if some one faints of dehydration do they spasm.
i was in mass and a girl passed out and was twitcing on the floor, everyone says it was dehydration, but was it epilepsy or devine experience or something |
Well, if she's been examined by a Dr. and the Dr. says it's dehydration that's probably what it was. I'm not sure what exactly causes epileptic seisures, so I couldn't tell you on that either.
As far as devine experience? I can neither confirm nor deny it, save to say that I have not myself seen anyone have such an experience in that form. |
I fail to see how this is a religous question. I've been dehaydrated and passed out before. It wasn't any kind of divine experience. I'm athiest

wow....pretty eirie....I would be freaked out if that happened at my church.
|
I wouldn't be freaked out. We've had people faint on stage at my church. Of course, that had made the mistake of locking their knees and cutting off the bloodflow. I would be freaked out if the doctor couldn't provide any kind of explanation for the event.
P.S. - I completely forgot to do this, but better late than never: Welcome to Ironworks, One against many!! [ 11-23-2003, 10:37 PM: Message edited by: Firestormalpha ] |

Hello and welcome One against many to Ironworks!
also i don't think it was divine intervention, probably dehydration, also i've seen two people have a fit due to epalipse, and it was really scary, must be horrible to live with that. Quote:
But that could mean she faked it, disturbing none the less. |
Welcome to the boards one against many!
I wouldn't think that it was divine intervention. Probably dehydration, since my grandmother has also passed out a few times because of that in church. |
If she hasn't been seen by a doctor she should. If she fainted from dehydration I wouldn't have thought there would be 'twitching'. Epilepsy is a serious condition which needs to be ruled out. Seizures are caused by disrupted brain functioning - she can have some brain scans which can indicate if that is the problem.

Well, I have heard of such episodes occurring in certain churches. It is called "being slain in the Spirit" and describes an incident in which a person is so overcome by the Holy Spirit of God that they lose physical control of thier bodies. I've never seen it myself, but my former coworker attended a church where it was a somewhat common occurrence.
Still, that is usually associated with certain denominations of churches that believe such events are necessary to confirm your relationship with God. Since this occurred in Mass (which indicates a Catholic church), my guess is that it was dehydration. I don't know about the spasms - that is more common in epilectic seizures - but anytime you lose consciousness, it's possible for your body to experience involuntary spasms. The girl should definitely go see the doctor to find out what caused her to pass out. I think the cause is physical, not spiritual. |
The girl's been in contact with God, he gave her some bad news and the church doesn't want to give them to the public so one of the ministers changed into a doctor and said it's dehydration. It's all just basic conspiracy theory. :D
Anyway, wellcome to Ironworks, One against many. |
A girl was spasming uncontrollably on the floor after a divine experiance? Well my wife usually just kisses me and nibbles my earlobe, but to each her own...
