It's actually from a Japanese game show, where teams compete to win cash prizes based on such wacky & imaginative skits that you see in the ping pong skit.
IIRC the winner is decided by how loud the audience cheers for the team. If you look carefully at the end of the vid, you'll see a voting bar that lights up all the way to the top.
