Heya, my sister showed me a nice AD&D video. It's about 5 people who decide play a game of AD&D. The world shifts between reality and the AD&D world, which makes it kind of cool.

It's quite funny and worth it.

Click on the '128MB wmv' link there. That'll start the download.

I'd like to know if any of you English speaking AD&Ders really use the phrase 'booyah?

I have to admit that for me, the most interesting place in the movie was in the very beginning, when they were talking "Dude, that's gotta be the best Anime I've ever seen!; That guy has to have a Dexterity of 20 or something!" I'm still thinking about what Anime they were talking about. :D

Harkoliar 04-23-2004 11:00 AM

umm.. link not working..

philip 04-23-2004 11:13 AM

Works for me. Did you open the site and clicked the 128 mb wmv link in there? I'm at 45% now but at least the server is better than most of the servers I have to download from most of the time

Harkoliar 04-23-2004 11:21 AM

hmm. strange.. i still cant connect to the webpage.. can you guys post a direct link here pls?

philip 04-23-2004 12:13 PM

Pretty funny stuff in there. But maybe it was a little too long. I like that 'special effects' like the guy that get slashed in half and the arrow going after that bandit :D

Jaradu 04-23-2004 03:52 PM

Wow that movie is awesome! And totally free! I love it - woohoo! And is it just me or did one of those guys look like Sazerac ?

Gnarf 04-23-2004 04:45 PM

Downloading now. Think I've heard of it... it's this, isn't it?

Saw it and it's awesome and has some funny humor. I was laughing so hard when Mark went into that rage.

Ziroc 04-24-2004 02:01 AM

Totally awesome! The camera work and production was really great too. Some professional stuff!!

You know, this could SO easily be a half hour show on TV. I think it would REALLY be popular! Each week, they have an adventure, or continue one--they would have to change the ending of this episode though ;) . I am going to send a packet with this video to FOX, NBC and Tech TV. I think it could seriously be a big hit!

Harkoliar 04-24-2004 04:11 AM

haha i just watched earlier.. its really funny thanks for linking it guys..

Yes, it's like a civilised version of the primitive monkey genital-thrust.

Hehe, I knew that you guys would like it! :D

That'd be really cool, Z! That might work, if the creators are up for it.

Jaradu, I have to admit, I was thinking about the same thing when I saw it. :D

Hierophant, what a pecuilar way of bringing that to the 21. century. :D

The Hierophant 04-24-2004 06:08 AM

Holy shit! THAT's what playing the real Dungeons and Dragons is like? I've never played it before, only the Baldur's gate games.
Woah....just, woah....

Grojlach 04-24-2004 06:27 AM

Seen this one before, definitely good for a few laughs.

I do think it would go stale very soon, though... There's only that much you can do to keep it interesting for non-insiders.

Harkoliar 04-24-2004 09:36 AM

i was just thiking that there are so little people that enjoy d&d and amatuer cast with elves and such.. to get a big audience of this one.

no dwarfs??

edit: dicing and dicing hours to end.. with numerous calculations :D .

What a great movie and a great way to spend 3/4 hour on saturday morning. It reminded me of the old days of drinking beer and playing D&D in My Buddys Garage in California. Thanks for the link great show.

lol, what we're you expecting, then?

Aah, it's been so long since I played. On one time, we played it from like 11 PM to 6 AM straight. ;)

/)eathKiller 04-24-2004 10:57 AM

Anime with a dexterity of 20? Well that could be just about anything Perhaps Berserk or maybe even Lodoss War, though I don't recall an archer in Lodoss War, Ghim the drawf does strike a dragon square between the eyes after THROWING his great axe tho...

Dreamer128 04-24-2004 11:15 AM

ROFL. Great movie.
"Dude, you're going to backstab him with a Ballista?"
"Yeah"
"It's a ***** siege weapon!"
"I know"
"There has got to be a rule against this"

By the way, you can find more of their work at their website.

After Lady Zeke showed us that hilarious 8-Bit D&D session I felt we can all get more into the D&D spirit if I bumped this old thread.

Well, it's one session of AD&D. This isn't a documentary or anything and it's pretty damn funny! :D

If you have played Pencil & Paper before, watch this! You're sure to find at least some similarities! :D
