Gnarf 06-05-2004 06:24 AM

???

Who we talking 'bout, and how the hell can one burn while drowning?

Barry the Sprout 06-05-2004 07:36 AM

Just for anyone who cares Kitten used to be in the same left wing group as me - the Alliance for Workers Liberty. We're all quite mad you know...

But if thats the case then I strongly doubt she's really an anarchist. If she's in any way involved with us then shes a Trot, and from what I hear until quite recently she used to have a sub to our paper and help leaflet events with us.

Anyway, I haven't been following Big Brother, what did she do?

Son of Osiris 06-05-2004 08:09 AM

Drowning Kittens is animal cruelty at it's worse. Anyone who commits such an atrocity should be locked up until hell freezes over!

I would hzard a guess you decided to respond to the thread title rather than doing something as oddly opportune as reading the actual thread - am I correct?

My knowledge of the subject coming in was as lacking as yours, but it became evident that Kitten is just the sort of commo pinko tree hugging troublemaker that (knowing your politics) you yourself would love to see conveniently disposed of. If that didn't become clear during the reading of the thread then I am afraid you have become the victim of the thread's ethnocentricity.

Vaskez 06-05-2004 09:06 AM

Well-put Davvy old boy. Coming into the thread I was pretty clueless too.... Mr. Jammy Donut here loves to wallow in his feeling of superiority at knowing worthless stuff that no one cares about :D but anyway from what Barry said, Kitten was in the alliance for workers' liberty and is now on Big Brother? Alliance for Workers' Liberty??? Liberty from what? Being paid? Having to work?

White Phosphorous (sp?) burns underwater. So you can drown and burn a person at the same time. :D

I honestly have no idea who you are talking about (I'm in the U.S., so from what I am gathering you are talking about a Big Brother "houseguest" on your version of the show). I just saw kittens and drowning and thought I would take a look... ;)

But seriously, what did this person do that was so "heinous" that deserves drowning?

</font>
Have you seen that haircut? That in stself is grounds enough for eviction ;)

Stratos 06-05-2004 11:24 AM

Is this the Kitten you're talking about?

http://www.bigbrotherwebsite.net/hea...tenevicted.jpg

Jaradu 06-05-2004 11:36 AM

Yes... that is her. The plan is all in place. Everything is perfect. No longer shall she defy laws. No longer shall she rebel. The day of justice is at hand...

Mwa ha ha...

GET HER!

Timber Loftis 06-05-2004 11:59 AM

Lest you think it's easy -- have you ever really tried to drown a cat, of any size? It's quite a bit more difficult than you may think.

And, yeah, I responded to the title too. At least I knew enough about the title to comment on it, the real topic is... erm... foreign to me. What'd this chick do that was so horrible? Other than pander herself on reality TV, of course.

Yeah, when I was *really* young, I tried to find out what my cat would do if I tried to.. dip her into the water for a moment. My cat, having a greater IQ than mine, as soon as she found out what's going on, tried to do anything possible to not touch the water.

Only half of her tail got wet while my hands were bleeding from the scratches she made. It's amazing what a small kitten can do in a tough situation. Needless to say, I learnt my lesson. ;)

..And I still don't know who you people are talking about.

Ironbar 06-05-2004 02:22 PM

Can the mod's change the title as i find it offensive.

Gnarf 06-05-2004 02:44 PM

Sure you can't just, deal with it?

Ironbar 06-05-2004 03:02 PM

I am over it know.

Gnarf 06-05-2004 04:32 PM

Hooray.

Kaltia 06-05-2004 05:15 PM

Big Brother? Good lord, what series number is this one?

I threw my cat over the banister once, but he landed on his feet and STILL DID NOT SHUT UP DAMN SIAMESE ARGHARGHARGH.

Jaradu 06-05-2004 05:17 PM

Lmao! Cats can be very persistent :D

And don't worry, only one more BB to go after this one.... which makes 6

You still haven't explained what she has done (other than the offensive haircut and relatively homely appearance ;) ). Did she try to kill someone or something like that (they actually had an experience similar to that on the American version of the show)?

