Someone posted something about a giant carcass floating up on shore.
http://www.msnbc.com/news/933992.asp?0dm=C12LT turns out that it was just a sperm whale carcass. No giant squid :( |
That's a whale caracss?
It would have been better if it was a giant squid. They are very interesting and mysterious creatures. Not much info is known about them. [ 07-12-2003, 02:15 AM: Message edited by: GokuZool ] |

Did they mention anything on the 100 feet Kraken I caught the other day?

They thought it was an Octupus, not a squid!
And shame its nothing new, its cool when new speicies like Giant Octopus's are discovered! |
I just thought it was some kind of weird U.S.O.
Unidentified Swimming Object So it was just a whale.... oh sure... |

Giant squid carcass is fake!!
What a surprise  |
i almost caught the loch ness monster once...but my line snapped...should of used a heavier line....
i'm telling you it was |---------this---------| big :D |
I was reading about that. bummer it was fake.
|
Well, "fake" is perhaps a little bit too strong a sentiment. After all, I do recall reading a part of the original article in which the option that it wasn't a squid or octopus at all was still being kept open; they simply didn't know what it was until they'd have investigated the remains properly. ;)

Nothing like seeing a 40 foot big rotting mass of gelatinous whale guts before lunch, huh?
Blech!! Nasty stuff reserchers have to touch! |
I wonder if it will taste good. guess not.
