Just over a week ago I had to have FOUR cavities drilled at the same time. :( Two without any painkillers or anaesthetics either. I never used to have any cavities, I don't understand. :( I'm laying off the sugar now...

Safe, yes. Pleasant, no.

Speaking as a veteran of 3.5 years of braces (thankfully well over; orthodontist appointments every month!), just shut your eyes and try to think about something else.

Jorath Calar 06-21-2004 02:39 PM

gah... this will go down in history as the most misunderstood thread ever...
I had a streak of 9 years in a row without a single cavity, that was when the dentist was fully covered by our healthcare system. When we had to pay the dentist partly ourselves, suddenly the cavities came mysteriously out of nowhere. The last time i went, the dentist filled two cavities, and told me in advance that he saw two other spots that would need drilling by the time i come back in 6 months. In other words... make sure you bring plenty of money.

That's when i told him literally: Man, krijg de takke (his name is Takken :D ), i'll only be back here when i actually have a toothache.

I only ever had one filling in my lifetime and had to get it drilled. But then the tooth that had it fell out...so now I have no fillings or cavaties :D :D

you're not the only one.

Dron_Cah 06-22-2004 02:28 PM

Add me to the list of confused. Are you drilling your own teeth?

Xen 06-22-2004 02:36 PM

Me to. Anyway even if I don` really know what the subject is, I`ll say that it`s safe. :D

Jorath Calar 06-22-2004 03:32 PM

Hmmm, guess no one has seen The Marathon Man then... Except Sagramore

The rest of you go see it, one of the most chilling movies ever

Aerich 06-22-2004 04:08 PM

Ah, the reference is explained. As if the world didn't have enough dentist-related neuroses...

I know that it is definitely NOT safe to go camping.

I am on a 29 year streak without any cavities.

My secret! A single glass of Milk once every two days!! :D . Well it could be!!!

Yes it is safe to go camping as long as you don't go in the water, forest, or outhouse.

For that reason I do my best camping in an air-conditioned hotel room. Backwoods, begone!

That's odd, in my case it was because i brushed on a regular basis. :D

Dron_Cah 06-22-2004 05:03 PM

Lol, Johnny! That's how I've done it, too. But then, I do eat cereal in the morning, so that could also the reason...

EDIT: Oh, man, i just read that little snippet about the torture scene.... *shivers* Never going to the dentist again! (clamps mouth shut)
