Wow...umm...yes, miraculous, unless it was planted there. Simply not likely at ALL to happen...

I'm kind of happy for them, though!

Dron_Cah 09-06-2004 03:56 PM

Damn, I'm not! How bad of a driver do you have to be??

Arvon 09-06-2004 04:11 PM

Sure don't want to get out on the passengers side.

LordKathen 09-06-2004 04:13 PM

If you look at the second picture, you can see what happened. Probly drunk and swerved to the right to far.

Exactly how do you swerve over a foot tall rail?

Felix The Assassin 09-06-2004 04:37 PM

Looking at the second picture, paying attention to the foreground, one can tell the vehicle went onto the rail from the begining. Not over it, as if swerved up and onto.

The rail was short at that end...the gravel looks like it makes up for a couple of inches. Beyond that, though, I'd have to say that I have screwed up by the same margin (about a foot) while driving before, and I was not under the influence...so, basically, these people are just very lucky that their bad luck was not horribly bad!

The four wheel need a bit of work at the back and probably the alignment as well and it's good as new.

The Hierophant 09-06-2004 09:54 PM

Well, would have been an exciting way to go at least

Gangrell 09-06-2004 10:10 PM

Whatever you say :D

SecretMaster 09-07-2004 03:08 AM

You know, for those types of bridges they should make like steel 10 foot high fencing just in case. This is a classic of example for why it is necessary. Then again, the drop is one of an ordinary river crossing bridge.

Arledrian 09-07-2004 03:24 AM

I can't imagine how the car could've ended up in that position without falling into the ravine. I mean think about it, a car traveling at any speed at all would just fly right over the edge, given the momentum and such. I guess someone had a guardian angel on their steering wheel that day, just as Stormy seems to... every day.

Hivetyrant 09-07-2004 07:35 AM

Hehehe This looks like fun :D , Maybe its some new form of base jumping, sxcept with a car, but this guy chikened out at the last momment. :D
