Who is better to help? The king or the rebels? Not morally, i want a BIG reward.Who gives it?

Wilbur 08-03-2002 12:17 PM

For a powergamer you should help the Rebel and then betray him.

Illumina Drathiran'ar 08-03-2002 03:10 PM

::nod nod:: Help the Rebel Prince, then take your reward from the treasury, then take one last look at the Temple of Sekolah for any scrolls or whatever you might need, then kill all the fish people and loot their twitching corpses! Bwahahahaha!

Arwyn the Betrayer 08-03-2002 04:50 PM

Sounds like big, chaotic evil fun. :D

Andrew Mcveigh 08-03-2002 05:05 PM

you guys just saying that or is it actually a good idea? cause i just arrived at the fish city...

SixOfSpades 08-03-2002 06:01 PM

Ah, just kill 'em all. They're all fish, anyway......where's my butter & corn on the cob?

Illumina Drathiran'ar 08-03-2002 06:24 PM

The person who asked wanted the most loot. Though for the moral high ground, help the rebels and just pickpocket them.

Dundee Slaytern 08-03-2002 09:58 PM

One thing has been forgotten.

If you are a Monk, help the King and kill off the Prince. The King will then reward you with the Gauntlets of Crushing, the best gloves for a Monk in the game. You cannot pickpocket it off the King, or loot it from him, so helping him is the only way. After you get your reward, kill off the King and any other remaining Sahuagin.

You consider theft to be the "moral high ground"?

Dundee Slaytern 08-03-2002 10:32 PM

Well... it is one step away from blatant murder. ;)

Illumina Drathiran'ar 08-03-2002 10:53 PM

As a good party, I'd help the rebels and leave. As a neutral party, you can justify theft and even slaughter! They're evil fishpeople who kill and eat surfacers, so you're doing the world a favor by filleting them and dipping them in tasty breadcrumbs!

Good point...

This last time through the game I had a party with reputation 20 and I butchered them all on sight. I didn't mean it, but there was absolutely no drawback for my actions and none of my characters complained. Party was Aerie, Minsc, Nalia, Jahiera, Imoen. I guess if your victims really ARE evil then it doesn't matter, much like Orcs and Trolls.

Rimjaw 08-04-2002 12:17 AM

Being the good-guy type I aided the prince and then killed all of them (wait a minute, that wasn't very good at all, oh well no looking back). Be sure to grab the Impaler Spear (one of the best in the game).

Sure it matters. Orcs and trolls are one thing, because they're singleminded in their evil and have little sentinent thought. Sahuagin are a bit more civilized.. It's evil to kill without provocation, let's leave it at that.

Raistlin the Great 08-04-2002 03:15 AM

who cares just kill them all as long as ur rep doesnt go down...its best to get all the items u can

Indemaijinj 08-05-2002 11:38 AM

They're more beautiful than any of the surface races.

Should you deny beauty it's right to shine?

Sazerac 08-05-2002 12:15 PM

Heh, even the oh-so-bored Spectator complains about their stench. "Beautiful" isn't a word I'd use to describe the Sauhagin, though! ;)

Gotta love the Spectator.. He's gotta be one of my favorite encounters in the entire series.