If it is just based on appearance, I need to introduce you to the American Big Brother 3. On there was a fat, ugly, middle aged school teacher named Gerry. Gerry would walk around a lot without his shirt on, and it was not a pretty sight. He would also go to the bathroom, not wash his hands, then prepare dinner for the house. He didn't win, but unless this Kitty has done worse than that I really can't see the complaints.

Then again, I haven't seen your version of the show, so maybe I am being naive. :D

Liberty from the yoke of capitalist oppression. Its a Communist thing.

So technically yes, liberty from being paid and liberty from having to work. But of course, theres a bit more to it than that... ;)

Vaskez 06-06-2004 09:35 AM

Don't give me your Communist thing Barry. I certainly hope you know what you're doing if you've got communist ideals. It's been tried and it doesn't work. Remember I was born into Communism. Try and give everyone the same wage and everyone gets work. Sounds good but what happens is people sit around all day drinking coffee and don't work and still get paid. There's no motivation to work or work hard. The economy goes bust. With capitalism, the motivation is there to work for yourself and it works overall.

I could go on about the failures of Communism but bleh...

why do you want liberty from having to work anyway? True, socialist systems provide more support to those less able to work etc. but then you can easily fall into what I described above. All motivation to do well, all ingenuity etc. is gone :( How else did all the Communist states end up so much poorer than the west?

Barry the Sprout 06-06-2004 10:51 AM

Whilst I would love to this is hardly the time or place for me to disabuse you of these foolish notions...

OT. It's actually easy to drown a number of kittens by putting them in a sack first. My Grandmother did it on many occasions!

Donut 06-06-2004 07:17 PM

Kitten was just obnoxious (obviously not as serious as being fat and not wearing a shirt). She was the "Rebel without a clue", the only BB housemate ever to get booed as they entered the house.

She railed against the establishment, she ficked the finger at the Queen and she was particulary vehement against the press.

A true rebel, a working man's hero! A class warrior.

How shocked I was when I saw that she had taken money from the News of the World" for a "sexy" photoshoot two days after her eviction.

Donut 06-06-2004 07:18 PM

Now don't get me started on that Geordie slapper Michelle!!

Hahahah! Foolish notions....yes I am sure you know so much with your oh-so-wise head of twenty-something years. I'll take what I've been told by my grandmothers and others who've lived through 50 years of communism more seriously I think.

Normally i woulden't mind this but this dosen't seem like that kind of a forum.

I will say this however, just because you are left wing, or pro comunism for that matter, dosen't mean you aprove of the different "comunist" dictatorships (USSR, kambodja, north korea etc) that we have seen over the years. In my opinion it's not even viable to use these as examples.

Vaskez 06-06-2004 08:11 PM

I was't talking about those, I was talking about Hungary. Anyway, like I said, I agree that communism looks good on paper but it simply doesnt work because, well because we're human.

bjorn 06-07-2004 06:07 AM

If i'm not mistaken hungary was once part of USSR (EDIT: maybe I souldent have said that? didden't mean to offend)? Though history is not my strongest subject.

But I agree, that dosen't matter. I don't however agree that "comunistic" dictatorships faliures can be solely explaned by the fact that were human.

money and materialistic rewards are not the only way to motivate people. But you have to have a good gouverment and stable country to do so, atleast on a national level.

That being said, I'm not pro comunism, I do however think that many countries/populations would do alot better if they were a bit more to the left.

Am I the only one who thinks that, while Kitten was quite plainly a bit bonkers, she at least made BB worth watching if just to see what would happen next.

I'm really not interested in watching it just to see if I can catch a glimpse of Stuart and Michelle going at it

Actually for those who don't know Hungary was just occupied by soviet forces for just a bit more than 50 years. And they decided everything in the country's politics. So Hungary did not want communism, we just got unlucky that it was the russians who "liberated" us from the nazis.

They always seem to have one really nasty one on there. But the all time winner for me was Will the season before. He pretty much told them right out "I'm going to stab you in the back right now" and then they would be surprised when he did it. Everyone started out hating Will, then by the end he was the most popular one out of everyone, mostly because he was straight honest about not caring about anyone but himself and the other houseguests were dumb enough to trust him over and over again.

bjorn 06-07-2004 07:49 AM

yes...

no country nor population wants to be occupied, no matter which gouvermental system you force upon someone its never gonna work. Which is why i don't feel its entierly valid as an example of comunism.
