years.

I love my dog, but she's just so hyper...always in your face. In that respect I like kitties better, especially the long haired ones...so soft :D

Just one question, does anyone here NOT like their pets??? Whenever anyone talks about their pets, its always "Their so cute", or "Their so smart"
Well, I like my Labrador (Ellie) but I have never known many people to dislike their animals, I suppose they would have gotten rid of them....But anyway.

Stormymystic 09-08-2004 06:33 AM

I always had at least one cat...and a dog. but funny thing is, I can not have them anymore because I am allergic to both of them now :/ and until I find some medicne that really works without knocking me out, I can not have animals again.
