Good news everybody! I've just reloaded my wow account. The bad news is I've reloaded it few minutes before the maintencance. Arghhh!!!!!

I've got several questions to ask. The game seems like an alien to me now. I've forgotten a lot of things.

1. How to target the enemy using the keyboard?

2. How to take screenshots with your character facing the screen?

3. What is the keyring? What's it use for?

4. What's the best place to grind/farm for gold?

5. What is world pvp?

Timber Loftis 10-03-2006 11:05 AM

1. Tab targets the next enemy in front of you. Crtl-Tab and Alt-Tab cycle forward and backward through target lists.

2. Left click on the screen and move the mouse to look around without changing direction. Right clicking and moving the mouse changes direction. crtl-prntscreen to take the screenshot.

3. You put keys on it. It's like a bag just for keys. Scarlet Key, Key to the City, Key to Scholo, Crescent Key, and a couple of others are all that's out there now. Items that get you into dungeons, like the staff of maraudon or the UBRS ring, do NOT fit on the keyring, damn them.

4. What level? Some people swear by Tyr's Hand, if you can manage elite mobs, with potential multiple mob pulls. I find the farthest east farm in WPL to be good, those undead are easy and drop descent coin, the occasional grey item worth 1.5 gold, a few greens, and major mana and health pots, as well as tons of runecloth. I farm soul shards from them prior to raids.

5. World pvp occurs in EPL and Silithus. In EPL there are 4 towers to take. The faction that has them gets a craptastic buff vs undead that does not persist if you zone into Strat or Naxx. OH, you also get cool flight paths between the towers. Take a bat ride for fun wtfbbqsauce. In Silithus you collect dust and turn it in at the faction HQ's near where you do the field commander quest. I've not done that one.

Thanks, I started to regain back some of the feeling now. Though I still couldn't perform a perfect jumpshot, pulling and kiting yet.

I remembered deadwind pass used to be a goldmine for me. So I'll be grinding there.

Anyways, I'll definitely switch to Aman'thul once that server is up. Can't wait to join up an asian base guild. The guild that I'm currently in Medivh seems to be dead.

One more questions, how come my friend list is completely empty? I remembered I put more than 10 people there.

World PvP is a little bit of a failure atm. Few do it and Blizz say theyre working to revamp it.

Your friends list is empty cuz a number of servers lost them when they switched hardware. These servers had ample notice (I think guilds were lost too) and were asked to save the info. for when the switch was made. Since you had deactivated there's no helping it unfortunately. Those affected got in-game mails with copies of their lists but by now yours would have expired. Fresh start eh?

Heh. IMO I'd say BGs are a bit of fail too since they make no attempt to sort by gear quality. I'd like BGs where I don't have to fight super-twinks who have lvl 60 farming alts plzkthnx.

armageddon272 10-03-2006 02:46 PM

In regards to question 4: Don't.

I make lots of gold simply playing the auction house and checking the trade channel for good deals. Specifically, look for stuff that has no sell price to vendors, that way you can put them back up for the full 24 hours without any deposit, so you don't have to worry about conserving money to afford AH costs of putting goods up. From 100g, in about 1 week I am almost half way to my epic mount and have not done an ounce of farming.

Also, if playing the AH isn't your fancy, try farming winterspring elites for the Eye of Shdaow. I did this a few times on my mage and made lots o gold.

Well BG's are a success in the sense that tons more people play them that didn't. At first they were a failure. Can you believe that? They actually failed the month after they came out. But then Blizz made changes such as battlemasters so people wouldn't have to travel to Ashenvale/Barrens to join, changes to the honor system etc. and they became a success. I agree with you about thwe twinks but they are fixing that soon too. You will gain a small amount of xp when you finish a battleground. This way no twink will be able to stay in the bracket forever. It won't fix it per se but it will make them think twice before blowing 100's of gold on a char that will soon outlevel the enchants. Also they are redoing he matching system next patch so premades won't go up against PUG's anymore - thank god.

Timber Loftis 10-03-2006 03:58 PM

I love BG's. Rank 7 last week, hoping to find out I'm rank 8 after I get home. Probably not, because I was shy on kills this week. Made exalted with AV w00t.

Thank the true gods. No more green weapons on dirty NE rogues. No more horrid crusader procs. Where was this posted? I believe you, just when it was asked a few months back Blizz politely said "No" and wanted to keep them the way they were.

Oh, I don't mind them. Just wish there was some consideration for the non-twinks :<

Kakero 10-04-2006 12:37 PM

I have some more question. I've created a rogue in Aman'thul.

1. Which is better for a rogue, sword or dagger?

2. Suppose I choose sword, what spec should I choose? Guides out there seems outdated already.

3. How do I handle 2 or more monster?

SpiritWarrior 10-04-2006 01:57 PM

Swords for grinding since base damage of core abilities is taken from your weap. Daggers are fun but require more precision and time.

