who goes to halloween parties? and what is your favorite costume? this year I am going to be a cat on a leash (don't ask) and was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to make the costume myself, without having to buy alot of stuff? stupid question, I know. but I need ideas, my husband has it planned on what I will be, and now I need to find the materials, without spending over $50 I have the ears from last year, but want it to look better this year

oh and before you get all well it is your life, be what you want to be, he picked mine, and I will pick his :D I am a makeup artist stuck with no training, lol, but I do good work, and will even take pics when I get him done, he is going to be a dead soldier, with a bullet wound to the head, did this a few years ago, and it even scared adults :D

Hmm no idea on your costume, but in reference to your husbands costume would he be able to go around with only one arm? If so, you could keep one arm in his shirt and make the one sleeve look like the arm was lost in say an explosion. Ewww... but fun

Try pipe cleaners for whiskers, a black leotard, and mittens. Maybe cut the leg off a small pair of black panty hose & put a long skinny balloon in it for your tail. Or use a knee-length black nylon sock -- fill with newspaper & use a coat-hanger to bend it into shape. Or just go as a manx. Maybe file down some Lee Press-On nails for claws? I used to work with a girl who had a real talent for costumes. That company had an annual costume contest. She sewed Star Trek costumes that got us 2nd place in our first competition (the winners spent more than they won!), & we won as the Addams Family the next year.

Maybe have him carry a fake arm, and every so often try to "put it back on"...

those are so great thanks, I will try ll of it, like the idea about the panty hose, but not the ballon, this is going to be a drunk party, lol sad to say, but will still be fun, will use the coat hanger instead :D

yaa since none answered your first two questions I will. Yes I do go to halloween partys and my favorite costume use to be my roman set of armor but as a roman reinator it dosent feel like a costume any more. So this year I got to find a new costume

This year I'm going as Jacob Marley, Scrooge's dead partner from 'A Christmas Carol'. Cue lots of old clothes (waistcoat, homemade cravat, long socks) dipped in grey paint, lots of talcum powder and face paint, and lots and lots of chains and padlocks. The keys are not leaving my possession.

If you need fabric for your costume, check out Walmart, they have lots for $1-$2 per yard. I got some nice fabric to make a window seat cushion out of. At a buck a yard, it cost me $3 to make.

I've never been to any Halloween party simply because you don't get any in Hungary. But I have been at parties around Halloween.

i always go as a witch. this year even as i do have a black maternity dress! i just have no idea what to do for erilyn! we really don't have the money for a costume :( i have some red material but i don't htink i am creative enough to make anything out of it for a costume.

stormy easiest way i found for a kitty...a thin feather boa or like feathery trim for a tail. black leotard, black tights, or hose. filed fake nails work but hurt kids, so i would say just regular fake nails.

We do Halloween here in holland, but I'm 22 years old, a bit too old for Trick'Or'Treatin' ;)

Otherwise, I would go as the coolest person I know: Me!!!

lol, it ain't trick or treating for us, it is just a chance to get out, have some fun, and be strange for a change, lol, with no kids, the party is on the 27th, so we will have 31st to take the kids out for candy, just have to find a decent neighborhood, or take them to boo at the zoo, where they put up candy stands around the zoo, and the kids "trick or treat" in safety, while seeing the animals
