bah, if not panda, how bout cristy :D :D .. her mumbo kapwera style can do some facinating moves :D that can buggle your mind. ;)

2d fighter game like Street Fighter or King of Fighters or Dragon Ball. I'm don't like 3d fighting game.
|
Soul Calibur II is the best fighting game. The number of moves, options, realism. There simply is no better. You may have more fun playing another game, but the accuracy of Soul Calibur's 3D weapons combat system must be given homage as the best to date.

Can you ask this question again after Half-Life 2 has been released?...

Personally I like Virtua Fighter 4 though Sega can't do no wrong in my biased eyes |
Wasnt this same thing in user created polls... o well MORTAL KOMBAT ALL THE WAY or soul caliber 2

Best 2D? I dunno...
Best 3D? Either Super Smash Bros Melee, or Soul Calibur 2... |
I haven't played it yet, but from what I've seen, I'd say Soul Calibur II. Other than I don't know, I don't usually play beat 'em up games, I'm more of an RPG player.

Am I the only person on Earth who likes DOA's fighting system? I mean it's great! It's a system of counters and counter-counters and counter-counter-counters... I mean fights can go on for ages + It's got some really ... um... Well rendered characters

I hate 3d fighters because it's all about countering and nothing about attacking yourself. It's all defense, which is just plain boring to me. Also, 3d fighters tend to lend themselves to be heavily unbalanced. FOr example, Maxi (I call him Tampon) will always have an edge over Astaroth in Soul Caliber games, because Astaroth is not built to be able to handle someone so quick.
For me, Guilty Gear X2 is hands-down the best. HANDS-DOWN. It's very fast but not so fast as to overwhelm you, the moves are not necessarily hard to pull off but learning how to link combos through moves is (in other words, it's not skill to pull off moves, but skills how to utilize everything right), and all the things you can do through the tension guage are great and hard to master (overdrives, dead-angle attacks, faultless defense, roman cancels, blah blah blah...). And need I mention how sweet the characters and story are? I totally dig the whole 80's rock theme to everyone. I mean, come on! How can you not like a guy named Axl Rose that happens to look uncannily like a very young Axl Rose?! http://ggx.sprite-central.net/axlwin1.gif Plus, the soundtrack is probably one of my favorite soundtracks EVER, let alone for a video game. BTW, why was this thread created? I already had it going in the gaming section of the forum (where this belongs). [ 09-26-2003, 02:30 PM: Message edited by: Beoulve ] |

Deja Vu: Although Street Fighter II is more nostalgic, Tekken wins it hands down ... End Deja Vu </font> |
2D-Capcom Vs SNK 2/King of the fighters 98
3D-Soul Calibur 2...BAR NONE! |
Soul Calibur II for the newer systems (probably the best one out there, with tekken right up there...GO YOSHIMITSU!!). But for SNES and the earlier systems this game called "Rage" with dinosaurs and Urth was pretty kickass too...Brings back the good memories
|
wow so many choices. glad you guys said SOUL CALIBUR and DOA... i thought that they wouldn't be mentioned...
And /)eathKiller you are absolutly right about the *character* |

And DON'T say "in the arcade"... </font>
Why not? I bought a cool joystick, and the only difference I note from the arcade is that it's gotten BETTER. |

And DON'T say "in the arcade"... </font>
I've told you once and I'll tell you again foo... I own and played Soul Calibur 1 to death, and EVERY review I have read (especially Edge magazine ;) ) confirms that the sequel is superior. If I consider the predecessor to be the best 3d fighting game ever, wouldn't it be logical to assume the critically acclaimed and superior sequel is the best game ever? You mamaluke! I think One Must Fall and Bloody Roar 2

SC2 is good, very good, but my favorite 3der has to be DOA2: hardcore II.
I played that game religiously for years. 2D has, and will have, no comparison beyond super street fighter 2, end of story |
SOUL CALIBUR 2 and Marvel Vs. Capcom

I have now played it, and I can now confirm that it is the best 3D fighting game ever. Satisfied oh argumentative one? PS-I suggest you purchase the game.
