Ok, I am getting a tattoo this week, and after (some would say stupidly ) trusting Kakero's translations, I want to know your opinions on the following three phrases -

They will be tattooed in the Chinese Language:

Ultimately, I'll (probably) choose whatever you guys vote for!

Ok:

Phrase 1 - As long as you dare to look for answers, you won't be afraid of anything.

Phrase 2 - Angels Watch Over Me

Phrase 3 - Going after a beautiful lifestyle.

So, get voting!

Angels all the way!
it sounds cool and has a good meaning, i'd get that as a tatoo, if i was going to
, but the first one is cool too :D

imo the second one is better
well, since it says next tatoo, i'm guessing it's not the first so, a question if i may?
does it hurt?

Lavindathar 08-16-2004 03:31 PM

Obviously, yes.

But it isnt an unbearable pain, myself and many others keep going back. When they tattoo over your spine it hurts, but only while the needle is in. Afterwards, its fine.

If you want one, dont be scared of the pain. Its not that bad.

Not trying to be a smartass here, but I think you shouldn't be asking for our opinions at all.
It's gonna be etched on YOUR skin forever, not on any of ours ;) so you should pick whatever resonates most deeply within the depths of your heart. Or something. ;)
Seriously, pick whichever appeals to you most, has the most meaning to you, or if nothing else, pick the one that you find most aesthetically pleasing.

Good luck!

I voted #1. More philosophical than the others. #2 doesn't do anything for me. #3 is good too; more of a skater/hippie sentiment.

Xen 08-16-2004 05:17 PM

I would go with the angles if I were you.

RoSs_bg2_rox 08-16-2004 05:22 PM

Im going for 1. I don't really know you that well. But from what I do know (your love for cars etc.) I wouldn't say the other two would really fit your image.

Plus the first one kicks ass :D

Lavindathar 08-16-2004 06:32 PM

Cheers for your answers......

All of my tattoos so far are tribal patterns, which don't have any meaning.

The one on my back is a tribal image of an angel, so the 2nd one fits in.

And these are the three I liked, they all appeal to me. Except the 3rd.

Its definately either 1 or 2. But number 1 means both arms being tattood.

And no2 doesnt really fit in with my public image, but I like it.

I like both 1 & 2, but Im still not sure which one yet.

I'm swaying towards number 2, purely because it only means one arm gets tattooed, and that leaves my other arm open for something different.

And, I really do like the words.
But no2 is a bit soppy, and no1 is a bit more dark, more like myself.

Well if it is up to 1 or 2 now, then I'd go for 2, as I don't quite get the first one. And as Mel said, it is best you choose what you want on your own. Oh and definitely do not use something like a "public" image to sway you.

Lavindathar 08-16-2004 07:30 PM

I like the meaning of the first one.....

The way I interpret it is this:

If you want to know something, but are scared of the answer, you might not ask.

If you dare to ask the question, no matter the answer, your not scared.

Hence, you'll never be scared again.

Something like that anyway.

Mr_Krift 08-16-2004 08:34 PM

What about... I like Taco bell...Just kidding! I think i would go for number 1....

LordKathen 08-17-2004 01:50 AM

#1 man! I like it alot!

p.s. Mr.Krift, Deftones rock!

Dron_Cah 08-17-2004 01:56 AM

Yeah, man, I like "Yo quiero Taco Bell!"

Har'oloth 08-17-2004 05:34 AM

write them all on rub on stickers so you can see what looks best!
or just keep it with these so you can use a different one every day!

Sodomatic Goat 08-17-2004 06:57 AM

I would go for a huge Goatlord, a Goatlord with wings and then the angels phrase above, now that would be cool :D

Lavindathar 08-17-2004 07:14 AM

Oooh, its close!

7/6/1 and I get it done today.......

I think I am gonna go with number 2 tho....

:D

Hivetyrant 08-17-2004 07:16 AM

I say go with number one, but thats just me, I have wanted a Tattoo for a while but Im not 18 yet so I cant, me and my best friend picked out a really kick ass picture of a dragon that a girl in our year drew, but my parents are really against it. They have the whole "Dont get one, you will regret it later in life..." but I dont know.
Anyway, good luck with it Lavindathar

Lady Sedai 08-17-2004 10:18 AM

I would vote for #2, but Opera doesn't like Javascript.

So though the numbers in your poll won't show it, I like #2 best, personally.

I think, as you mentioned, it would go well with the angel that's already on your back and I agree this way it leaves your other arm free for another tattoo later.

dplax 08-17-2004 11:17 AM

I voted for #2. It has a better sound to my ears.

i dont have a idea how to say it in chinese
so why not in latin?

Lavindathar 08-17-2004 01:05 PM

Right, well thanks for your help!

I took your opinions into consideration, but personally I preffered number 2 myself.

Doesnt matter now, because No.2 is no tattood on my arm!

LordKathen 08-17-2004 01:10 PM

So you going to post a pic for us? Congrats by the way. ;)

Lavindathar 08-17-2004 01:13 PM

Yeah, I'll try.

I'll have to wait for my bro to return home (tomorrow), as my digi cam is having issues. His works, but hes got it. Also, he can upload it to his webspace!

Thankyou Lord K!

LordKathen 08-17-2004 01:56 PM

Cool! Have you seen mine? They are on page 48 in Stealthy's photo album. :D

Angels would do

Lavindathar 08-17-2004 05:26 PM

I'll have a look Lord K.

I might upload all three of mine, and get em in there, as well as some recent pics of me!

Lavindathar 08-17-2004 05:31 PM

Cool LK!

They've got a good meaning behind them, except maybe The little boy giving the finger, but hes cool in his own right!

LordKathen 08-17-2004 08:49 PM

That little boy is Calvin, and the tiger is Hobbes. You ever see the "Calvin and Hobbes" comic strips? Great stuff! Obviously I like them. I was an only child like calvin, so I can relate to alot of his imagination. :D

LordKathen 08-17-2004 08:52 PM

That is "Hobbes" in my sig, BTW. And the little video is something Hobbes would do to Calvin. :D

warintag 08-17-2004 09:26 PM

hehe!
