-Where did hamsters live before we put them in cages as a pet?
-Why are things typed up but written down?
-Why does caregiver and caretaker mean the same thing?
-What does OK actually mean?
-Is light still faster than sound when it's going through your TV, and if so, when you get a live broadcast from China or something shouldn't all the sounds come after the actions?
-Why do we say "bye bye" but not "hi hi"?
-Can blind people be dyslexic when they read Braille?
-Why do we feel blue? and what color does a smurf feel when they are down?

Makes you wonder, doesn't it? ;)

Your TV receives both at the same time coverted into electronic signals and then transforms them and broadcasts them towards you at the same time, it is just our hulan mind which cannot make the difference on such a small distance. But for example when you see an explosion in the distance you might even see it several seconds before its sound reaches you. So theoretically all sounds come after the actions.

- Same place as rats and mice I guess
- Cos you are looking up at a screen but down at paper duh :D
- Err, they don't where I live (UK)!
- Can't remember what OK means but used to know!
- Well actually, the TV camera and microphone are usually both so close to the action that there is not a noticable difference between the time you see the action and hear the sound. Then of course once the sound and video are encoded, they are BOTH sent at the speed of light to your TV.
- Cos the latter sounds stupid
- Probably, because dsylexia is to do with your brain not eyes, well most forms I think
- That's just a stupid english experession, you won't find any intelligent language using colours to describe feelings. Smurfs just feel even more "blue"

In the forest, they used to be little woodlen creatures, like
-Why are things typed up but written down?
Because when you write you are writing with the lead facing down, and when you type it is UP on the monitor.
-Why does caregiver and caretaker mean the same thing?
Caregiver? :S
-What does OK actually mean?
Ocean Karate
-Is light still faster than sound when it's going through your TV, and if so, when you get a live broadcast from China or something shouldn't all the sounds come after the actions?
I have not willed that action so no.
-Why do we say "bye bye" but not "hi hi"?
Some people do say "hello hello"
-Can blind people be dyslexic when they read Braille?
Go ask a blind person and find out.
-Why do we feel blue? and what color does a smurf feel when they are down?
Because blue represents depression and sorrow, whenever you're watching a cartoon and they're sad or something or it's raining you never see a red or orange background do you?

OK - from WWI, the US stamped OK tabs on equipment to mean All Clear.

Dreamer128 02-06-2004 07:01 PM

Okey I got more...

How is "Do not Touch" Written in braille... and does it do any good?

What happens when only a piece of hell breaks loose?

Bahamut 02-07-2004 04:43 AM

OK- OLL KLEAR??? Man...

Ohh... I have another!

"If people say someone is talking behind your back, does that mean they are talking in front of you?"

I hope you guys got the logic...

Dreamer128 02-07-2004 07:54 PM

Heh.. most people that talk behind my back, are talking behind the back of my back (my front).

Another question; does anyone know what the 'K' in K-mart stands for?

john 02-07-2004 08:02 PM

Krap ?

Mouse 02-07-2004 08:18 PM

And why do we say an alarm/siren goes off when it actually goes on??

That's Kresge, isn't it?

Bozos of Bones 02-07-2004 09:21 PM

Convenient? If yes, then it's just another example of C pretending to be K.

OK has something to do with Martin Van Buren, if my AP US History book has any validity, which I wouldn't be surpirsed if it didn't...

What does OK actually mean?
It started in the 1830's as a joke (by a Boston newspaper) abreviation for "All Correct", the joke being that neither O nor K are correct. In 1840 it was picked up by Martin Van Buren for his presidental campaign (Van Buren's nickname being "Old Kinderhook").
