MAN BITES LOBSTER

SUSHI SAMBA on Park Ave. South in midtown is the latest New York restaurant to import the practice of eating live lobster. Called "Whole Live Lobster Sashimi," the dish involves bringing the lobster to the table, splitting it down the middle and eating it as it dies, a process that lasts about 20 minutes.

Local animal rights activists are calling for a ban on the practice, but we have a better idea: Take off the rubber bands and make it a fair fight. If the customer can get the limbs off the critter without losing a finger, then it's Whole Live Lobster Sashimi on the house. If he can't, then the lobster gets to die humanely the old-fashioned way—stuffed into a boiling pot of water.

Foul. I cant even eat dead lobster without throwing up. (And for the dutchies: I thought man bijt hond was bad enough :D [img]tongue.gif[/img] ).

I do like lobster though, but I like it just like I like my beef, fish, poultry, and other seafoods..... dead and cooked.

Ugh... eating live lobster like that... not sure if it's healthy for starters. I like sushi and sashimi, but I don't know if I'd try that one. Nasty.

Ehh Umm... no.

Lobster is definately meant to be cooked first. If eaten at all. I've been kind of iffy about eating certain seafoods lately, ever since someone referred to them as the cockroaches of the sea.

Bleeuuchhh!!! Does that mean that blood was still pulsing around the body while he ate it? Must've ben messy! LOL, Illumina!

Probably Dave Barry. He has long maintained that lobsters are related to cockroaches, and he was incredibly thrilled when recent research proved him right.

Mmmm....cockroaches! Haven't tried them yet, but if they taste like Lobster, I'm game!! :D

But only if they are as big as a lobster :D .

Umm that is another one of those spoof sites right? Nobody really believes that, right?

I can tell you why the ancient Hebrews were told not to eat certain foods. It wasn't so much as the food being unclean. That's the reason they used before there was knowledge of nutritional values. For the most parts the foods they were instructed not to eat were in fact unhealthy for them. Pork is fattening IIRC, and shellfish are essentially the bugs of the ocean they eat what the fish drop (and I don't mean the food that didn't make it past their mouths).
