Yes! Views on BALDNESS!! More specifically, MALE baldness. The way I see it can be put into a simple formula:
Bald = Free Yes. When you go bald, you don't have to spend money on haircuts, shampoo, or even brush it out of your eyes. So what if people make fun of you? Those poor suckers are blowing their money on haircuts and shampoo while your putting your former haircut money in a big-ass mayo jar and burying it in the back yard! What do you people think of baldness? |
Baldness (meaning totally shaved head) looks fine on certain guys, depending on their face and head shape really LOL... not a fan though of bald females (sinead O'conner).
So are you contemplating skin headin it Whackmiester? |
Baldness? Hmm, well, not really at that point myself, but when the frontline decides to flee to the back of the ranks, I think I'll just shave my head

Things I know in my family:
1. No addiction shall be left untried 2. Grandma really held things together 3. Hair is never owned, only rented I still have a good head of hair, with some beginning signs of male pattern. I don't know if I've completely come to grips with the fact that I'll lose it eventually, but I have noted a couple of things: 1. Comb-overs fool no one at all. 2. Toupees fool some people for ever, others for a while It's amazing how many toupees I've noticed recently with coworkers. I saw one guy for two days, and I think he had his toupee on backwards for both of 'em! The next week he had it straightened out, but for a while, it was hilarious! I'll go with what the good lord gave me for as long as it's mine. |
I agree that it's much easier with a shaved head, but it's not really comfortable in wintertime.
|
I will never go bald due to my fantastic genes, bwahahahaha! Alright, I'm gonna go lay down now.
|
Nothing wrong with being bald. You just might need a thicker cap in the winter. Other than that not an issue. Me bald? It's not going to happen anytime soon.
|
Some guys can pull it off, some guys can't. Agree with LadyZ :D

I dunno, I think Kane from Command and Conquer looks pretty cool with the bald head and goatee. Also, all neo-nazism aside, I think Edward Norton looks cool as a skinhead in American History X too.
|
Sometimes it's a problem if you have a weird shaped head - often you can't tell this until you shave it all off ;) . Plus there is still upkeep, you have to reshave every once in a while, probably even more often than going to the hairdresser if you have normal hair? And guys that go bald naturally still have hair to wash and get cut, just not on top :D
|
Some people look good on bald while some don't. overhere when people see you are bald they always think that you are a monk or someone that just come out of jail.
|
Come on guys I think he's talking about guys who are getting naturally bald! hehehe :D
As for myself... I like being bald, but then most people like me with hair so there... and it's so freaking hot here... :( |

LOL Donut
Speaking as a growing (!) expert on the subject. Keeping your head shaved takes more work than you think. At the moment ive a sharp #1 cut but my wife is trying to get me go a complete bald shave ---> |
Heaven forbid that I should ever go bald (knock on wood). I shaved my head once just to see what it looked like. It really gives you a good idea of just how big your ears really are ;) And it also illuminated the fact that when my head is shaved, it looks like I have an extension in the back; an Alien-esque protrusion of the rear of my skull. It's not pretty. My boss asked me to wear a hat, because he said I looked like a serial killer, and they just didn't need that kind of publicity. =]
|
LOL ryaldin, serial killer eh?
I have my dad's genes (surprisingly) and he's over 50 and has a full head of hair, so here's hoping. I have pretty thick and dense hair though so I'm hoping I'll never go completely bald, just like Aledrain. |
Ya gotta look on Mom's side for the baldness tendencies. Dads don't carry as much weight.
For me, my maternal grandfather died with a monk's fringe. My two maternal uncles have been thinning and balding away for years (but at least it started late). On my paternal side, my grandfather is the only hope. He's got more hair than any of his sons (five of them, of whom only one still has a full head of hair). Serial killer, eh, Ryaldin? Nice imagery... |
Actually noone goes bald. The facts are that the skin on the head gets harder and the hair can't get through. So... the hair turns inwards and comes out the ears and nose.

Some Baldness can only be seen from above.
I'm over 50 and still have all my hair and most of my friends say it's not fare because women all think I'm around 36-37. It pisses off my younger bald friends because the girls all say they look older than me. |
I lost my hair when I was 19. How fair is that But now 5 years later I don´t think I would raise it back ewen if it was possible.
And so what if it looks ridicilous? I mean how often do you see your own head anyway :D |
19??? man... that's sad. But then you have a good point... :D

Baldness, it is said, is proof of high testosterone levels.
The more masculine hormones in your blood, the sooner you grow bald and become truely irresistable to those of the opposite gender. I myself am currently cultivating hairy legs taking the alternative route to manliness and freedom and as such have not been able to confirm this, but it would appear to be naught but an advantage. As long as you don't grow too bald and irresistable of course, one might get hurt then. |
Will I ever wish to be bald? Not a chance in hell. Really, if it doesn't get too freaky, the more hair I have, the happier I am.
Oh, I'd love to have long(5-20 cm) straight hair.. Funny that when I grow my hair a bit longer, I get an afro. :D Some of my mates laugh at the thought of growing an afro, and then say "Seriously dude, do it." Maybe I'll try something.. :D |
Hey Afro rocks... hehehe :D
Worth a try... then stick a comb in your hair... ;) |
Personally I like long hair on a guy (GOOD long hair, mind, not biker type or 70s glamrock hair-dos or mullets or stuff like that ) and there's nothing worse-looking than a long-haired bloke going bald on top. :D
Like others said, a bald head only looks good on some guys (or, if you like, only a few guys can pull a bald head off ) because you need to have the right shape head with no weird protrusions, huge ears, flaky scalps etc. *shudder* And it's sometimes too reminiscent of either neonazis, "gabbers", chemotherapy patients etc for my liking. Usually leaving a bit of stubble looks better than going totally smooth and shiny, LOL. [ 04-21-2004, 02:26 PM: Message edited by: Melusine ] |
