To those that celebrate it.

I have to go to my Aunt's an hour and a half away. Ugg. Will be cold and raining tomorrow too, ugg. But there will be an army's worth of food there, yum! :D

Happy Thanksgiving as well to all who celebrate... and to those who don't, Happy Thursday.

We're staying here for Thanksgiving, then going to Detroit to see family on Saturday. Friday the kids are going to grandma's for an overnite -- woo hoo! And if you have kids, you know exactly what we're going to be doing... Yep, sleeping in, that's right. :D

Ladyzekke 11-26-2003 11:04 PM

LOL! Well happy sleeping in Bungleau!

I can sleep in a bit too tomorrow, as I don't have to be at my Aunts until about 1:00pm. Of course my cat may make me get up to feed her at frikken sunrise, as usual LOL. I swear she has this cackle down to perfection for the morning to wake me up, she will sit next to me and cackle every time she sees my eyelids slowly close when I'm falling back to sleep LOL, who needs an alarm clock when you've got Cackle Queen! :D

mistral4543 11-26-2003 11:09 PM

I don't celebrate it, but that won't stop me from wishing those who do :D

Gab 11-27-2003 08:37 AM

What's strange is that in Canada Thanksgiving is celebrated a month earlier. I wonder why.

Kaltia 11-27-2003 02:49 PM

Happy Thanksgiving to you across the pond!

I celebrated thanksgiving but it was a month ago.

Happy Thanksgiving to Americans to the south (and those to the north west as well).

I have a question. With your Thanksgiving being so close to X-mas do you eat Turkey for both holidays? Turkey usually means leftovers for a month so do you mix it up and say have a ham, or lamb at X-mas or vice versa?

Than what about those poor guys with dual citizenships who celebrate 2 thanksgiving's. They must have turkey coming out the ying yang since they would be eating turkey for three months in a row.

The history of Canadian thanksgiving, we have several origins and one origin is the American Thanksgiving so the two are related.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone . I've always thought it sounded like a lovely holiday - so little commercialisation and hype. Plus I read it provides the added bonus of delaying the christmas decorations in the shops until after it's celebrated - as much as I love christmas, having trees up and carols tootling in the shops in October makes me a little cynical ;)

Charlie 11-27-2003 06:34 PM

Yes, have a very happy Thanksgiving to all those who celebrate it.

P.S, meant to say. Have a safe journey Wendy, and a nice day.

So how did everyone's Thanksgiving fare?

Mine was OK, but I'm a bit peeved at my mom LOL. She told me to be at my Aunt's house NO later than 1:00pm, said how my Aunt liked to eat early an all, and she doesn't like it when you show up late. Well, been at least 10 years since I was at my Aunt's house, and I had forgotten how long a trip it was, took frikken two hours! But still, even then, I made sure to leave early and was only 20 minutes late. So we walk into the door of my Aunt's house, and my Aunt and my mom are peeling potatoes in the kitchen. Hmmmm... My mom keeps wanting to shoo me into the living room, "your dad's in there and has a fire in the fireplace going!" (its 55 degrees F LOL). So I get herded into the living room and sit down, chat with my Dad for a bit. No TV in there, just couches and the fireplace. My mom eventually comes in and I ask her how long before we eat. She says, well your Aunt says not until 3:30pm. I didn't eat anything all day, figuring I'd be eating around 1:00pm! And all my Aunt had for "snacks" were the long raw onions (might have been raw scallions?), brocolli or califlower with a bowl of dill dip. :puke1: Oh and she had a bowl of shrimp, but I'm allergic to seafood. So I suffered for two hours LOL smelling all that food cooking.. Worst part was when the food was finally done, we still had to wait for my cousin and his wife and child to show up for about a half an hour more (they apparently go to an Inlaws' house first and have Thanksgiving dinner with them, then they come to my Aunt's as a second Thanksgiving dinner round LOL). So we wait for the ones who've eaten already!... grrrr. LOL. The food though was excellent, when I finally got it!