Go combat spec usually with swords.

Sap 1 mob and fight the other. Or use evasion and fight both.

Timber Loftis 10-04-2006 03:15 PM

How do you handle 2 or more monsters? Sap, gouge, blind, kidney shot, kick. Stabble stabble.

Regarding PVP and enchants:

1. The NEW enchants will require level 35. That is the only level requirement. YOu can still put crusader on a twink. They cannot change this without (a) ripping thousands of gold of enchants off of existing items or (b) grandfathering in all the existing twinks. Neither is acceptable.

Besides the 20-29 WSG twink thing is a professional sport all its own.

2. BGs will now sort players by gear, including the enchants on the gear. So you will not be likely to be hitting a wall of twinks anymore.

Neo the Warrior Cat 10-04-2006 03:40 PM

#2 sounds nice and is pretty much what I'd like to see, sort by level bracket, then sub-sort by gear.

Let the twinks have their little wars with each other. Hell, they might even die out if it turns out the only thing they have to fight is each other.

Hivetyrant 10-04-2006 05:44 PM

Post from a Mod:
Quote:

We are planning on placing restrictions on future enchanting recipes; however placing those restrictions on current enchantments would mean either grandfathering them in (making the current players who have them god-like for any future players) or removing them from everyone's weapons. I can already anticipate the shrill screams to do the latter, but in thise case it's already something that is going to be dealt with in the battleground matching system. We would also be costing many characters hundreds if not thousands of gold each, and such a removal would probably require all realms to be brought down for at least a day. Neither of which we are really excited about doing, especially with a way to parse players out by what enchantments they may or may not have into various battleground games coming soon.
And I am looking for the other which explained how they are going to slowly remove the high lvl enchants off lower lvl characters

If they make the matching system sort by gear as well as level bracket, they are effectively making it not matter as far as BGs go. As far as the rest of the world... meh. Ganking would be about the only option they could go for while remaining low level. They won't have much to do but fight other twinks in BGs or go level.

Which beaststalker set can be bought in AH? I saw the belt and the wrist(?) on sale in AH.

Timber Loftis 10-05-2006 03:00 PM

Out of Tier 0, 3 are BOE: gloves, belt, bracer.

Out of Tier 1, 2 are: Belt, Bracer

Out of Tier 2 and 3, none are.

Out of Zandalar/ZG and Cenarion/AQ20 and Nozdromo/AQ40, none are BOE and all are rep-based.

http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/items/armorsets/
This page will let you look at the Tier armor sets. Only pieces labelled Bind on Equip can be purchased off the AH.

Got a new question, this one is about the Darkmoon Faire. I'm quite confuse when it'll end.

(Elwynn Forest) October 9th - 16th, 2006

Does this mean it'll end on 12 am October 17th (On 16th the fair is still there ) .

OR

When the time strikes 12am October 16th. Poof! The entire fair is gone?

Timber Loftis 10-12-2006 12:02 PM

I thought the fair despawned with WoW server resets. Those happen like 5-6 a.m. EST on Tuesdays.

Neo the Warrior Cat 10-13-2006 01:18 AM

Hehe. My first Darkmoon Faire.

I love Steam Tonks :3

Timber Loftis 10-13-2006 11:03 AM

When I found myself going and looking at grinding thousands of bat eyes for a necklace at the fair was about the same time I said "Wait a minute, this isn't the way to do this."

I spent like 3 weeks at 60, between 56 and 60 I got all the blue gear from the "60 Blues" dungeons, and then hopped right into a raiding guild. 2-3 weeks of ZG, which they'd been doing for months, and went for their first time into MC. So, with the perfect confluence of my raid progression with this particular guild's, I wasted ZERO time grinding crappity crap like Darkmoon Faire. I didn't grind Timbermaw rep, I didn't grind Thorium Brotherhood, etc.

Actually, from the time I could do SM, this particular character spent lots more time in groups and instancing than solo grinding.

And that had a side benefit in that I made some good friends on my server before my levelling guild assploderized and went to several different raiding guilds.

BTW, guilds are starting to implode or assplode on my server. The people doing AQ and Naxx are starting to realize that spending 60 gold a week raiding for crap that's going to be trash inside of 3 or 4 levels are starting to just slack off and quit it. They realize that the first 25 people who make it to 70 = the new raid guild on the server.

Kakero 10-13-2006 02:17 PM

Doesn't matter, if an item can be gain by grinding. You can be sure that I'll grind for it. Currently I only need 180 more tickets to reach the 1200 goal.

After this, I need to grind 900 bone fragments and 900 dark iron scraps and turn them into insignia for one of the prizes.

Luckily, my hunter always owns the place where I want to grind. No one can match my speed, all the monsters are mine! haha! :D
