Cloudy's Cafe

Come in, be welcome, be comfortable, be yourself

Welcome to Cloudy's Cafe, a place to have a cup of coffee or a good
darjeeling and the finest in conversation and camaraderie.

The proprietor asks that you follow a few simple guidelines:

this is a real conversation zone, not a role-play zone

* no flaming; if you disagree with a viewpoint expressed by any patron, please do so in a civil manner

* any topic is fair game, but keep posts to the standards that Ziroc has set for the entire forum, please (ie: foul language is not appropriate and things should be suitable for all audiences)
-a side note from Cloudy: I see this as a place for those short
conversations about a new baby or the latest soccer fiasco, not for things that are big enough to warrant their own threads, by all means give those things the space they need and post separately!

* Please, no one word or smiley posts (Ziroc has declared them 'real spam' and the proprietor doesn't want the reputuation of "good spam" to suffer!)

* do feel free to be serious or silly and enjoy the company of others while you are here. By all means POST if you have something to say, even to start another topic , we can handle multiple chats, we're a CAFE!!! But be courteous and don't disrupt a conversation just to disrupt it.

Come on in! The bar is stocked with coffees, teas, juices and waters from around the world. And purple napkins, of course!

The lighting is low, the golden oak counters and tables glow with inviting warmth. Near the window, the lighting is brighter, as comfy, plush leather armchairs wait for those who'd like to read a book while relaxing to music or just lazily watch the world go by.

IM FIRST IM FIRST IM FIRST.....um yep...

Cloudbringer 09-26-2003 10:03 AM

 PLEASE NOTE

This is a modified reminder that I've posted before in reply to someone asking "can we spam the cafe". It still holds true, so I'm going to repeat it periodically for anyone who hasn't seen it.

Read the first post of the thread, it's NOT a spam zone. If you want to discuss you grades, a problem with a teacher, the weather, your neighbor's new car etc.....etc.. (real life conversations) this is the place. I don't mind a SMALL amount of spam but when the Cafe gets to be 8 pages in one day and it's all one liner pure spam, I have to ask people not to do it because most of the members who would come to talk about their day or things that they want advice or sympathy or cheers on, will not post in that atmosphere. I want you to be comfy here, but not at the expense of other members.

So the answer is NO, I don't want to see page after page of roleplay spam or one liner spamfests that could be done on msn or aim etc. because our goal is to TALK WITH one another , not fill up a cafe in five hours. ;)

i went to maths class in secondary school, and am now doing engineering university so lets hear your geometry problem

cloud ff7 38 09-26-2003 10:15 AM

well im just confused about all the tricks you can do with angles because i think im doing it right but then it will turn out i have to do somthing with a 180 degree angle and it turns out im wrong im getting better at it my guidence councler wants to move me because im in 8th grade and taking a 10th grade class and it pisses me off because im fooly capable of doing it.

dplax 09-26-2003 10:18 AM

cloud ff7 38 09-26-2003 10:40 AM

thank you thank you i do feel good about it.

Zarr 09-26-2003 10:44 AM

Well Cloud I'll give you some advice: TRY HARD

You might not think it but maths is important as quite alot of jobs require you to have passed maths and english.

I left my job a few months ago and am currently out of work. I was at the job centre and I saw a job I thought would be perfect, I had more than enough qualifications but later it transpired you needed to have passed Maths! Which of course I didn't :(

cloud ff7 38 09-26-2003 10:48 AM

I get told that everyday all most by my teacher but im still trying only a few more years then college but actully in my school if i were on level i would be taking a pre-algebra course which i took in 6th grade it was easy math started to get harder in algebra 1 especally me because i have to maintain a 85% average this year is the same i have to maintain a 85% average to get into algebra 2 for geom.

Dragonshadow 09-26-2003 10:48 AM

I found my friend. She's called Rai.

Oh my god I sound like a teacher! :D Seriously though I was very lazy at school. The actual exam was okay but the reason I failed is because I didn't do the coursework. I wish I did now...

Firestormalpha 09-26-2003 11:09 AM

Zarr, you're much like me. I have an IQ of about 140-ish, but I failed my classes for the sole reason that I didn't do my work. I aced most of the tests, but did very little work. They need to change the grading systems. I knew what I needed to know, but they base grades too heavily on menial classwork assignments.

Gangrell 09-26-2003 11:21 AM

I'm lazy at school too, actually I'm at school right now. I get my work done and all, just classes are tiring Well, I'll take a Pepsi here Cloudy, right now I have to get back to my history homework.

Later

My father was named Gene and he never liked shopping. I think you should damn somebody else.

Kaltia 09-26-2003 01:28 PM

I have a new sig. *Damns Antryg*

Firestormalpha 09-26-2003 01:43 PM

I like that first part, Kaltia, my bro has that on DVD. No clue where the other part of your sig comes from though. But sticking it in LoTR pics? Some would accuse you of sacrilige, others accuse the movies of sacrilige against the books, but thats another tale for another time.

Kaltia 09-26-2003 01:44 PM

*Calmly points out that she is a Tolkien Junkie, just bereft of the Unfinished Tales*

Aaaah, so no more roleplaying then huh? 2 bad :(

Well, lets get down to brass tax here then: WHAT A DAY! !!!

First of, I went to school at 8:30 in the morning to follow my Law college and guess what, the teacher didn't show up, that no-good @#*&*@#%@* bastard!!!

Well, after that, we had problem-oriented class and I was presiding the discussions. Offcourse it so happened to be that the two most difficult tasks were laid upon me, i tell ya: its hard to control a bunch of overdrived teenagers who all think they know the answer while in fact the know the exact OPPOSITE !!!! Bloody-hell, what did I do to deserve this ....

Well, afterwards we decided to go into town to have a couple of drinks you see and guess what: 80% suddenly decided that they had to be elsewhere. I thought to myself, whatever, Im going into town and Im going to have some fun! !!

So I did went into town and guess what: now I sorta have a girlfriend !!!! :D

So beside the fact that this was a tough day, something really, really good came out of it :D

Thanks Cloudy!!

Well, I found out she attended the same school as I did, just a different education. She's 19 years old and I'm 22. She's a blonde, small figure, but not skinny in the least (if you know what I mean) :D She really looks a little like an elf, she always has her hair haging in front of her face a bit. Her clothing are also a little elf-like: fancy leather pointy shoes, a sixties-like jeans which hangs low on the hip and colorful shirts.

What amazed me about her was that she, at first, was a little ackward when I talked to her (she was standing alone beside the dancefloor of a rather hip-but-mostly-for-the-young kinda bar). She would swallow in half sentences and have a rather severe emotional reaction after that (sorta like: Im trying to say something but it didnt come out right so lets just *completely* forget the fact I ever said something ... ). So I really couldn't figure out what she was up to. We found out we attended the same school and that a friend of hers was in my class. She drank white wine, I drank Southern Comfort (best liqueur there is, just a tiny bit expensive for a student :( ). When I got the drinks, she would look at mine and asked what it as and I said SC and immediately thought: "GOD, you idiot!! Most teenage girls think whisky are for old people who suck! *which is kinda true where I come from*". But she actually wanted a zip and thought it to be pretty nice and I was like: what an amazing girl this is!

As the day, and after that the night :D , progressed, we came to like each other a lot and when parting time arrived, we kissed

And that was the end of it. I get the feeling this is gonna be a great relationship: not only do we attend the same school which means we get to see each other a lot, we match so great that even I was surprised. And the funny thing is, our taste in just about everything is different but they *do* match perfectly, so .....
