I don't know bout you guys, but i love the FF sagas. I don't know why, but they just are awesome. My favorite pc game is BG2!!!!!! Always! what are you favorites??

I'd have to say Elite, a very good game and never the same twice, I just hope they bring out a new one.

Star Wars: Knights of The Old Republic (KoTOR). I have not been replaying games that many times before.

Hmm I'd have to say the Heroes of Might and Magic games are the best followed by, in no particular order, the Civilisation games and the Warcraft games and the Red Alert games and the Baldur's Gate games.

Well, I enjoyed the red Alert series - some brilliant acting and an engrossing storyline - but I westwood really flopped when they made Generals. :( I've never seen such a lousy game. no acting, no soryline (not one that's decent anyway) and a huge requirement...
But then KOTOR and Prince of Persia rock, as well as the FF series...so many to pick from...

My favorite games are FF3,FF Tactics, StarCraft, Hero's of Might and Magic Series, lots of people would disagree on this one Diablo2 but i like it so thats all that matters, then theres Metal Gear solid 1 and 2, Devil May Cry only the first one, Baulders Gate 1 and 2, Icewind dale 1 and 2 i really really loved Icewind dale 2. Then we got Doom 1 and 2, Quake3. Ok I named to many already so i'm gonna stop there.

Anyway, Red Alert games were at the bottom of my best list anyway - they are good cos we've had a few 6-player games over a LAN and they were a laugh.

Blizzard games, civilization 1 (much better feeling IMO than the sequels), mordor: depths of dejenol (best char development system I've seen so far).

My personal favorites: BG2, PS:T, BG1, Bard's Tale series, Shadowrun (Sega Genesis version), original Legend of Zelda, Space Invaders, Adventure, and Pirates.

BG1 & IWD1 (the sequels were good but these were the pioneers), Thief 1 & 2, Riven and Neverwinter Nights (MPer a must though).

Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64)

It didn't get a perfect 10 on IGN for nothing. ;)

Well i myself hav many favourites to name a few the FF series on PS2, Devil May Cry 1 and 2, the gidd old Tribes on pc, Diablo 1 and 2, the Warcraft series, Starcraft, Need for Speed Underground,thats an awsome game, and many others.
there really is no best game because everyone has their own opinions on what a good game is.

Its so hard to pick, but how about a by-genre breakdown ... then you have to pick a favorite genre .. for me it is a toss-up between RPG and simulations

Simulation: Railroad Tycoon (original Sid Meier version)
Real-time Strategy: StarCraft
First-person Deathmatch: Doom II
RPG: Original Wizardry .. although Wiz8 will overtake soon
Arcade: Ms. Pac Man (yes, I am that old), tied with Galaga

Thief 1 and Thief 2. Absolutely brillant, IMO, and it has a great story line. I love RPGs nd are actually my favorite genre' but the Thief series is so unique that it stands out for me.

Followed by the Nameless One...
I also spent hours, days, nights with Starcraft.

IGN tells me that a nintendo 64 game got a 10 out of 10. Wow, a perfect game.... according to them. Zelda may be a great game and your personal favorite, but IGN giving it a 10 means nothing, nothing at all.

The funny thing is, according to IGN's TOP 100 games, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time / Master Quest is only ranked at #89.

I guess they must have meant that this game is #1 for N64 but overall ranking among other platforms... *ahem* it is up you to judge accordingly. I guess each has his/her own taste or opinion.

I would agree mostly with the game reviews from Gamespot.
